Abstract

Writing is a way to express idea, thinking, feeling, that are arrange from the words into sentence in written form. Writing spoof text is involved into one of these skills that have to be mastered by the students. Writing spoof text is also involved in the curriculum of Indonesia Education for senior high school. But one important thing that has to be concerned in writing spoof is the grammar. So, the result of writing will be better if we can use the correct grammar, because the measure of grammar can cause misunderstanding. From this case, the writer wants to discuss their writing ability by mastering grammar. The objectives of this research is to know the correlation between students‟ grammar mastery and their ability in writing spoof text. The method of this research was descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research was 72 students which consisted of eleventh classes. The sample of the research was 36 students. The sampling technique was stratified random sampling technique. In data collecting technique was multiple choice for grammar mastery and essay test for writing ability. In analyzing the data the writer used multiple correlation formula. Based on the calculation in Chapter IV, it can be seen that rcount is 0.717. It means that rcount is more than 0.00. So there is possitive correlation or there is correlation between students‟ grammar mastery and their ability in writing spoof text.

Abstract

The success of a real literary work can not be separated from the aesthetic value that is owned by a literary work. The aesthetic value can be viewed in terms of the use of language style. Therefore, as a supporter of the aesthetic value of a literary work, required the use of a variety of style, one element of eroticism is seen to pose a greater sense of real value and pemajasan to beautify the intended meaning. The study which is based on the short story collection 1 Perempuan 14 Laki-Laki by Djenar Maesa Ayu and others, aims to describe how to use the language of eroticism as well as in the book collection pemajasan 1 Perempuan 14 Laki-Laki by Djenar Maesa Ayu and others. The method selected for this study was descriptive qualitative method. The most dominant figure of speech is an affirmation, an affirmation figure of speech itself is the most widespread is the figure of speech repetition. The next domination demonstrated through comparison figure of speech.

Abstract

In the process of learning the use of media or learning models is very important because it can cause desire and interest in learning a new one that is expected to improve learning outcomes. In this regard the issues raised in this study is whether there is an influence of using cooperative learning techniques two stay two guests (two stay two stray) to the learning outcomes of integrated IPS second semester of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of cooperative learning techniques two stay two guests (two stay two stray) to learning outcomes of integrated IPS second semester of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The population in this research is all class VIII Semester even SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2014/2015 a total of 11 classes to 302. And the number of students who take the sample in two classes, one class as an experimental class and the other class as the control class. The sampling technique used in this study is a random cluster sampling technique. Data analysis was done by statistical quantitative data by using t-test formula that data relating to the figures obtained by the students after the test. Based on the hypothesis testing results obtained using thit thit = 7.66 and from 0.05 significance level distribution tables known ttab = t (1 - ½a) = 2.02 and t (1-α) = 1.68. It can be concluded that the entire hypothesis proved to be true, which means that there is influence of using cooperative learning techniques two stay two guests (two stay two stray) on learning outcomes IPS Integrated second semester of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2015/2016. The average results of social studies integrated students who use cooperative learning techniques two stay two guests (two stay two stray) higher than the results of social studies integrated students who do not use cooperative learning techniques two stay two guests (two stay two stray) against results Integrated social studies second semester of eighth grade students of SMPN 19 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The most important factor in writing is that students need to be personally involved in order to make the learning experience of lasting value. Encouraging students’ participation in the exercise, while at the same time refining and expanding writing skills, requires a certain pragmatic approach. The teacher should be clear on what skills he/she is trying to develop. The method of this research was experimental method. The population of this research was the students at the first semester of the seventh class at SMP Budi Karya Natar Lampung Selatan consisting of 78 students in 2 classes. The samples of this research were two classes, the first class as the experimental class and the second class as control class. In taking the sample, the writer used total sampling technique. In collecting the data, the writer used writing test. The writer provided some topics for the students, and they were asked to write a descriptive text based on the topic chosen. In analyzing the data, the writer used ttest formula. The result of this research showed that the writer proved that the students’ ability in writing descriptive that learn descriptive text was higher than the students’ who learn descriptive through conventional technique. It was proved by the average score of students’ ability in writing descriptive text in experimental class was higher than the average score of students’ ability in writing descriptive text in control class (69.95 > 54.67). Then, the calculation of ttest showed that the score of ttest was higher than ttable with significance level 5% and 1% (7.88>1.67>2.39). Therefore, the writer proved the hypothesis that there is a significant influence of Group Work towards students’ ability in writing descriptive text at the first semester of the seventh class at SMP Budi Karya Natar Lampung Selatan in 2014/2015.

Abstract

The problems that occurred in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung allegedly because of the lack of involvement and active participation of students in the learning process, the lack of student interest and learning model selection is less varied in increasing student activity in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence learning model articulation on learning outcomes of economy of the even semester students of class X SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2015/2016. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The population in this research was 158 people, divided into 4 classes. To determine the sample in this study, the authors used cluster random sampling technique, the experimental class was XD and XA as the control class. The calculation result of hypothesis testing that has been done with the author, obtained t-hit = 5.33 and of the distribution tables at the level of 5% was obtained t-tab = 2.00 and thus proved that t-hit> t-tab. It can be concluded that "there is influence of articulation learning model on the learning outcomes of economy at the even semester students of class X SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2015/2016".

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of scaffolding learning model application towards the learning outcomes of Mathematics in the first semester of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 30 Bandar Lampung. This research used quantitative descriptive method, analysis of data using statistical formulas. The population in this study was all students of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 30 Bandar Lampung consisting of five classes with the number of 156 students, while samples were taken two classes of class VIII B as the experimental class and class VIII E as the control class. To be able to know the results of student learning researchers conducted tests in the form of essays. Hypothesis testing used t-test statistical formulas.

Abstract

One of the important things should be considered in teaching listening is the media used by the teacher. Media can assist the students in learning language. As a facilitator who should give the students chance to learn, a teacher is demanded to choose the suitable media for teaching. This paper attempts to discuss the benefits and how video used as a media in teaching listening. It also aimed to investigate the weaknesses of using video in listening class. Video brings certain information about certain topics. It helps the students in building the knowledge of certain field easier and stimulates the listening comprehension as well since it presents audio and moving image. Video can become an alternative in teaching listening. However, teacher should consider some factors when choosing the video for teaching listening, such as the level of difficulties, the relevant topics, and some aspects related to listening skill like pronunciation of the speaker on the video and clear audio.

Abstract

English is an International language, and in Indonesia English as the first foreign language that should be taught from elementary school up to university. Many students get difficulties in learning English especially in meaning vocabulary. In this research the writer tries to investigate “imaginative description game” as a technique in teaching vocabulary.The objective of this research is to know the influence of imaginative description game towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth class. The research was conducted at the second semester of eighth class of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sugih Lampung Tengah in 2013/2014. The student of 8C consists of 26 students as experimental class was taugh by imaginative description game and 8B consist of 26 students as a control class was taugh by conventional technique.Before conducting the research, the writer asumed thet the students had the same characteristics, qualities and also status. The result of the research showed that there was positive influence of using imaginative description game towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the second senester of the eighth class at SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sugih Lampung Tengah in 2013/2014. It is shown by the result of data analysis in which t-test = 5.22 and t-table = 2.00 at significance level 5% and 2.66 at significance level 1%. So ???????? is accepted because t ≥ ????????????????(1−????) and ????0 is rejected. It means that avergae score of students’ vocabulary mastery that is taught by using vacation game (???? 1= 73.35) is higher than who are taught by using conventional technique (???? 2= 52.5) at second semester of eighth class at SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sugih Lampung Tengah in 2013/2014.

Abstract

English as foreign language brings a phenomenon in education system. EFL students who do not want to get left behind need to master English to follow the growing of education system. Speaking as one of the basic skills is important to be mastered. Therefore, there are many aspects should be cared for. One of them is students’ speaking anxiety. This research is aimed to find the basic causes of Indonesian EFL students’ speaking Anxiety. The data were gathered from a qualitative research. The sample of this study came from a group of Indonesian students who took Speaking 1 class at STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung. The research shown that there were four causes of foreign language students’ anxiety: discomfort, fear, shyness, and worry.

Abstract

Motivating students to be able to write a text message properly, the necessary technical and stimulus to steer students toward teaching materials that will be applied. Then in order to achieve students' skills in writing news text educators should further enhance their creativity in teaching. While problems in the lift in this study that is how the level of students' skills in writing news texts ranging from mastering the contents of the topic, the use of diction, EYD, sentences are good and right and use the elements - elements of stories that cover the 5W + 1H. To achieve the research objectives and facilitate researchers to carry out research, the researchers applied quantitative descriptive method, this method is related to the way researchers to describe clearly and in detail with the percentage of students writing ability level text. While data collection techniques with techniques that assignment. The population in this research were 240 students and that the research sample was set at 40 students. Then the sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling. The results showed that students' skills in writing news text is 69.75%, the value being included in the criteria. While the value - average based on each indicator set is as follows: the average score based on indicators appropriateness of the contents to the topic is 66.87% it is included in the medium category, the average value is based on indicators of the completeness of the news that includes 5W + 1H which is 87.5% which is included in the excellent category, the average value is based on indicators of the use of diction reached 76.87%, it can be categorized in either criteria, the average value is based on indicators of good use of the phrase correctly ie 64.37%, this being included in the criteria, the average value is based on indicators of the use of the enhanced spelling is 55%, so included in the criteria for less.
