Abstract

One of the efforts to construct local values as a basis for instilling ethno-pedagogical characters is to interpret the character of Mpu Kuturan which is manifested through the construction of the Pura Agung Mpu Kuturan at the Sekolah Tinggi Agama Hindu Mpu Kuturan Singaraja, Bali. This research emphasizes philological studies. The researcher reads various manuscripts about the remains of Mpu Kuturan's knowledge as a cultural heritage in Bali. The context is important to examine because it is useful for providing a textual description, especially the reconstruction of local values to be used as a reference for pedagogical values. The stages of the Pura Agung Mpu Kuturan ceremony contain academic values based on ethnopedagogy. First, Melasti Segara and Mapekelem-Mapapada Wewalungan Tawur, meaning the construction of eco-pedagogical values and critical learning media, because they are the personification of the universe. Second, Nyenuk, Ngamargiang Kekundang, Ngaturang Guru lan Bendu Piduka/Ngrsi Bojana, meaning the construction-systematization of the thinking process. The symbolization of colors and the placement of gods in various directions symbolically signify the thinking ability of a learner or academic must be adjusted to the situation and conditions or social gradation of each diverse society. Third, Nangun Ayu-Makebat Daun, as a constructive symbol of metacognitive thinking - open. Makebat daun means opening up a new life or hope. If interpreted, the procession of the ceremonies above is the result of human creativity (as homo-esparan) to visualize or personify the form and presence of God which is abstract in nature into a concrete form.

Abstract

Currently, learning is more centered on teacher activities. This is because there is no creative and innovative learning media so that can affect student learning outcomes to decline. The purpose of this study is to produce audio-visual poster media based on a scientific approach to water cycle material in elementary school grade V science learning to improve student interest and learning outcomes. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE. The subject of the product trial in this development research is the subject at the expert review stage carried out by two material experts. The types of data used in this study are qualitative data and quantitative data. The results of the study are (1) audio-visual poster media based on a scientific approach. (2) the validity of audio-visual poster media based on a scientific approach by obtaining an average score from material experts, learning media experts, and learning design experts of 4.50 with a very valid category. (3) the practicality analysis filled in by the teacher obtained an average score of 4.81 with a very valid category. (4) the practicality analysis filled in by students individually and in small groups obtained an average score of 4.59 and 4.56 with a very valid category. Based on this, it can be concluded that the audio-visual poster media based on a scientific approach to the water cycle material in grade V of elementary school is declared valid with a very good qualification.

Abstract

The rapid development of the world of education requires students to have critical thinking skills and scientific process skills in order to be able to face various problems in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the effect of critical thinking skills on scientific process skills on the subject of material elasticity and Hooke's law. The type of research used in this study is associative quantitative research. The population used was all students with a sample of 30 grade XI students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instruments used were essay tests and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical tests, the assumption test was the normality test and linearity test, and the hypothesis test was a simple linear regression test. The results of the descriptive statistical test showed that the critical thinking skills of students in each State High School were different, as well as the science process skills of students in each State High School were also different. The results of the normality test showed that the data was normally distributed with sig. > 0.05, then the results of the linearity test showed linear data with sig. > 0.05, and the results of the simple linear regression test showed that there was an influence between critical thinking skills and science process skills with a sig. < 0.05. So, it can be concluded that critical thinking skills influence scientific process skills in material elasticity and Hooke's law.

Abstract

The utilization of teacher-centered learning models has been shown to adversely affect students' academic performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Index Card Match teaching method on the academic outcomes of eighth-grade students in the subject of Pancasila Education. The research employed an experimental method with a quantitative approach. A sample size of 70 students was selected using nonprobability sampling through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out via documentation and tests. Hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate a significant impact of the Index Card Match teaching method on the academic performance of eighth-grade students. This is evidenced by the data analysis, which revealed a significance value of 0.000 using simple linear regression. This value signifies that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, given that the obtained significance value (0.000) is less than 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Index Card Match teaching method has a significant effect on the academic outcomes of eighth-grade students in the subject of Pancasila Education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low English speaking skills of students and the less than optimal use of learning media in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to create learning media that can improve the speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in English. This study used the ADDIE model. The subjects were material experts, learning media experts, practitioners, and students in fourth grade of elementary school. The purpose was to measure their level of English speaking skills. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Observation guidelines, interview guidelines, assessment scale sheets, and questionnaire sheets were the tools used to collect data. A total of 34 students from fourth grade of elementary school were involved in the product trial. To determine the effectiveness of the product, a t-test with correlated samples was used to analyze data from the pre- and post-test results. The results showed that the mobile-assisted language teaching tool (MALL) based on contextual problems was valid. Thus, the results of expert and practitioner evaluations determine the validity and effectiveness of the developed contextual problems.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that many students still have not mastered the skills of PLC-based control systems in accordance with the learning objectives. This is because the learning media is only a simulation using buttons and pilot lights without using the original components. The aims of this study is to examine and reveal the effectiveness of the outseal PLC-based PLC training kit in improving students' practical skills in PLC-based control systems. Pre-experiment one group pre-test and post-test is the research methodology used in this study, with a research sample of 32 students from the electrical power installation engineering department vocational school. The research data were collected using a skill assessment questionnaire and analyzed using paired sample t-test analysis technique and effect size test. The results revealed that the t-value obtained was 7.915 with a significance of 0.000 and a value of d = 1.701. These results show differences in students' skills after and before using the training kit that is applied and proven to improve student skills significantly. Thus, it is proven that this training kit effectively improves vocational students' skills. Based on these results, vocational high schools are expected to apply this training kit to facilitate learning and improve students' PLC-based control system skills.
