Abstract

Abstract” This research is quantitative and examined the effect of multiple large shareholder structure, leverage, and intellectual capital on company performance using the ROE. The data is retrieved from financial statements of service companies, exclude the finance subsector, listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2018. There are 36 companies and 171 data for the sample using the purposive sampling method. The method of analysis used is multiple linear regression. The result is that multiple large shareholder structure, leverage, and intellectual capital have significant effects simultaneously on non-finance company performance. Partially, multiple large shareholder structure, leverage, and intellectual capital have positive and significant effects on company performance. This research proves that company performance can be enhanced by maximizing multiple large shareholder structure roles as supervisors to decrease internal conflicts and represent the minority shareholders, keeping the leverage ratio to avoid default risk, and utilizing intellectual capital to advance the value-added of the company. The increase of MSMEs in the food and beverage industry recently experiencing significant growth, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. According to statistical data released by the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) in November 2020, the food industry dominated Micro and Small businesses in 2019 for 36.23%. The increasing number of MSME businesses in this sector becomes an opportunity for the processing services industry (contract manufacturer) to help MSMEs with all limitations. This study conducted a case study on PT. Krispindo as a company engaged in processing services (contract manufacturer) in the snack sector. This research aims to assess (valuation) new business proposed by PT. Krispindo in terms of optimal use of debt and equity for the company and also investment returns that can be given to investors. In addition, this research also aims to assist the company in making decisions for the following period project, decision to continue or discontinue the business. This study used optimal Cost of Capital (WACC) and Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) in setting optimal business capital. To measure investment return expectations for investors, the study used the company's Net Present Value (NPV), Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) approaches. To find out whether or not the business is further, this study uses Terminal Value Asset (TVA) and On Going Concern Value from the business obtained when the project ending. The results prove using debt in capital has more benefit for the company and the business can continue after the projection period ends. Keywords: New Business Valuation (NPV), Debt-to-equity ratio (DER), Average Cost of Capital (WACC), Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Terminal Value Asset (TVA) and On Going Concern Value

Abstract

In oder to increase farmers' income, innovation is needed in agriculture business that focuses on empowering farmers as the main actors. An agricultural ecosystem is needed that puts farmers on par with other stakeholders. So a digital agricultural ecosystem is designed, inspired by SFVCD FAO and the writer's experience in accompanying farmers from 2015 to 2019. The design of this agricultural digital ecosystem ensures the role of digital technology so that the ecosystem can run openly, fairly and get commitment from all stakeholders in its implementation. The purpose of this preliminary study is to determine the feasibility of designing agricultural digital ecosystems by knowing farmers' perception of the 3 benefits of the design of the agricultural digital ecosystem in providing opportunities to increase farmers' income. The design of this agricultural digital ecosystem ensures the position of farmers on a par with other stakeholders, namely market providers, cultivation ordinance providers, production facilities providers, technology providers, fund providers and ecosystem guarantors. The use of digital technology to ensure that the ecosystem can run openly, fairly and get commitment from all stakeholders in its implementation. This digital ecosystem relies on recording activities and transactions digitally by farmers and other stakeholders in line with the increasing literacy of digital technology among agricultural businesses. This research uses case study approach of papaya farmers in Yogyakarta. The results of this research showed that the stakeholder of papaya farmers in Yogyakarta is only one buyer of harvest or offtaker. As for agriculture practices provider and funding does not involve other parties or made / borne by farmers themselves. The results showed that the benefits of price certainty at the beginning and certainty of procedures and means of production in the design of the digital ecosystem of agriculture are perceived by farmers as an opportunity to increase farmers' income, while the benefits of funding availability is perceived by farmers as a chance of reducing farmers' income. Farmers give input on the need for proof of success in the procedures of cultivation and production advice and make the availability of funds as an option (not mandatory) in the development of the next agricultural digital ecosystem design Keywords: Digital Agro Ecosystem, Farmers Income, Farmers Empowerment

Abstract

This research examines several determinants that may have effect to firm value of the consumer goods manufacturing sector in Indonesia in 2015-2018, proxied with Price to Book Value (PBV). The factors that are thought to to have effect against firm value are Price Earning Ratio (PER) which shows potential future profits and investment choices, financial leverage (DER) which reflects the comparison between source of firm's funding, Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) which is a factor that attracts investor interest, and Return on Equity (ROE) which reflects the ability of the firm to generate net income from its equity. This research is important because firm value is a reflection of the shareholder's welfare. The study reveals that DER negatively and significantly influence the PBV, as well as significant effect of all other independent variables simultaneously on PBV. Keywords: Firm Value, financial leverage, Dividend Payout Ratio, Price Earning Ratio, Return On Equity.
