Abstract

Tourist place navigation application becomes more important for travelers, especially backpackers. Previous research had produced applications which can only show the route from the position of traveler to tourist place with map shown. The goal of the research is to use the radius and rating method that is still rare in the community to navigate tourist place. Output of the research is a GPS-based application that can display the search results of tourist sites based on rating and radius method, route from the traveler to the destination place, and description of the place. Development method used waterfall that contained user requirement, analysis, design, coding and testing, implementation, and maintenance. Conclusion of the research has shown that the developed application provided convenience in searching tourist places based on radius and rating, displaying route, and description of tourist places.

Abstract

Examination is extremely critical in educational institutions as it is used as an indicator of student’s learning quality achievement. Usually, there are two types of exams – Mid-Term and Final exams. The exam process consists of 3 processes, namely exam preparation, the exam itself, and grading submission. The control process, confidentiality, and efficiency are the main focus in examination improvement. Therefore, to provide the best solution for any potential problems, the researcher comprehensively conducted interviews, field study, problem identification, and analysis. The researcher chooses the Plan-Do-Act-Check method to ensure the best solution. Finally, cost-benefit analysis was run to measure the success of the system implementation. There are two types of benefit, tangible and intangible. This project resulted in a new exam flow procedure, exam information system, and cost-benefit analysis.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the evaluation about the performance of Sales information system in current system in PT PKJ. General control and application control had contributed in reducing any risk that migh occur in daily operations. Some recommendations had been submitted to the management in order to prevent any fraud or leak in any financial control. To improve the security and control in every process in sales and operational, system should have a proper control in input and output. Standarizations must be implemented in every step in applications to reduce the treats and vulnerabilities. This research can be used as a model for small medium company to grow better with proper control using optimalization of Information System and Technology in every aspect in the management.

Abstract

PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Semarang is one of the largest poultry feed companies in Indonesia. To store the finished products that are ready to be distributed, it needs a finished goods warehouse. To minimize the wastes that occur in the process of warehousing the finished goods, the implementation of lean warehouse is required. The core process of finished goods warehouse is the process of putting bag that has been through the process of pallets packing, and then transporting the pallets contained bags of feed at finished goods warehouses and the process of unloading food from the finished goods warehouse to the distribution truck. With the implementation of the lean warehouse, we can know whether the activities are value added or not, to be identified later which type of waste happened. Opinions of stakeholders regarding the waste that must be eliminated first need to be determined by questionnaires. Based on the results of the questionnaires, three top wastes are selected to be identified the cause by using fishbone diagram. They can be repaired by using the implementation of 5S, namely Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke. Defect waste can be minimized by selecting pallet, putting sack correctly, forklift line clearance, applying working procedures, and creating cleaning schedule. Next, overprocessing waste is minimized by removing unnecessary items, putting based on the date of manufacture, and manufacture of feed plan. Inventory waste is minimized by removing junks, putting feed based on the expired date, and cleaning the barn

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop a web-based-online-stock-simulation application applying Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology. The web-based application is prefered for user’s convenience and comfort since it does not require any software to be installed on the client side and is also accessable anywhere and anytime with internet connection availability. The application is developed by means of analysis and design towards the technology needed to establish the connectivity between servers through internet as well as database analysis and design. The data are real time derived from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and forwarded through an official data vendor PT XYZ. Data from the IDX will be captured by a middleware application at PT XYZ and forwarded to www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested and succesfully run by around 700 users. This tool is expected to provide a kind of education and motivation to beginner-level investors who want to be engaged with the stock-trading activities.

Abstract

The research aimed to develop expert system for helping lecturers to decide which courses to be taken by students in the next semester. The expert system contained specific pieces of knowledge to solve specific problems involved in the forms of system development and maintenance. This expert system was in the form of a website using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The researcher used the Ripple Down Rules (RDR) method to identify the courses by putting forward the questions so that the system could decide which courses the students should take in next semester. The result shows that this web-based expert system can identify which courses that the students have to enroll after the students have answered questions generated by the system. The available data on the courses in the system adapt to the rules, so it is in line with the enrolled courses.

Abstract

Nowadays a lot of school would like to be a digital school or e-school. They may face lot of problems due to the sudden transition from conventional school to digitalized school. Some major problems are both lacks of human resources or man power and the basic knowledge about technology itself. Based on survey, the most common problem faced by most school is insecure wireless network. Even though they already installed advanced hardware, network security is still be the basic problem. No security mechanism such as encryption and authentication is the most common problem that may cause their network very vulnerable with any possible threat. After doing the research, Radius Server (both for authentication server and monitoring system) can help solve the problem.

Abstract

National sustainable development needs to take into account the utilization of environmental natural resources for future generations. For the community, environment is a space or a place to stay for that need to be more preserved than utilized. Collaboration between knowledge of environment and preservation with ICT knowledge can be developed into a management system which is environmental knowledge management systems. Approach on the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT, which include variable timing, capacity, relevance, accessibility, flexibility, accuracy and reliability, can be used to explore the success determinants of communitybased environmental conservation as a central participant. Analysis method of this study uses the Core Processof KM consisting knowledge identification, knowledge aqcuition, knowledge development, knowledge sharing and distribution, knowledge utilization, and knowledge retention. Menawhile, the design method uses objectorientedbased approach (OOAD) that contains the UML diagrams, followed by evaluation and verification of test results of the e-learning application prototype which will be measured by IT Balanced Scorecard through four perspectives, namely: (1) government contribution; (2) society orientation, (3) excellent operation, (4)future orientation. With the formulation of the critical success factors is then developed a virtual learning model, in order to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental preservation. The result is a prototype model of environmental KMS application or e-learning which will be piloted in a few areas, especially in Jabodetabek.
