Abstract

The use of hand phone (HP) as a means of communication is prevalent in all societies in Indonesia. HP-based applications, of course, be a very useful innovation and facilitate all parties to operate the application. Java (J2ME) -based Technology is able to create applications that can be installed almost in all types of HP that exist in Indonesia. How it works using the HP-based applications for Disaster Information System are: the application based on Java (J2ME) installed on HP, then the application will be connected to web service on the Disaster Information System Server. In addition to uploading images, photos or video an event (events), the application is also equipped with the detection of spatial coordinates of the scene.

Abstract

In promoting the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of government service institutions, the Government of Indonesia issued Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2003 on e-Government. The directive requested that all government institutions in Indonesia should take advantage of ICT to improve public services. In line with this, the Ministry of Agriculture has launched several efforts to support the implementation of Presidential Instruction. One of these efforts is the implementation of the Web Site Competition between Work units under the Ministry. The contest has been held since 2004. The participants were grouped into three categories: 1. Directorate General / Agency 2. Provincial Agricultural Office 3. District Agriculture Office. To carry out the website competition, the Ministry of Agriculture has appointed a five person jury. To evaluate whether there are significant differences between the judges in scoring on the website which was considered and the factors that may affect the assessment, some analysis has been done. The variables included in the analysis was judge scores, level of institution, previous achievements in the competition, the location of both institutions in Java and outside Java. The statistical methods used in the analysis are Multiple Linear Regression and Variance Analysis. The analysis uses data from the Ministry of Agriculture Web Site Competition 2008-2010.

Abstract

Technology is one important factor that supports accuracy result of a disease in health. Along with technology, one?s knowledge could be broadening so he can make one exact decision about specific disease to get maximal result. Based on above considerations, it is designed a supporting decision-making system based on entered data, processed using weighting in AHP to know the result. The programming language is using PHP and the database using MySQL. The designing result could help doctors to choose specific medicine for the patients and help them to find information about cardiac failure and what stages to be done to help the patients healing.

Abstract

Measuring distance from an object can be conducted in a variety of ways, including by making use of distance measuring sensors such as ultrasonic sensors, or using the approach based vision system. This last mode has advantages in terms of flexibility, namely a monitored object has relatively no restrictions characteristic of the materials used at the same time it also has its own difficulties associated with object orientation and state of the room where the object is located. To overcome this problem, so this study examines the possibility of using stereo vision to measure the distance to an object. The system was developed starting from image extraction, information extraction characteristics of the objects contained in the image and visual distance measurement process with 2 separate cameras placed in a distance of 70 cm. The measurement object can be in the range of 50 cm - 130 cm with a percentage error of 5:53%. Lighting conditions (homogeneity and intensity) has a great influence on the accuracy of the measurement results.

Abstract

Allegro is a Supply Chain Management software which is used by one of the Buying Agent that has branches all over the world. Allegro is a tailor-made application specially build for the Buying Agent. Allegro thas a lot of capability, however it is not being used optimally. This paper analyszes the software such that it can be used optimally to support the company (Buying Agent) strategically and help the company to perform better by using Balance Score Card and KPI generated by the use of the system. The KPI is derived from the Business Objectives and the data in fact are all available in Allegro which is currently not used. As a conclusion, the writer suggested using all features available from Allegro and hence it will prove the overall performance of the company.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and design the application of e-service portal to help Marketing BINUS university to improve the speed and ease of service for Prospect students with the integration of transaction and information services required prospective students, and can be presented in a personalized to adds its own interesting experience for user. It would create a competitive advantage of the University which also potentially triggering an increase in the number of intake students. The methodology used is the method of analysis, which reviews and interviews conducted directly to the field, distributing questionnaires, observing and analyzing the data and needs, and using the design method, which includes design of business models, user interface design and database design. Results to be achieved is a web portal, where the system can facilitate prospective students to obtain the desired information services in full, and with a presentation that can be personalized and make transactions easier and faster. Conclusions obtained are BINUS University can take advantage of e-service in a web portal for prospective new students as supporting its competitive advantage in the utilization of information technology and support one of its primary missions to create service excellence in all fields.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a system that could give information to customers about the provided product and also as the order media. The research method used is based on the principle of The Seven Stages of Internet Marketing to create e-marketing application, also library research, field research, analysis and designing methodology by doing survey to PT JEAH and analyzing the result. So far, the transaction process of PT JEAH is done through manual that is customer came to the store to do purchase transaction. After the e-marketing application is done, it is hoped that could give better service to customers. E-marketing concept in this system will increase efficiency and affectivity especially into order process and product information to community. Based on the research, it is concluded that with this e-marketing application as the center information and purchase media, it is hoped that the company could get loyalty from the customers and gather new market in online users.

Abstract

Technology improvement has brought much changes in how businesses and organizations have to run properly in global competitions. But the most important thing is the changing in organizations and people who will operate with the integrations systems. Resistance always happens in every implementations and it will be the main problems in every company. In this paper, it will be explored more in details about the cause and effect from the changes that will happens before and after the implementations, including how to utilize the result of the implementations in order to get the benefits for the business. Another important things are including the strategy and planning of changes that should be effectively implemented and given the maximum contributions to support the future development and synergy with business planning. This paper is also given the guidance about how to act and do some preventive actions in managing better ways in setting up the planning of changes in implementations of Information Technology and systems in the best ways.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the constraints and the distribution system of learning information, and designing a web-based application that can be accessed 24 hours and support the dissemination of information relating to school and improving the quality of their students. The research method used was a field survey, literature, and interviews. UML design methodology covers the development, creation of database design and screen design. The results achieved are a school administration application that is used for learning information. The application also provides information on school officials. With this application, can facilitate the teachers and administration in making the charging and management of the information in high school. The conclusion was that with this application, the efficiency and effectiveness of time increases, the error value calculation is minimized. In addition, with this application, it also can improve the performance of teachers and administration. However, it is expected for the future, these applications can be developed better.

Abstract

The internet and digital world is one thing that needs to be taken into account by the Company. Business through Internet, known as e-business, is another way to increase the relation between company and customers or prospective customers. Analysis from the view point of customers and the integration of technologies was conducted on 2 examples sites that well known in doing online business but have different history on how it started the e-commerce. They are Amazon and Aquarelle. By comparing the two sites, the characteristics of e-commerce sites could be studied. As a result, there are striking differences between these two sites, where Amazon is more oriented to sales, while Aquarelle more on customer-oriented impact to the design and implementation of their e-business.
