Abstract

This article is a review of πάθος (pathos; lust; desire) according to the Philokalia fathers. Pathos is the irrational expression of the soul. It arises from human decisions and choices (free will) alienated from Christ and becomes the disease of the soul (heart). This paper examines pathos, a list of pathos, the pathos process, and how to heal the pathos. The method of the study is the literature review by analyzing the Philokalia texts and other resources. Philokalia is a set of spiritual writings of the Church Fathers based on the Orthodox spiritual tradition. Pathos can only be healed by spiritual practice or discipline (ascesis). Each pathos requires a different ascesis. Jesus Prayer, nepsis, and prayer of the heart are the primary therapies for the sickness of the soul (pathos). The therapy is the purification of the soul to achieve theosis (becoming the likeness of Christ).

Abstract

This article highlights the issue of radicalism that is rife in Indonesia today. Deradicalization is seen as an effort that can be taken to overcome this problem. This paper presents the realization of this strategy from Christian Education's perspective. A qualitative approach through analysis of written materials in literature study is presented in this paper. In particular, the research results from the discourse analysis study of news papers that have been carried out previously are used along with some supporting works of literature to complement the required analysis data. Jack L. Seymour's ideas about the importance of a holistic approach in Christian Education, including a faith community approach, instructional and missional, are the theoretical basis in this paper. These three approaches are correlated with the concept of public theology. As a result, Christian education for encouraging people in the public sphere has become a transformational approach to present the benefits of faith education in the public sphere, primarily to support the deradicalization process. Abstrak Tulisan ini menyoroti persoalan radikalisme yang marak di Indonesia saat ini. Deradikalisasi dipandang sebagai salah satu upaya yang dapat ditempuh dalam mengatasi persoalan ini. Tulisan ini mengetengahkan realisasi dari strategi ini dalam perspektif Pendidikan Kristiani. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui jenis penelitian literatur, analisis bahan tertulis dipaparkan dalam tulisan ini. Secara khusus hasil penelitian dari kajian analisis wacana atas surat kabar yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya beserta tambahan beberapa literatur penunjang disuguhkan untuk melengkapi data analisis. Gagasan Jack L. Seymour tentang pentingnya pendekatan holistik dalam Pendidikan Kristiani yang meliputi pendekatan komunitas iman, instruksional dan misi menjadi landasan teori dalam tulisan ini. Ketiga pendekatan ini dikorelasikan dengan kajian teologi publik. Hasilnya, partisipasi pendidikan Kristiani di ruang publik menjadi sebuah bentuk pendekatan transformasional dalam upaya untuk menghadirkan manfaat pendidikan iman pada ruang publik, khususnya dalam menunjang proses deradikalisasi.

Abstract

This paper presents the discursive thinking of the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20. A correct understanding of the Great Commission is needed so that the implementation of the preaching of the gospel in society is not arbitrary, let alone cause conflict. This study in exploring the discursiveness of the Great Commission was conducted using a qualitative approach. Retrieval of data in the literature related to the topic in this paper. This research concludes that the discursive Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ is one of the culmination of all the biblical foundations for evangelism to develop faith that comes from the four Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles with different emphases. The results of the study conclude that the Gospel of Matthew 28: 18-20 emphasizes that disciples who are weak in faith are empowered to evangelize with the promise of God's participation until the end of time. Abstrak Tulisan ini menyajikan pemikiran diskursif Amanat Agung Matius 28:18-20. Pemahaman yang benar tentang Amanat Agung diperlukan agar implementasi pemberitaan Injil di masyarakat tidak sembarangan, apalagi menyebabkan konflik. Kajian dalam mendalami diskursif Amanat Agung ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengambilan data secara literatur terkait topik dalam tulisan ini. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan, diskursif Amanat Agung Tuhan Yesus Kristus adalah salah satu puncak dari semua dasar Alkitab bagi pekabaran Injil untuk menumbuh kembangkan iman yang bersumber pada ke empat Injil dan Kisah Para Rasul dengan penekanan yang berbeda-beda. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa Injil Matius 28: 18-20 menekankan, para murid yang dalam keadaan lemah iman diberi kuasa untuk melakukan penginjilan dengan janji penyertaan Tuhan sampai akhir zaman.

Abstract

It is a fact that Indonesia is a diverse nation from various backgrounds, including religions. This is a gift, if managed properly, and will produce an extraordinary and strong integration, but on the other hand, there will be disintegration if it is not effectively managed. One of the biggest threats to disintegration is the mindset and behavior that reflects intolerance in the context of religious life. One of the ways to eliminate this issue is to promote inter-religious dialogue. Through a literature review, this article focuses on inter-religious dialogue from the perspective of the French Neo-Psycho-analytic school, Jacques Lacan. This is an auto-anamnesis effort to understand human behavior, especially in religion. Through it, we can see that the pursuit of equilibrium through dialogue across religions is an existential condition that will affect human behavior. The equilibrium is not projected by some common ground, but to accept, acknowledge and respect the fact of differences. The integration will be realized with an attitude of acceptance and respect for differences. Abstrak Indonesia merupakan bangsa yang majemuk dari berbagai macam latar belakang, termasuk agama. Ini adalah anugerah yang jika dikelola dengan baik akan menghasilkan integrasi yang luar biasa kuatnya, dan sebaliknya akan tercipta disintegrasi jika pengelolaannya tidak tepat. Salah satu ancaman terbesar terjadinya disintegrasi adalah pola pikir dan perilaku yang mencer-minkan intoleransi dalam konteks hidup beragama. Salah satu cara untuk mengelaminir isu ini adalah dengan mengupayakan dan mengembangkan terjadinya dialog lintas agama. Melalui kajian literatur, artikel ini menyoroti soal dialog lintas agama dari perspektif seorang tokoh dari aliran Neo-Psikoanalisis asal Prancis, yaitu Jacques Lacan. Ini adalah upaya auto-anamnesa dalam rangka memahami perilaku manusia, khususnya dalam keber-agama-an. Melaluinya kita dapat melihat bahwa upaya untuk mencapai kesetimbangan melalui dialog lintas agama merupakan kondisi eksistensial yang akan terus mengarahkan perilaku manusia. Keseimbangan yang dimak-sud adalah bukan untuk mencari titik temu, melainkan untuk menerima, mengakui, dan menghormati fakta adanya perbedaan. Integrasi akan terwujud dengan adanya sikap penerimaan dan penghormatan terhadap perbedaan

Abstract

The background of this research is based on the moral crisis that occurred in an Adventist Christian high school. The purpose of the study was to identify the effect of moral decadence on character education and counseling guidance, as well as the effect of character education on counseling guidance. This quantitative research uses structural equation modeling (SEM). The data collection technique used random proportionate cluster sampling, with 553 students from three schools as the sample. The results of the study have an effect on positive moral decadence on character education and counseling guidance. Meanwhile, character education has a negative effect on counseling guidance. In conclusion, inconsistent character education results in moral decadence which requires students to do counseling, so character education must focus on one day-to-day rather than focus on student mistakes so that the process is consistent. Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada krisis moral yang terjadi di sekolah menengah Kristen Advent. Tujuan penelitian untuk meng-identifikasi pengaruh dekadensi moral terhadap pendidikan karakter dan bim-bingan konseling, serta pengaruh pendidikan karakter terhadap bimbingan konseling. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan pemodelan persamaan struk-tural (SEM). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan random propor-sionate cluster sampling, dengan 553 siswa dari tiga sekolah sebagai sampel. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkann bahwa dekadensi moral berpengaruh positif ter-hadap pendidikan karakter dan bimbingan konseling. Sementara pendidikan karakter berpengaruh negatif terhadap bimbingan konseling. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter yang inkonsistensi mengakibatkan dekadensi moral yang mengharuskan siswa melakukan bimbingan konseling, sehingga pendidikan karakter harus berfokus kepada situasi sehari-hari daripada fokus mencari kesalahan siswa agar prosesnya konsisten.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the internalization of love as an effort to suppress the procrastination of teachers of Christian education. Christian education in the New Testament is a pivoted education on the Great Teacher of Jesus Christ. It is a Divine and human effort that has existed for a long time and continues to undergo changes in which it contains philosophical and theological content whose function produces life changes that draw one closer to establishing a relationship with God. This research was conducted using quantitative approaches with descriptive methods of correlation. The population distribution in this study was teachers of Christian education in North Sumatera, represented by 42 respondents as a sample (N=42). The sampling technique used was random sampling and be analyzed with simple regression analysis. The correlation that occurs between the two variables is 0.614. It appears that the effect of the effort to internalize love on Suppressing Procrastination is 37,7%, while the other 62,3% is influenced by other factors. The process of internalization which is an embodiment of spirituality has a positive influence, which can overcome the inability to encourage yourself to make a duty to be done. It is suggested subsequent studies regarding the theme in the larger populations and finding another form of internalization to confirm and develop the results of this research.

Abstract

The accompaniment of the large-scale dance "Ehe Lawn" in Babyotan Village, Masela Island, Southwest Maluku District, is a sub-element of the community's culture which is important and needs to be developed towards a steady stage and is expected to enrich the national culture. The accompanying Seka dance music consists of one large tifa, and two small tifa is a unit that is directly integrated with the large Seka dance in Babyotan village. Accompanied music is an element of traditional music from the Babyotan community as an expression of various social values, which are a force in the civilization of the community. This article aims to analyze the style and form of Seka dance accompaniment and various values that can be symbolically accommodated in the accompaniment of rithem music patterns. The existence of the Seka dance accompaniment in the context of the Babyotan community from the beginning and then spread to all regions in Maluku Barat Daya is one of the traditions to show the identity of the Maluku Barat Daya community from the beginning until now. This research was conducted using a qualitative methodological approach and has the aim to obtain a finding of 1) Musical styles and forms are used evenly in the "Ehe Lawn" dance format throughout the Maluku Barat Daya region; 2). Expressing social values that are expressionistically found in the pattern of the rhythm of the big Tifa and small Tifa as a unified musical accompaniment of the Seka dance.  AbstrakIringan tari skala besar “Ehe Lawn” di Desa Babyotan, Pulau Masela, Kabupaten Maluku Barat Daya, merupakan sub-elemen budaya masyarakat yang penting dan perlu dikembangkan menuju tahap diharapkan dapat memperkaya budaya nasional. Musik tari seka pengiring terdiri dari satu tifa besar, dan dua tifa kecil merupakan satu kesatuan yang menyatu langsung dengan tari seka besar di desa Babyotan. Musik pengiring merupakan salah satu unsur musik tradisional dari masyarakat Babyotan sebagai ekspresi dari berbagai nilai sosial yang menjadi kekuatan dalam peradaban masyarakat tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya dan bentuk iringan tari seka, serta berbagai nilai yang dapat diakomodasi secara simbolis dalam pola musik rithem pengiring. Adanya pengiring tari seka dalam konteks masyarakat Babyotan dari awal dan kemudian menyebar ke seluruh daerah di Maluku Barat Daya, merupakan salah satu tradisi untuk menunjukkan identitas komunitas Maluku Barat Daya dari dulu hingga sekarang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan metodologis kualitatif, dan bertujuan untuk memperoleh temuan tentang: 1) Gaya dan bentuk musik digunakan secara merata dalam format tarian Ehe Lawn di seluruh wilayah Maluku Barat Daya; 2) Mengekspresikan nilai-nilai sosial yang secara ekspresio-nis terdapat pada pola irama tifa besar dan tifa kecil sebagai satu kesatuan musik pengiring tari seka.
