Abstract

For each company, disasters may have diverse impacts either financially or non-financially. Therefore, a company requires a business continuity plan. One important factor in developing such plan is Business Impact Analysis (BIA). With BIA, a company can identify and analyze Critical Business Functions (CBFs) and potential impacts on the business whether operationally or financially, and further, business recovery priority, strategy and solution can be determined following a disaster.Methodologies used in developing this BIA are quantitativeand qualitative where for aspects related to financials, quantitive method is used. Meanwhile, for those aspects\ related to non-financial areas, qualitative method is used. The development of this BIA was done through the dissemination of questionnaires to 62 business units in PT Bank XYZ. To draw the BIA, eight parameters were used, where as for the final result, there were three criticality levels found in the business units of PT Bank XYZ, i.e. very critical level - 18 business units (29%), critical level - 23 business units (37%) and less critical level – 21 business units (34%). In addition, there were 71 applications used by CBFs. Based on the results of this study, PT Bank XYZ can determine the priority and key strategies for business units that require handling and recovery when a disaster occurs to maintain the bank's business operation's continuity and sustainability.Withthat, the company can minimize the potential loss resulted from a disaster.

Abstract

The goal for implementing this system is to help users manage and track history about their eat pattern, choose proper food for body’s need, and pick restaurants. Methodology used for this research contains three parts, which is analysis, design, and literature study. In requirement analysis, we do some interview with nutritionist and food provider, analysis iOS user, compare with same kind of application, and identify components that we need. In design method, we use Unified Modelling Language approach, ERD design, and user interface design. The result is a food planning mobile application with iOS platform. This application can help user manage and track their eat pattern, help user choose balanced food that suitable for their body, and inform user where they can get food they plan to eat.

Abstract

Bushing is one of the eminent product of PT Indokarlo Mighty. The company requires some suppliers of iron cutting services to continue providing high qualified raw materials. The quality is the accuracy of the intended length of the products which is able to meet the requirements of the requested length. The purpose of this study is to determine what factors caused the defect on the length of the products. In addition, it is objected to provide appropriate solutions to eliminate to the factors, so that the number of defected products can be reduced. This study uses the methodology of Six Sigma improvement models Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) to make improvements in the quality of services provided by PT Argatama Multi Agung, while the improvement phase uses Design of Experiment (DOE) to find the machine configuration that can produce the best quality products. A significant increase in sigma is obtained from the conducted research.

Abstract

Binus as an information technology-based campus, the campus electricity needs swell with the rising costs. Energy crisis threat needs to be observed in order to optimally support the operation of the building. To achieve energy savings on Binus Syahdan, an energy audit needs to be done with strategic measures related to saving HVAC systems, lighting and other utilities. Through observation, evaluation of energy utilization can be practiced to obtain recommendation and implementation of efficient energy management. From the results of energy audits and implementation of energy savings within five months, the saving reaches 33.5% on average each month. Thus Binus can save operating costs, have better work productivity and foster a culture of saving that can be continued for other Binus campuses. Sustainability of this activity is expected to bring Binus as energy-efficient campus pioneer in Indonesia, as a positive response to national energy saving programs.

Abstract

Data warehouse and data mining is used to extract useful information and has a specific meaning and to develop a real relationship between some variables stored in the data/data warehouse. A data warehouse is appropriately designed and added a requirement to provide appropriate data and is useful in making better decisions. Hardware and software facilitate adequate access to such data, analyze and display the results interactively. Data mining software is a highly effective tool that can be used to interrogate the data contained in the data warehouse in order to find a relationship (Neary 1999). This study conducts some literature studies applies some models and case studies in a higher education institution, in terms of the benefits, functions and development. The case study conducted is objected to see the trend and prediction of the number of students who drop out (DO).

Abstract

Types of rigid pavement for road has been widely used in Indonesia, ranging from toll roads to the outer town road. Rigid pavement is considered more powerful than the flexible pavement. In other words, rigid pavement is expected to have a longer service life and minimal maintenance. The construction cost for rigid pavement is more expensive compared to flexible pavement. While the need for rigid pavement maintenance is cheaper than for flexible pavement. Seen from investment point of view, rigid pavement is more profitable than flexible pavement, because the annual fee required for rigid pavement is less. Due to the comparations, an analysis is performed in this study to select which type of pavement is best used in the future.
