Abstract

This research is essential to empower the understanding of the concept of invertebrate material that is difficult to observe because its habitat is in seawater. This research aims to reveal the effectiveness of the Reading Concept Map Connection Discussion Evaluation (RCCDE) learning model on students' conceptual understanding of Seawater Invertebrates. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research data were analyzed using the N-gain score. The analysis results showed that the class average N-gain score was 0.71, which was greater than the N-gain score of 0.7 (g > 0.7). This means that the RCCDE model is effective for students in understanding the concept of seawater invertebrates because it has high criteria. The individual average normalized gain analysis results found 20 students with a high standard of g > 0.7 and 14 students with a gain score of 0.3 > g 0.7. On the medium criterion, there were no students with a score of g 0.3. This shows the effectiveness of the RCCDE syntax in empowering concept understanding. Students play an active role in learning activities to find their problems and look for answers until they find answers and solutions.

Abstract

The Bodogol Education and Nature Conservation Center (PPKA) area is a representative area for lowland mountain tropical forest ecosystems on the island of Java so that the biodiversity in this area is quite high. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of lichens found in the Rasamala and Cikaweni lines of PPKA Bodogol, Sukabumi, West Java. Biodiversity research is important because of the presence of lichens as part of biodiversity that is beneficial to the ecosystem.  The research method used is descriptive with exploratory techniques. Determination of trees that contain lichens is done by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that in both pathways, lichens with crustose talus type dominated. On the Rasamala Line, 7 types of lichens were found, while on the Cikaweni Line, 5 types of lichens were found. The species diversity (H') of lichens in the Rasamala pathway was 1.51 while in the Cikaweni route it was 1.18. So based on the Shannon-Wienner formula, the biodiversity in the Rasamala and Cikaweni trails is in the medium category.

Abstract

21st Century provides many challenges, especially for the world of education. Students are expected to acquire several skills that can support their lives in order to compete in the future. One important skill is creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are a way of thinking based on information to find solutions to a problem that is emphasized on the quantity, appropriateness and diversity of answers. Some observations show the low creative thinking skills of students because the empowerment of creative thinking skills is still lacking in learning in Indonesia. One solution that can be done in improving creative thinking skills is to choose the right learning model in this case the researcher uses the ERCoRe learning model. This study aims to look at the effect of the ERCoRe learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental. Analysis of the data used is covariance analysis. Conclusions based on the results of the analysis there is an effect of 52,006 on the ERCoRe learning model while the conventional learning model is only 43,515 on students' critical thinking skills compared to conventional strategies.

Abstract

South Sorong, West Papua, is one of the areas that produce rebon shrimp. Rebon shrimp can be made into fermented products such as rebon shrimp paste (terasi) or acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok). Terasi is a food additive that functions as a seasoning or flavoring, while cincalok is a fermented food added with salt and rice. The objective of this study was to determine the contamination of E. coli and Salmonella in fermented rebon shrimp products. This study was a descriptive study by describing the presence or absence of contamination by E. coli and Salmonella sp. on rebon shrimp paste (terasi) and acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok). The study concluded that the samples of rebon shrimp paste (terasi) and acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok) in South Sorong were safe from contamination by Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. According to the Indonesian National Standards Agency, fermented fish products with or without salt, good and suitable products for consumption are those that are negative for Salmonella, V. cholera, Escherichia coli with a limit of <3 MPN/g and Staphylococcus aureus should be <1 x103 colonies/g.
