Abstract

This reasearch was aimed to know The Effectiveness of Learning by Using Description, Interpretation, and Evaluation Learning Technique in Excretion Syystem in Humans Subject Matter of Student in Class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Barumun Tengah. This research was conducted in May to July 2016 in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Barumun Tengah. The population in this research was all students class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Barumun Tengah totalling 68 students which was consisted of two classes, XI1 and XI2.  The sample in this research was one class totalling 35 students.The technique sampling was random sampling. The observation was conducted to 35 students by using multiple choice test totalling 25 items.The success indicator of this reasearch were: the average value of learning outcomes, learning mastery, and the mastery of indicator achievement. The research result showed that the average value of student’s learning outcomes which was taught by description, interpretation, and evaluation learning technique was 7.6 (good category) where the standard deviation was 15.5. Student’s learning mastery in The Excretion System in Humans subject matter in Class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Barumun Tengah was 91.42% while 8.58% has not achieve the learning mastery. Based on the research result concluded that Biology Learning in Excretion System in Humans Subject Matter in Class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Barumun Tengah by Using Description, Interpretation, and Evaluation Learning Technique was very effective.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the activity of students active learning approach for the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This type of research is descriptive research with quantitative, The subjects are students of SMP Negeri 15 Medan, class VII (6) with total of 40 people, The instruments used are the Observation Sheet Activities Active Students who applied in four (4) times the implementation learning with approach of PMR. This data in the research were analyzed use descriptive statistics. The results showed that the activity of students with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) meets the criteria of effective. Where from the tenth aspect of students activity observed include read/ understand (book/ LAS), attention to the explanation of the teacher, to solve the problems, asking questions, discussions among students, discussion between students and teachers, explain a results/ an expression/ an idea, write things that are relevant or importan to the learning activities, making conclusion, fortofolio (do the work a task themeselves ) within the tolerance limits ideal. This learning make students more enthusiastic in learning, growing cooperation in learning and attitude respect each other opinions or ideas. There are also students who are more willing to submit respons , opinions and give questions to the friends or the teacher. Based on research of this results, the researchers suggested that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is used in learning because of RME is an alternative to increasing the activity of students’ activity in learning
