Abstract

Career development is influenced by various factors. Parental support and peer influence have a strong influence on adolescent career choices. This study aims to analyze the contribution of parental support and peer influence to career decision making. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 151 grade XII students were selected through proportional random sampling techniques to participate in this study. The instruments used include a scale of parental support, peer influence, and career decision making. This study first conducted a Pearson correlation test to determine the contribution between research variables. Then the researcher conducted a classical assumption test as a prerequisite for regression analysis, using normality, linearity, and multicollinearity tests. Data analysis in the hypothesis test used multiple regression using SPSS 23. The results showed that parental support was in the high category, peer influence was in the high category, and career decision making was in the moderate category. The findings in this study indicate that parental support and peer influence contribute significantly to students' career decision making.

Abstract

The increase in cases of sexual violence occurring among teenagers raises concerns about the psychological impact they experience. To face the impact, teenagers need resilience, which is how they can respond to the problems they experience more positively, endure difficult conditions, and bounce back. This research aims to analyze the resilience levels of adolescent victims of sexual violence in terms of family support and gender, as well as the differences. The research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive comparative methods and is deepened with interviews. The findings of the research show that 1) overall, the resilience level of adolescent victims of sexual violence is good, meaning they can endure despite experiencing trauma, 2) there is a significant difference in the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence when viewed from family support; the better the family support, the better the resilience, 3) there is a significant difference in the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence when viewed from gender; males have better resilience compared to females, 4) there is no interaction between family support and gender in explaining the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that is very vulnerable to occur in adolescence, which is now easier and more often done using electronic or digital devices. Individuals or adolescents who experience cyberbullying can experience depression, anxiety, loneliness, suicidal behavior and symptomatic symptoms. This study aims to analyze the conditions of cyberbullying behavior and produce a product in the form of an e-module for cognitive behavioral modification with a change technique to reduce cyberbullying behavior that is feasible and can be used by BK teachers/Counselors. This study is a type of development research (Research and Development) with the ADDIE model. This study involved 3 experts related to the feasibility test of the content and appearance of the e-module and 2 BK teachers/Counselors to test the usability of the e-module. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and nonparametric statistics. The results of the study showed that the condition of cyberbullying behavior in students was in the high category. The e-module for cognitive behavioral modification with a structuring technique to reduce cyberbullying behavior in students was considered feasible for use by BK teachers/Counselors in reducing cyberbullying behavior and the level of usability of the e-module was considered good.

Abstract

Poor interpersonal communication skills will hinder students in building and maintaining harmonious relationships. Effective communication if utilized properly has the potential to prevent and resolve problems or conflicts between individuals, groups, tribes, nations, and races. Efforts to improve students' interpersonal communication skills are carried out by providing material mastery services through small group discussion learning models. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of material mastery services through small group discussion learning models by comparing achievements before and after treatment. This study uses quantitative methodology. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was junior high school students, with samples taken using the Purposive Sampling technique, namely two classes classified as moderate interpersonal contact, both of which are equivalent. This study uses the Likert Scale paradigm for data collection, which is then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test, facilitated by SPSS version 26. This study concludes that topic mastery services using the small group discussion model effectively improve students' interpersonal communication skills. The gap in interpersonal communication skills between students in the experimental group, who received content mastery services through a small group discussion model, and those in the control group, who were only given structured content mastery services, was 0.000, indicating a probability below 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05).

Abstract

This study addressed the problem of limited knowledge and varying attitudes towards assessment and testing among school and practicing counsellors in Nigeria. The research aimed to explore the relationships between knowledge and attitudes towards these practices. Using four research questions and hypotheses, the study targeted all counsellors in Nigeria, with a purposive random sample of 350 participants drawn from attendees at the annual APROCON and CASSON conferences. Data were collected through the "Knowledge and Attitude towards Assessment and Testing among School and Practicing Counsellors in Nigeria Scale (KAATSOPCNS)," developed after an extensive literature review. Analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC). The findings revealed significant relationships between counsellors' knowledge and attitudes towards assessment and testing, emphasizing the need for deeper understanding and professional competence. It is recommended that counsellors acquire requisite qualifications, gain practical experience, and participate in regular professional development programs to enhance their proficiency in assessment and testing. These steps are essential to ensure effective counselling practices in Nigeria.
