Abstract

Batik has been acknowledged as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity of Indonesia based on UNESCO in 2009 and this asset is considerably becoming the prospect to overcome global market in Asia. In the other side, the global competition can only be encountered by sustainably developing the internal industry. Therefore, this research elaborates sustainable supply chain performance assessment and also the improvement framework applied in Batik industry with MTO-MTS typology. For fulfilling the provisions of sustainability, the economic, environmental, and social is strictly important to be involved in.  Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) is a reference model of assessment considering five attributes to be measured and implemented as the perspective of economic assessment. Employee’s welfare and liquid waste assessment are then becoming the method to measure the social and environmental aspect. This resulted score as: Reliability is 89.24%, Responsiveness for MTS is 96% for MTO is 62%, Cost is 83.32%, Agility is 100%, and the Assets Management is 79.63%. For the social aspect, the score of parameter Health Insurance is 100%, Safety Tools is 100%, Basic Allowance is 70%, Annual Allowance is 100%, Appropriate Work Hours is 67%, and the Reward is 70%. For the environmental aspect, the temperature is 100%, pH 62.0%, BOD 100%, COD 64.7%, and TSS 7.4%. The improvement framework is also proposed by using Customer Order Decoupling Point (CODP) that results the increased performance in the Responsiveness attribute in the MTO process as much as 8.25%.

Abstract

The effectiveness of Logistics system is the main pillar for national industry and trade development and also for foreign investment attractiveness. Logistics performance at the macro or national level is evaluated using LPI (Logistics Performance Index) that issued by the World Bank. Beside that, the other one of economic indicators is M-PMI (Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index) that evaluates the economic development of a country whether there is an increasing of the level of production, delivery of goods by the supplier, and inventory levels in the processing industry. This study fills a gap in assessing the relationship between LPI dan M-PMI. This study discusses the three things, firstly the condition of LPI Indonesia and the potential for improvement, secondly conditions M-PMI Indonesia 2013 - 2015, and thirdly, the relationship between M-PMI and LPI which analyze the impact of the changes of LPI values to the value of M-PMI. We use comparative analysis qualitatively. From the data analysis of LPI value in 2014 it shows that compared to the other ASEAN countries, Indonesia still needs a lot of improvement in customs clearance and delivery components. From the M-PMI curve it shows that when Indonesia’s LPI is 2,94 in 2012 the value of Indonesia’s M-PMI fluctuate with variation of 2.29. Meanwhile, when Indonesia’s LPI is 3.08 in 2014, the value of the Indonesia’s M-PMI more stable with a variation of 1, 69. We can conclude that the condition M-PMI will be more stable when the LPI is higher, but the movement of M-PMI was not significantly affected by LPI itself but rather on economic conditions, especially the interest rate, purchasing power, and the productivity of the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

This study analyzed the impact of component commonality to schedule instability. Analysis was implemented in the use of component commonality (use of same component in different product structures) in a simple supply chain system which is consist of one manufacturer and two suppliers. Different operational conditions were introduced such as: demand uncertainty, product cost structure, product lead time, product structure and inventory policy that company utilized. The simulation results suggested that common component could reduce schedule instability in both manufacturer and suppliers. Furthermore, the results also indicated that suppliers were the more affected entities due to uncertainty rather than manufacturer

Abstract

Warehouse acts as distributor of the product to the consumer. This is done by PT.XYZ as warehouse outsourcing. PT. XYZ manage a number of beverage products manufactured by PT ABC. The problem faced is the warehouse has not had an arrangement regarding the layout of product placement so that the preparation is done randomly depending on the overall storage blocks are empty. Each block storage in this warehouse holds only one type of product and the expiration date, so that the placement of the goods must be in blocks that are empty and do not take into account travel distance of material handling in the store and pick up the goods. In addition, the product storage memory depends only on the operator alone. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the product placement on the storage location of the performance criteria minimize the total travel distance of material handling. Proposed layout product placement implementing dedicated storage method is a method for solving the layout of the warehouse includes product placement in the warehouse based on the amount of activity out of the product in the warehouse with the shortest distance to I/O point. With the application of this method, it is expected the product to be stored occupies a fixed location to enable the operator to store and retrieve the product. Results from a dedicated application, obtained the total travel distance by 23719.36 m, while the total mileage of the existing condition of 27038.1 with the percentage of 12.27% decline

Abstract

This research was made aiming to determine the work processes in the warehouse of finished goods, which has a main activity that is in the process of receiving, storing and shipping goods, especially in the warehouse of finished. This research was conducted by analyzing the actual conditions are compared to a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and Work Instructions. An SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is made and documented in writing containing procedure or workflow to be achieved by a company or institution. In addition to analyzing the main activities of the warehouse, ths research also analyzes the process palletize (roll battery), standard processes FIFO (First In First Out), and also the process of inventory taking which three are in the process of storage of finished goods. This analysis included descriptive comparative analysis by comparing the actual conditions in the finished goods warehouse with a procedure and work instructions. The results of this analysis is the process activity finished goods warehouse of the receipt, storage, inventory taking, and local delivery is not in accordance with the procedures and work instructions are there, but a standard process FIFO (First In First Out), and the process palletize (rolls battery) has been carried out in accordance with the procedures and work instructions finished goods warehouse

Abstract

This research describes an electronic Kanban system development in order to replace conventional Kanban system. Many previous research conducted to optimize number of Kanban, however weaknesses still find when there is a change condition of production planning, therefore it must be re-optimization number of Kanban and it will takes time and costs. In current condition, the Company has implemented a manual Kanban system to support their  Just In Time production system, but unfortunately it still find problems during implementation due to the system implemented using paper and manual recording. In this research, the electronic Kanban system (e-Kanban) is develop based on computer vision which combined with production systems condition in currently. E-Kanban system is a method to replace manual Kanban irregularity. Based on result through a scenario Master Production Schedule (MPS), Electronic Kanban system can deliver information effciently and effectively with improve 54% compared with conventional systems and 32% compared with manual Kanban.

Abstract

Logistics activity plays an important role in the business process where there is a distribution process to deliver product from the manufacturer / seller to the consumer. Nowadays there are many companies that provide logistics services with its own advantages and disadvantages. This condition, gives users more flexibility in determining which courier companies they will use. IN ordr to aid decision makers in selecting the best courier services providers, we conducted a study regarding the criteria used in determining user’s choice by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The purpose of this study was to determine the main criteria as user’s consideration for selecting the best logistics service providers. Based on a survey conducted on the online sellers, it is known that the criteria of the key considerations in selecting a courier service is Reliability, the reliability of a courier company in serving the needs and desires of its customers, followed by cost and convenience
