This study aims to determine whether there is a significant influence between mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught using cooperative learning pair check model is higher than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught by the lecture method in Mathematics teaching planning courses. The population in this study were all V semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP UNA, taking a sample of two semesters totaling 72 students through a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study from the experimental semester obtained an average pretest of 65.1 and posttest average of 80.8. Whereas from the semester of control the average pretest was 65.5 and the posttest average was 75.1. Analysis of posttest data using the t test at the level of α = 0.05 obtained tcount = 2.75 while t table = 1.98 turned out t_count> t_tabel so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Then it can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving abilities of students taught by using the pair check learning model are higher than the students' mathematical problem solving abilities taught by the lecture method.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an influence of advance organizer learning models on the learning outcomes of mathematics students. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest posttest control group design. The variables in this study consist of two types, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable. In this study, the independent variable is the advance organizer and conventional learning learning model, while the dependent variable in this study is the learning outcomes of mathematics student learning outcomes in the subject of algebraic structure. The population of this study was all the fifth semester mathematics students of UMN Al-Washliyah Medan. The research sample was V-C class (control class) and V-D class (experimental class). This research aim to : (1) To analyse validity of study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning, (2) To analyse effectiveness of study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning, (3) To analyse the improvement of ability mathematical reasoning student by using study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed.. Research type used is development research by using modification of development model 4-D. This Research step is define, design, develop and disseminate. In this research is compiled by peripheral of study and instrument that is : lesson plan, sheet of student activity, teacher book, student book, tes of ability of reasoning. Try out conducted atstudent of class VIII-A as much 23 people and VII-B as much 25 people in MTS. Cerdas Murni Medan. Matematika merupakan pelajaran yang masih dianggap sulit oleh sebagian siswa, namun tidak jarang pula siswa yang mampu berprestasi pada pelajaran ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prevalensi belajar yang dilakukan oleh siswa berprestasi pada mata pelajaran matematika di lembaga pendidikan Islam di Pekalongan tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Informan ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposif sampling dengan kriteria siswa madrasah Tsanawiyah Hidayatul Athfal Pekalongan, mempunyai nilai Ujian Nasional minimal 8 pada mata pelajaran matematika. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa prevalensi belajar matematika siswa berprestasi pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah hidayatul Athfal yakni (1) prevalensi belajar matematika saat disekolahan meliputi; fokus saat guru menjelaskan, mencatat hal penting dari penjelasan guru, aktif bertanya dan menjawab (2) prevalensi belajar matematika ketika dirumah meliputi; memiliki jadwal belajar, menghafal pelajaran, mengulang materi pelajaran, disiplin belajar, mengerjakan tugas, menambah waktu belajar, membaca dan membuat catatan.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) Apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis melalui Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah di kelas VIII lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori. (2) Apakah peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah di kelas VIII lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori (3) Bagaimana proses jawaban dari siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini siswa SMP Negeri 28 Medan dan SMP Negeri 36 Medan. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara random dengan mengacak kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari: (1) tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan materi kubus dan balok (2) angket motivasi belajar siswa. Adapun tes yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data adalah berbentuk uraian. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Analisis statistik data dilakukan dengan analisis uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori. Dimana indikator memahami masalah lebih tinggi dari ketiga indikator lainnya. (2) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa yang melalui model pembelajaran berbasis masalah lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori. Dimana motivasi intrinsik lebih tinggi daripada motivasi ekstrinsik. Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis antara siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, (2) Interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMAN 1 Binjai Kabupaten Langkat. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas X diambil secara acak sebanyak 2 kelas berjumlah 72 orang siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan Uji ANAVA Dua Jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis antara siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, (2) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Pembelajaran Penemuan Terbimbing, dan Penalaran Matematis

AbstractThis study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the use of Camtasia-based audio visual media onstudents' mathematics learning outcomes in class XI Mathematical Logic Material of Muhammadiyah 5Vocational School in Asahan Regency 2016/2017 Academic Year. This type of research is quasiexperimental, which is the sample of the study there are 2 classes (class XI AP-1 and XI AP-2) taken incluster random.Then given a different treatment, the experimental class with the conventional Visual Assisted MediaLearning learning model and the control class with conventional methods. After the learning was completed,posttest was obtained with the results of the experimental class averages 78.7 and the control class 74.7. This study aims to find out: whether an increase in understanding of mathematical concepts students who learn using contextual approaches is better than students who get conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population of this study was seventh grade students of junior high school. Sample selection is done by cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used is concept understanding tests. The instrument was stated to have fulfilled the requirements for content validity, and the reliability coefficient was 0.77. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and parametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis was carried out by analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). The findings of this study are that there is an increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use contextual learning better than students who use conventional learning. From the results of the study it is suggested: (1) Learning with a contextual approach is one alternative for mathematics teachers in presenting mathematics subject matter (2) to other researchers who can continue their research on other subjects and mathematical abilities using a contextual approach

Abstract This research was conducted based on the fact that there was a lack in student’s mathematical connection ability. The aim of this research was to examine the enhancement of student’s mathematical connection ability by Alberta model inquiry learning. This research used nonequivalent control group design. Population of this research was all engineering faculty UNA, and the samples were two classes selected by using purposive sampling technique, in which they were used as an experimental class and control class. The experimental class was treated by Alberta Model inquiry learning and control class by conventional learning. Instruments used in this research were mathematics connection ability test and observation sheet. Results showed that student’s mathematical connection ability enhancement in students received Alberta model inquiry learning was better than students who received conventional learning. This study aims to analyze the profile of SMPN 1 Lemahabang mathematics teacher implicating or not in developing self-concept of students and how much influence the profile of SMPN 1 Lemahabang teacher in developing self-concept of students. This research is a quantitative study using the One ShotCase Study design, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling and a sample of 5 mathematics teachers and 178 students of Lemahabang Middle School was selected. The research method used is the teacher performance appraisal (PKG) and questionnaire/questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the profile of mathematics teachers according to the results of teacher performance evaluations has an average value of 85.43% which falls into the good category. Strengthened by the mathematics teacher's profile according to student perceptions of an average score of 73.86% which is included in the medium category (2) students' self-concept has an average value of 65.23% which is included in the medium category (3) based on Data analysis shows that the mathematics teacher's profile has implications in building students' self-concepts. This can be seen from the price of t count = -0.836 with a significance value of -0.836 <0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there are implications for the teacher's profile in developing students' self-concept
