Abstract

Pak Choy is one of the economic valuable vegetables in Indonesia. Thisresearch was aimed to increase the growth and productivity of three varieties of PakChoi through the variation of electrical conductivity (EC) rates in the hydroponicsolution. The complete randomized factorial was used in ths research. They were threevarieties of he variety of Pak Choy (V1 is Green, V2 is Green Fut Choi, V3 is GreenFortune) and four EC rates {1.5 (E1), 2.0 (E2), 2.5 (E3), 3.0 (E4) mS/cm}. The varietyof Pak Choy gave significant differentiation to all of the affect to the numbers of leaves,root length and the numbers of chlorophylls. The regression analisys was showed thatincreasing of the mg EC rates would increase the number of chlorophylls of all PakChoi varieties. The interaction between Pakchoi varieties and the EC rates show incanopy diametesr, that the combination in V2, differences were found in E4 and E2 andthe best value was found in V2E4 at 10 DAP (Day After Planted). In 15 DAP, canopydiameters in V2 and V3 were not different. In V1, differences were found among E1,E2, and E4. The best value was found in V2E3 at 15 DAP.

Abstract

Food security is one of the most important factors for the nation building because it has a direct impact to the quality of human resource empowerment. Rice has been the staple food for the majority of Indonesian people. Therefore rice procurement and availability is a strategic issue for the government of Indonesia. The aim of this research is to design the rice food security management support system (SPM-beras). The support system major function is to monitor and control the rice food security in availability and accessibility aspects in the regency level. Based on the user requirements analysis and system identification, the SPM-beras was designed to fulfill the needs of the executives, the heads of department in the regency government and the NGO’s Food Security Watcher. The structure of SPM-beras comprises the Decision Support System (DSS), the Expert System (ES) and the Executives Information System (EIS). The Decision Support System comprises the following models: (1) the rice sufficiency, (2) the rice price, (3) the rice inventory, (4) food security performance, and (5) the rice food security simulation facility. Based on the data obtained in Mei 2010 from 23 districts in the Bekasi Regency, we found that 3 districts had critical rice insufficiency, or in the critical deficit position. 2 other districts had food security performance level below acceptable standard. Abstract

This study aims to understand the effect of vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) toward mortality and goat spermatozoa percentage of life in room temperature. The study method using experiment method with Rancangan Acak Kelompok (Group Random Program) in time series with 5 Riboflavin additional treatments and 6 ejaculates as a group. The treatment is concentration of vitamin B2 (PO = control) PO = 0 μg/ml, P1 = 1 μg/ml, P2 = 4 μg/ml, P3 = 7 μg/ml, and P4 = 10 μg/ml. The variable that observed is motility and viability. The observation is conducted after dilution WO = 0 hour, W1 = 2 hours, W2 = 4 hours, W3 = 6 hours, and W4 = 8 hours. The study result shows that treatment adding vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) in Tris dilution under room temperature has no significant differences (P>0,05) toward motility and life percentage. Time period of treatment has significant impact (P<0,01) toward motility and viability. There is no interaction between treatment and observation time period (P>0,05).

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the effect of stocking density on the survival and growth of Dumbo fish fry raised in a recirculated system. The study was conducted at the the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Department of Aquaculture and Fishery Business and Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Agribusiness and Food Technology, Djuanda University from May to September 2010.A completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications was used. Treatments consisted of stocking density rates of 20, 30, 40, and 50 fish/l. Tanks sized 50x30x30 cm3 were filled in with 25 liter water and fish fry sized 2.24-2.30 cm in the corresponding stocking density rates. Feeding was done ad libitum twice a day at 09.00 and 16.00. Parameters measured included survivability rate, body length growth, daily weight gain, feed efficiency, protein retention, and water quality.Results showed that stocking density gave significant effects (P<0.05) on survivability rate, body length growth, and daily weight gain but not (P>0.05) on feed efficiency and protein retention. The highest survivability rate, body length growth, and daily weight gain of 66.00%; 2.13 cm; and 5.54%, respectively, were obtained in stocking density of 20 fish/l. The quality of water used as a medium of catfish fry raising in each treatment during the experimental period was found to be within good range for the survival and growth of the fry. It was concluded that improving stocking density from 20 to 50 fish/l did not improve Dumbo catfish fry survival and growth rates. Meanwhile, the use of recirculated system was found to maintain medium water quality.

Abstract

Cleaner production is not only about changing raw materials, processes and products. It is also about changing attitudes and behaviour of all stakeholder. An understanding of the dynamics of change within and external organisations undertaking cleaner production can help to improve the success for implementation. The purpose of this study was to provide insight into the range of key factors that are potentially relevant to the success of cleaner production implementation on crumb rubber industry based on expert opinion and organizational perception. Factor analysis techniques with principal component and prospective analysis were aplied to extract that factors, while correlation analysis was used to inference the influence the organizational factors with cleaner producion performance. Principal component analysis resulted 13 factors, namely: internal communication, evaluation tools, environmental benefit, employee ability, profesional team, incentive system, cleaner prodution centre, community consultation, regulation, operational policy, environmental investment, green consumers, and environment requisite. The correlation of those factors with cleaner production performance at crumb rubber industry was not good (rs < 0,5). Based on prospective analysis, critical factors of cleaner production system implementation were culture, raw material, crumb rubber product, regulation, economic benefit, cleaner production information, environmental management system, and global market trend.KAJIAN FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHIIMPLEMENTASI SISTEM PRODUKSI BERSIHPADA AGROINDUSTRI KARET REMAH

Abstract

The level of competition among suppliers of tomato is very tight. Furthurmore with the flood of imported products. In order to maintain continuity of its business, the company seeks to develop its business strategy. Research in fresh Pacet Company by analyzing internal and external factors known at the position of growth strategies through a strategy of concentration by implementing horizontal integration strategies or stability. This strategy is supported by the analysis of marketing margins in order to strengthen the company's strategy in gaining a profit.
