Abstract

Indonesia has been establishing tourism as the leading industry sector because it's 22,4% growth in 2019. The establishment of the tourism sector as the leading industry sector must be supported by good development and management. To achieve development goals, local communities must involve in the tourism sector. This research is conducted to find out the involvement of Batu Cermin Village's community on developing and managing tourist destinations. The data collection techniques used in this study are interviews and observations. From this research found that the participation of local communities in Batu Cermin Village can be categorized into five types of participation: idea contribution, work participation, expertise participation, material participation, and fund contribution. Participation of local communities in Batu Cemin is important because the accurate information is only owned by local people, besides that community trust is needed for the successful implementation of policies. There is also some supporting factor and obstacle of community involvement in Batu Cerim. The supporting factor is managerial of the which been moved to Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). The obstacles to the involvement of the local community in Batu Cermin Village are the lack of knowledge about tourism issues, lack of the awareness of destination ownership, and lack of ability to see the economic opportunities.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the vital economic sectors for local communities in Indonesia this makes the tourism development in every region is growing rapidly. However, there are obstacles faced during the development, so it requires interventions from local government to assist and support the local people. Using a qualitative approach, this research aims to examine the role of the village government in Keditan Village, District of Ngablak, Magelang Regency, in increasing support of people towards the ongoing tourism development. The result of the research shows that the government of Keditan have taken the role in supporting the people, but such role is not yet optimal. Researcher sees that it needs some further mentoring from stakeholders to support the village government to implement that role.

Abstract

Benchmarks of the success of a tourist attraction can be seen from the involvement of the community. Community based tourism is a form of tourism development that aims to empower people in independence and decision making. This study aims to determine and analyze the involvement of local communities in the development of tourism in the Palawa’ Village and identify any obstacles that affect the involvement of local communities in the development of Palawa’ Village. This research was conducted for 6 months from September 2019. Researchers used data collection methods through interviews, observations, and documentation to the management or manager of Palawa’ Village and the community and used a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that lack of community involvement in Palawa’ Village. This is because not all communities have a traditional house (Tongkonan) so they cannot be directly involved and only become spectators in every activity that is held. The internal factors that influence community involvement are the low quality of education so that limited knowledge is very influential on how to manage good tourism businesses and existing entrepreneurial management knowledge. While externally, there is a lack of cooperation between tourism managers and outsiders such as the Culture and Tourism Office, Regional Planning Agency (Bappeda), Youth Organization and Pokdarwis. Researchers provide recommendations to managers to provide counseling or training to the community so that community knowledge about tourism is higher, Involving all communities and stakeholders in the development of Palawa’ Village attractions and increasing good cooperation between managers and outsiders.

Abstract

The Salatiga City Government has launched an electronic market levy (market e-retribution) which is implemented by the Salatiga City Trade Office. Market e-retribution is an electronic market retribution management system innovation to improve the quality of services that are transparent and accountable, minimize revenue leakage and illegal levies, as well as orderly irregularities in market retribution for compulsory levies. Market e-retribution is included in the regional non-cash transaction implementation agenda in the City of Salatiga. The application of new market e-retribution innovations was carried out in two traditional markets, namely Blauran I Market and Pasar Raya I as a pilot project before being implemented in other traditional markets. This article is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This article will focus on discussing the innovation of market e-retribution in the City of Salatiga.

Abstract

Strengthening the role of village communities must be carried out in order to build reform for the village itself. One of the most prominent social empathy attitudes as a symptom of rural community life is mutual cooperation. In the Kore-Metan traditional practice, the people of Aiteas Village, Municipio Manatuto, Timor Leste also apply the principle of mutual cooperation. In the effort to develop tradition, the most competent is the customary leader, because he is the informal leader of the tribe. This study aims to determine the role of informal leaders in the practice of Kore-Metan tradition in Aiteas Village. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. Data obtained by interview. The research was conducted in Aiteas Village, Posto Administrative Manatuto, Municipio Manatuto, Timor Leste. Based on the research results, the practice of the Kore-Metan tradition has a function for the people of Aiteas Village: First, the Kore-Metan tradition is a tradition passed down from generation to generation as a useful historical heritage. Second, it gives legitimacy to the beliefs, institutions and rules that already exist in Aiteas Village. Third, the Kore-Metan tradition provides a convincing symbol of collective identity, in this case loyalty to traditional ties and local cultural values. Fourth, the Kore-Metan tradition as a means of consolation. The role of the traditional leader of Aiteas Village is very important in the practice of the Kore-Metan tradition. The role of the Traditional Leader of Desa Aiteas in the practice of the Kore-Metan tradition, namely first, to give direction to the socialization process; second, the inheritor of traditions, beliefs, values, norms and knowledge; third, to unite society; and fourth, turn on the control control system. Social institutions through the role of the Traditional Chairman of Aiteas Village in the practice of the Kore-Metan tradition can be a means for building the character of the Aiteas Village community, because these social institutions contain the values ​​of mutual cooperation, responsibility, adherence to customary values, as well as community unity and integrity.

Abstract

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow (2016) merupakan satu dari trilogi Sapiens karya sejarawan berkebangsaan Israel, Yuval Noah Harari, professor Sejarah di the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Karena ketiga karya tersebut saling terkait, ada baiknya saya menyebut juga dua karya lainnya, yaitu Homo Sapiens (2014) dan 21 Lessons for the 21st Century (2018). Ketiga buku ini membahas evolusi manusia (homo) berspesies sapiens (bijak) melalui tiga revolusi, diawali revolusi kognitif (70.000 tahun lalu), revolusi agrikultural (12.000 tahun lalu) dan revolusi sains (diawali sejak 500 tahun lalu). Kalau Homo Sapiens (sebagai karya terdahulu) membahas masa lalu manusia sapiens yang menyerobot dari antara berbagai spesies kehidupan dan menempatkan diri sebagai pemenang di puncak evolusi, maka Homo Deus (karya kedua) membahas masa depan ‘kepunahan’ Homo sapiens. Sementara trilogi terakhir yaitu 21 Lessons membahas masa kini-nya Homo sapiens, dimana teks (narasi) sebagai penuntun perjalanan sejarah makluk ‘bijak’ ini. Kemampuan mencipta narasi membuat homo sapiens mengungguli homo lainnya karena dengan itu Homo sapiens dapat mengkonsolidasi kelompok besar menjadi kekuatan untuk menghadapi makhluk lain.
