Abstract

Children with special needs have characteristics that are not the same as most other children, thus demanding special treatment in carrying out the responsibilities of church ministers. This difference shows that every child is God's special creation, and the church's responsibility to serve them also varies. Some churches accept and are open to the privileges of these children, especially for the development of spirituality and religious religiosity. Still, some churches make them objects for the people around them. This study aims to offer the value of ecclesial service to children with special needs through a reading of Matthew 10:30-31. With a qualitative research approach and using the method of interpretive analysis of scriptural texts, I obtained a foundational value of ecclesial ministry, that is, "all are valuable in God's eye". Finally, based on the conclusions of this article, I recommend the cultivation of spiritual values in serving children with special needs through the internalization approach of "all are valuable in God's eye".   Abstrak Anak berkebutuhan khusus memiliki karakteristik yang tidak sama dengan kebanyakan anak lainnya, sehingga menuntut perlakuan yang khusus termasuk dalam melaksanakan tanggung jawab pelayan gereja. Perbedaan ini memperlihatkan bahwa setiap anak merpakan ciptaan Tuhan yang istimewa, dan tanggung jawab gereja untuk melakukan pelayanan terhadap mereka juga beragam. Ada gereja yang menerima dan terbuka terhadap hak istimewa anak-anak ini terutama untuk pengembangan spiritualitas dan religiositas keagamaan, tetapi ada juga gereja yang menjadikan mereka objek bagi orang-orang di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menawarkan sebuah nilai pelayanan gerejawi terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus melalui pembacaan Matius 10:30-31. Dengan pendekatan riset kualitatif dan menggunakan metode analisis interpretatif teks kitab suci, dihasilkan sebuah fondasi nilai pelayanan gerejawi “semua berharga di mata Tuhan”. Akhirnya, berbasis pada simpulan artikel ini, saya merekomendasikan penanaman nilai spiritual dalam melayani anak berkebutuhan khusus melalui pendekatan internalisasi "semua berharaga di mata Tuhan".

Abstract

This research raises the issue of the challenges of implementing religious moderation in theological higher education in the digital era, with the locus of the Theological College of the Kalimantan Evangelical Church (STT GKE) in Banjarmasin. The research aims to explore how STT GKE implements and promotes religious moderation through curriculum and student activities, taking into account the challenges and opportunities of the digital era. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study, using in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results showed that STT GKE has integrated the values of religious moderation into the curriculum, student activities, and interfaith collaboration, although it still faces challenges in implementation in the digital era. Finally, this study concludes that theological higher education, such as STT GKE, can play an important role in shaping a generation of religious leaders who are ready to promote moderation in an increasingly digitally connected world. We recommend increased investment in digital capacity building and closer collaboration between theological higher education institutions and interfaith communities to strengthen networks of tolerance and mutual understanding in the digital age.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengangkat masalah tantangan implementasi moderasi beragama di pendidikan tinggi teologi dalam era digital, dengan lokus Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Gereja Kalimantan Evangelis (STT GKE) di Banjarmasin. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengeksplorasi bagaimana STT GKE mengimplementasikan dan mempromosikan moderasi beragama melalui kurikulum dan kegiatan mahasiswa, dengan memperhatikan tantangan dan peluang era digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa STT GKE telah mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama ke dalam kurikulum, kegiatan mahasiswa, dan kolaborasi lintas agama, meskipun masih menghadapi tantangan dalam implementasi di era digital. Akhirnya, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan tinggi teologi, seperti STT GKE, dapat memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk generasi pemimpin agama yang siap mempromosikan moderasi dalam dunia yang semakin terkoneksi secara digital. Kami merekomendasikan peningkatan investasi dalam pengembangan kapasitas digital dan kolaborasi yang lebih erat antara institusi pendidikan tinggi teologi dengan komunitas lintas agama untuk memperkuat jaringan toleransi dan pemahaman bersama di era digital.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology provides great potential for improving efficiency in areas such as healthcare, finance, and education. However, these advancements also pose ethical and spiritual challenges, especially in the context of the Christian faith. The Holy Spirit, One of the Trinity Persons, is the source of moral guidance and transformation, while AI operates based on logic and algorithms without spiritual elements. This research aims to bridge the gap in understanding by exploring the integration of spiritual values in AI development. As such, this paper emphasizes the importance of respecting spiritual values while advancing efficiency and productivity, guaranteeing that AI can contribute to human well-being in a just and harmonious manner according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.   Abstrak Perkembangan pesat teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) memberikan potensi besar untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dalam berbagai bidang, seperti kesehatan, keuangan, dan pendidikan. Namun, kemajuan ini juga menimbulkan tantangan etis dan spiritual, terutama dalam konteks iman Kristen. Roh Kudus, salah satu Pribadi dalam Tritunggal Ilahi, merupakan sumber bimbingan dan transformasi moral, sementara AI beroperasi berdasarkan logika dan algoritma tanpa unsur spiritual. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjembatani kesenjangan pemahaman dengan mengeksplorasi integrasi nilai-nilai spiritual dalam pengembangan AI. Dengan demikian, artikel ini menekankan pentingnya menghormati nilai-nilai spiritualitas sambil memajukan efisiensi dan produktivitas, menjamin bahwa AI dapat berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan manusia secara adil dan harmonis sesuai dengan bimbingan Roh Kudus.

Abstract

Woke Culture and Cancel Culture present new ethical challenges in the digital society, including within Christian Religious Education in Indonesia. The resulting social fragmentation—driven by confrontational justice narratives—demands a more dialogical and solidaristic curriculum. This study employs a constructive-theological approach to formulate a responsive model of Christian Religious Education curriculum, grounded in Rebecca Todd Peters’ Christian ethic of solidarity. Her framework rejects individualistic morality and symbolic violence, emphasizing the cultivation of dialogical spaces (brave spaces), solidarity with the marginalized, and the integration of orthodoxy, orthopathy, and orthopraxy. The findings reveal that a solidaristic and contextual curriculum can form learners into agents of justice who are compassionate, critically engaged, and dialogically capable in pluralistic societies. Such a curriculum functions not merely as doctrinal instruction, but as a transformative space of faith formation, relevant both theologically and ethically.   Abstrak Woke Culture dan Cancel Culture menghadirkan tantangan etis baru dalam masyarakat digital, termasuk dalam pendidikan agama Kristen di Indonesia. Fragmentasi sosial yang diakibatkan oleh nilai-nilai keadilan yang konfrontatif menuntut kurikulum yang lebih dialogis dan solider. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan konstruktif-teologis untuk merumuskan model kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang responsif ter-hadap tantangan era woke, dengan menjadikan etika solidaritas Kristen dari Rebecca Todd Peters sebagai fondasi utama. Etika ini menolak mora-litas individualistik dan kekerasan simbolik, serta menekankan pembentukan ruang dialogis (brave space), keberpihakan pada yang tertindas, dan integrasi antara ortodoksi, ortopati, dan ortopraksis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum yang solider dan kontekstual dapat mem-bentuk peserta didik menjadi agen keadilan yang penuh kasih, kritis terhadap ketidakadilan, dan mampu berdialog dalam masyarakat plural. Kurikulum ini menjadi sarana formasi iman yang relevan, tidak hanya secara doktrinal, tetapi juga secara sosial dan etis.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of the theology of hospitality based on the passage of Luke 14:12-14 in the context of church life in the postmodern era. Using a contextual hermeneutic approach and narrative analysis, this study examines how the concept of Jesus' hospitality can be transformed into an ecclesiological praxis relevant to the contemporary church. The findings of the study show that Christian hospitality not only functions as a social ethic but also as a fundamental dimension in the mission of the church that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of religious communities. The church faces a challenge to reconstruct its identity through inclusive and transformative hospitality practices in the context of postmodernity, which is marked by social fragmentation and an institutional crisis of trust.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji konstruksi teologi keramahan berdasarkan perikop Lukas 14:12-14 dalam konteks kehidupan menggereja di era posmodern. Menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutik kontekstual dan analisis naratif, studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana konsep keramahan Yesus dapat ditransformasi menjadi praksis eklesiologis yang relevan bagi gereja kontemporer. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keramahan Kristiani tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai etika sosial, tetapi juga sebagai dimensi fundamental dalam misi gereja yang melampaui batas-batas tradisional komunitas religius. Dalam konteks posmodernitas yang ditandai dengan fragmentasi sosial dan krisis kepercayaan institusional, gereja ditantang untuk merekonstruksi identitasnya melalui praktik keramahan yang inklusif dan transformatif.

Abstract

This study examines the intersection between Christian religious education and Javanese educational traditions, focusing on the theories and teaching methods found in the Bible and the philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. The research highlights how biblical figures such as Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Nehemiah, Jesus, and Paul embodied educational principles that align with Dewantara’s education philosophy. Both traditions emphasize holistic education, character formation, mentorship, and community-based learning. By drawing from both traditions, Christian religious education in Indonesia can integrate biblical teachings with local wisdom to create a more effective and contextually relevant learning system. This synthesis can strengthen character formation, intellectual growth, and spiritual development while fostering a deeper appreciation of cultural heritage. The study ultimately advocates for a dynamic, inclusive Christian education that respects biblical principles and indigenous educational philosophies.

Abstract

This research examines the transition of pastoral leadership towards emeritation in Indonesian Pentecostal churches that face the challenge of family-based leadership inheritance. The study aims to formulate an emeritation model based on the principle of Spirit-led pneumatocratic leadership. Using a constructive approach, the research developed an integrative model through analysis of theological literature, case studies, and church governance practices. Findings show that the practice of informal inheritance weakens accountability and the quality of spiritual ministry. The emeritation model offered includes six stages: theological affirmation, strategic planning, spiritual mentoring, the empowerment of contemporary competencies, honouring emeritus pastors, and periodic evaluation. The design of this model supports the regeneration of healthy and relevant leadership through a spiritual transformation process. Thus, Indonesian Pentecostal churches can strengthen leadership regeneration while maintaining a balance between spiritual authority and public accountability.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji transisi kepemimpinan pastoral menuju emeritasi dalam Gereja-gereja Pentakostal Indonesia yang menghadapi tantangan pewarisan kepemimpinan berbasis keluarga. Tujuan penelitian adalah merumuskan model emeritasi berdasarkan prinsip kepemimpinan pneumatokratis yang dipimpin Roh Kudus. Menggunakan pendekatan konstruktif melalui analisis literatur teologis, studi kasus, dan praktik pemerintahan gereja, penelitian ini menyusun model integratif. Temuan menunjukkan praktik pewarisan informal melemahkan akuntabilitas dan kualitas pelayanan rohani. Model emeritasi yang ditawarkan mencakup enam tahap: peneguhan teologis, perencanaan strategis, mentoring spiritualitas, pemberdayaan kompetensi kontemporer, penghormatan pendeta emeritus, serta evaluasi berkala. Model ini dirancang sebagai proses transformasi rohani yang mendukung regenerasi kepemimpinan yang sehat dan relevan. Dengan demikian, Gereja-gereja Pentakostal Indonesia dapat memperkuat regenerasi kepemimpinan sambil menjaga keseimbangan antara otoritas rohani dan akuntabilitas publik.

Abstract

This study analyzes Psalm 37 through the lens of liberation hermeneutics, the theology of suffering, and Midrash Tehillim. The findings reveal that the promise of land inheritance for the righteous is not merely an eschatological comfort but a subversive social critique against structures of injustice. The acrostic structure emphasizes God’s order amid social chaos, while Midrash Tehillim teaches that theological protest is a valid expression of faith. The suffering of the righteous is understood as part of God's solidarity, who shares in humanity’s pain. Thus, Psalm 37 calls the church to become an empathetic agent of change, embodying social justice and strengthening believers’ faith. This message is relevant to modern contexts marked by social and economic inequality. This research highlights that experiences of suffering are not just pain, but also a call to action, involving participation in God’s mission of peace and justice in a broken world.   Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis Mazmur 37 dengan pendekatan hermeneutika pembebasan, teologi luka, dan Midrash Tehillim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa janji pewarisan tanah bagi orang benar bukan hanya penghiburan eskatologis, melainkan kritik sosial subversif terhadap struktur ketidakadilan. Struktur akrostik menegaskan keteraturan Allah di tengah kekacauan sosial, sementara Midrash Tehillim mengajarkan bahwa protes teologis adalah bentuk iman yang sahih. Penderitaan orang benar dipahami sebagai bagian dari solidaritas Allah yang turut merasakan penderitaan umat. Dengan demikian, Mazmur 37 mengundang gereja untuk menjadi agen perubahan yang empatik, menghadirkan keadilan sosial dan meneguhkan iman umat. Pesan ini relevan bagi konteks modern yang sarat dengan ketimpangan sosial dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pengalaman luka bukan sekadar penderitaan, tetapi juga panggilan untuk bertindak menghadirkan damai sejahtera Allah di tengah dunia yang penuh ketidakadilan.

Abstract

This research examines the Mapur community in Bangka, exploring how their philosophy, local wisdom, and cultural traditions enhance their mental and spiritual resilience in the face of social, economic, and environmental changes brought about by modernization and natural resource exploitation. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key figures, including traditional leader Abok Gedoi, Suli, and community member Apriyatno. Participatory observation and focus group discussions (FGD) provided a collective perspective on cultural and spiritual practices. Thematic analysis was applied to identify core themes related to resilience. The findings highlight that the Mapur people rely on harmony with nature, cooperation, gender equality, and culture-based education to build mental and spiritual resilience. Traditions such as Nujuh Jerami and the Bukaladang system are crucial in fostering social cohesion and community solidarity. The study focuses on a single community, which limits the generalizability of its findings to broader populations. The study suggests practical intervention strategies, including integrating cultural values into resilience-building programs to enhance the well-being of the Mapur community. This research addresses a gap in the literature regarding the resilience of the Mapur people. It offers insights into the interplay between cultural traditions and mental and spiritual well-being, contributing to broader discussions on community resilience in indigenous populations.

Abstract

The Book of Ecclesiastes presents a skeptical and somber reflection on human existence. The term vanity serves as a central theme for Qohelet in expressing the outcomes of his existential inquiry. But what exactly does vanity mean in this context? This article examines the concept of futility from an ethical perspective, aiming to clarify common misunderstandings of the term. Uncertainties beyond our control mark human life; thus, vanity becomes a key concept for understanding how humans might transcend the world's absurdity. Ultimately, Ecclesiastes invites its readers to contemplate what it means to live rightly as creations of God.   Abstrak manusia di dunia. Kesia-siaan menjadi kata kunci bagi Qõhelet dalam menyajikan hasil pergumulannya sebagai manusia. Lantas, apa yang dimaksud dari kesia-siaan? Artikel ini akan mendalami terminologi kesia-siaan dengan menggunakan lensa etis, untuk menghindari kekeliruan pemahaman tentang kesia-siaan. Manusia hidup di dalam ketidak-pastian yang berada di luar kontrol dirinya, sehingga kesia-siaan adalah kunci utama bagi manusia untuk melampaui ke-absurd-an duniawi. Kitab Pengkhotbah mendorong pembacanya untuk merenungkan kembali, bagaimana menjalani kehidupan yang sepantasnya sebagai ciptaan Allah.
