Abstract

The problem of forage limitations experienced by farmers as well as dairy farmers in Medowo Village, Kandangan District, Kediri when the dry season arrives. Farmers take other forage alternatives that can grow in all seasons and have more nutritional content than other forages. namely odot grass (Pennisetum Purpureum Cv.Mott). The purpose of this study is 1) to analyze the production costs of odot grass farming, revenue and income of odot grass farming, and 2) analyze the R / C Ratio of odot grass farming. This research was conducted in Village  of Medowo, Sub-District of Kandangan, District of Kediri and the sampling method used was simple random sampling technique with a number of respondents as many as 50 farmers. Data analysis technique used is the calculation of farming and production costs, with quantitative descriptive data analysis methods. The results of this study found an average total fixed cost that is equal to IDR 6,039,302 / ha, the total average variable cost is IDR.11,055,632.8 / ha, the average total production cost is IDR.17,095,270, 1 / ha, the total average revenue is IDR 31,479,403.81 / ha, while the average income received is IDR 2,720,370 / ha. The efficiency results (R / C Ratio) of 1.8 or worth the effort.

Abstract

Meeting the food needs of the majority of Indonesia's population is still very dependent on rice. This raises problems for the Indonesian people because the amount of national rice availability is unable to cover the food needs of the population which is increasing, so that alternative substitute commodities such as Sweet Potatoes are needed. Sweet potato farmers in Village  of Panti, Sub-District of Panti, District of Jember have productivity that is difficult to increase with low prices. The purpose of this study is 1) To find out the level of income of sweet potato farming, and 2) To determine the level of efficiency of the use of farming costs. The results showed that the average total cost of sweet potato farming per hectare was IDR 22,052,029.49 with an average total farm income of IDR  63,444,198.78, so that the farm income reached IDR  41,392,169.29. Furthermore, the activity of sweet potato farming in the study location was efficient, which was marked by an R / C value of 2.15.

Abstract

Increasing paddy production at Sub-District of  Seruyan Hilir is expected to be able to increase income for farmers  for increasing  the welfare of each farmer family. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the area of land, seed, labor in the family, labor outside the family, fertilizer, and pesticides on the production of paddy of Siam Epang Varieties at Sub District of Seruyan Hiir.  Study field was at Subdistrict of Seruyan Hilir,  Seruyan Regency.  Data in this research are primary and secondary data, sample are  86 farmers is choosen  by stratified random sampling technique, data collecting method using interview method, questionnaire and literature study and data processing done using Eviews 7 software, the method used is the least squares method (Ordinary Least Squares) in a regression model that produces the best linear unbias estimator (Best Linear Unbias Estimator).  The result of data analysis showsthat the factors that have positive and significant influence on the production level of paddy Siam Epang Varieties in Subdistrict of Seruyan Hilir are land area, fertilizer and pesticide with coefficient value are 1.009, 0.355, and 0,248. While the factors that have negative and insignificant effect on the level of production  are seeds, TKDK , and TKLK, with coefficient values are -0.131, -0.210, and -0.080. The R2 value is 0.847 means that 84.7 percent of paddy production can be explained by all factors in this study.

Abstract

Jengkol and petai are important horticultural crops for the community. In certain seasons, the price of these commodies reach very high. The largest production area are located in Sumatra and Java. Whereas Sulawesi and Eastern Indonesia are relatively few. This study aims to analyze the suitability of land in Sulawesi (Wajo Regency) for jengkol and petai plants. This research used a field survey and laboratory analysis of 2 soil samples (mini pits) in the North and South areas. The parameters measured are temperature, rainfall, humidity, drainage, texture, rough material, soil depth, peat thickness & depth, Cation Exchange Capacity, base saturation, pH, C-organic, salinity, alkalinity, sulfidic depth, slope, erosion hazard, inundation,  surface materials and rock outcrops. The conclusion of this study shows that the land in Lempong Village, Bola Subdistrict has Marginal (S3) land suitability with texture and soil depth limiting factors.

Abstract

Food is a basic human need that adequacy is a top priority. Stability in a country will be good when food for people assured. Therefore, food security becomes important things. Food security at the household level is the  important thing because food security begins with the smallest level. In this case, the household food security of farmers is also interesting to note because they are a food producer. Patokbeusi District, Subang Regency is one of the potential rice producers, but the dynamics of land tenure affect the food security of farm households. This study aims to determine the major rice production which influence the level of household food security of farmers and socio-economic factors that influence it. The research method used is a survey technique using primary and secondary data. The sampling method uses stratified  random sampling with 97 respondents consisting of rice farmers. The analysis technique uses logistic regression and descriptive techniques. The results from this study as follow: characteristics of farmers are farmers with medium land, with a level of high school education, aged over 40 years, and production average  6.6 tonnes ha/year. Rice farmers in Patokbeusi classified as food secure with indicators of accessibility, continuity, stability, and quality of food. While, the socio-economi factors that influence the rate of household food security is the level of education of farmers and the amount of expenditure to food.

Abstract

The potential possessed by SIMBAT Agro Tourism is huge, the land is wide enough with a land area of around 7 hectares, the charm of attractive mountain nature attractions such as tourist spots in Batu city with access close to the Jember city area, the community environment is very supportive, and human resources enough available to make this Agrotourism very potential to be developed. But behind the great potential of SIMBAT Agrotourism, its development is still not optimal. Seeing the potential and various benefits of the development of SIMBAT Agro-tourism, as well as seeing the condition of agro-tourism that still has not made the main strategic priorities that must be done, and the Agro-tourism design has not been made in accordance with the needs and desires of tourists. Therefore the purpose of this study is to find a strategy towards the development of SIMBAT agro-tourism in Jember Regency. The analytical methods used in this study are IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT, QSPM, and QFD. The results of the study based on QSPM analysis the priority strategy is Optimizing excellence by improving the quality of service to consumers. The QFD analysis obtained attributes of tourist needs that become the top priority seen from the level of importance is cleanliness and beauty of the tourist environment, while the service attribute which is the top priority seen from the level of importance "systematic, continuous HR training, and improvement of the HR work system "The results of the analysis of the two QSPM and QFD analysis tools are very related. Optimizing excellence by improving the quality of service to consumers (QSPM analysis results) can be done by meeting the needs of tourists who are the top priority, i.e. the cleanliness and beauty of the tourism environment (QFD analysis results), and their main application must be done with services that are the top priority in terms of their importance, namely systematic, continuous human resource training, and improvement of the HR work system. With solid human resources and competent skills, it can improve optimizing excellence by increasing the quality of service to consumers.

Abstract

Beff is a kind of foodstuff  which relatively expensive, so not every household  can buy it every time.  This study aimed to: (1) analyze the factors that influence demand of beef  at District of Jember, and (2) calculate the elasticity  on price and income of  demand of beef , also cross-elasticity of demand due on prices of other goods. This study used descriptive methods and surveys with deliberate regional selection (purposive method), selected sub district were Sumbersari, Patrang, Kaliwates, Jelbuk, Mayang, Tempurejo, Ambulu, and Sumberbaru. Sampling was carried out in proportioned random sampling with total of 72 respondents, data obtained from interviews community. Data analysis method used demand theory and Cobb-Douglas model multiple regression analysis. The results of this study concluded that: (1) the factors that significantly influence demand of beef  at District of  Jember were price of beef and  fish , household income, dummy tasts and dummy research area, while the price factor of chicken meat, prices of eggs, education level , while number of family members hae no significant effect on.; (2) beef price elasticity was -4,701 showed that elsticity of beef  was elastic, cross elasticity of chicken meat price, price of eggs and fish were 3,907; 4,416; 1,311, which showed that the three items were substitutes of beef, the income elasticity of 0,579 indicates that beef was a normal item, that was consumtion goods, which was in the event of an increasing on income will caused increase demand.
