Abstract

Knowledge and attitude are some of the factors contributing to low consumption of fruits and vegetables in children. Knowledge and attitude also influence children's eating habits. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the influence of a dietary intervention using posters and animated videos on the knowledge of elementary school children. The research plan employs a quasi-experimental design by providing nutrition education interventions to three groups of students in Karawang Regency, West Java in May 2023. There are 30 elementary school students. Questionnaire data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank test for abnormal data and paired t-test for normal data to measure the extent of data differences. After the intervention, students' knowledge regarding the animated video media significantly increased (p-value = 0.032), making animated video media one of the effective ways to improve the nutritional knowledge of elementary school students and change attitudes for the better.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding without additional foods is related to the distribution of nerves in speech development. When the breastfeeding process is repeated, it can train the child's voice-forming muscles and mouth structure. An interesting problem is that previous research shows that there is no relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and children's speech development. The assessment used is Denver II. This study aimed to assess the speech development of normal or suspected children. The sample was carried out by purposive sampling. The number of respondents in this study was 141 people, 75 boys (55.3%) and 66 girls (45%). Exclusive breastfeeding data was obtained for 105 respondents, of whom 89 respondents (84.8%) had normal speech development, and 16 respondents (15.2%) were suspect. Meanwhile, 36 respondents were not given exclusive breast milk, 30 respondents (83.3%) had normal speech development and 6 respondents (16.7%) were suspect. A statistically insignificant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the speech development of children aged 6-12 months at Puskesmas Grogol Petamburan, Jakarta Barat with a p-value of 1,000 (p>0.05). This research involves various factors that can influence speech development apart from exclusive breastfeeding, so further research is needed to identify factors that can influence children's speech development.

Abstract

Construction of the Maria Screening Instrument Risk of Bleeding Post Open Prostatectomy” is a guide used to assess the risk of bleeding after open prostatectomy. Patients require 85% blood transfusion when resection exceeds 80% of the prostate. The surgical complications that are feared during open prostatectomy surgery are bleeding and obstruction of urine flow. This study aims to identify, analyze and develop a screening instrument for the risk of bleeding after open sprostatectomy. The author conducted a qualitative exploration with 6 participants from different professions in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to get a picture of the need for instruments to become a necessity at Boven Digoel Regional Hospital, followed by expert consultation and revisions according to suggestions. The MARIA instrument is the choice for observing post-open prostatectomy patients, namely: Minimizing Blood Loss, Assuring Safe Treatment. Reducing Complications, Individualizing Care, Accelerating Recovery. Conclusion. Maria's screening instrument as a guide is needed to assess the risk of post-open prostatectomy bleeding. Assessment of post-prostatectomy patients should use assessment instruments that can be developed according to hospital needs.

Abstract

In 2021 at the Tapos Health Center, out of 9,352 hypertensive patients aged ≥ 15 years, only 1,547 people (16.5%) received standard services. This problem is a serious health challenge because hypertension contributes to the high mortality rate in the region. The purpose of this study is to identify the problem and its causes and provide alternatives to the existing problem. The research design used for this study is descriptive analytical. This research aims to identify problems and their causes and provide alternatives to existing problems. Data collection and observation were carried out offline  and then the data was processed using the Matrix Criteria Method. The results obtained for the problem that is the top priority is the low public interest in health promotion. Therefore, alternative problem solving is needed that can increase public interest in participating in health promotion. As a solution, planning sustainable health programs related to hypertension is a top priority to increase public awareness and participation in hypertension prevention. The program includes periodic health checks, counseling, and joint sports activities. It is hoped that through this program, it can overcome the low public interest in health promotion and ultimately help reduce the risk of hypertension and improve overall public health.
