Abstract

The internet of things (IoT), also called internet of all, is a new paradigm that combines several technologies such as computers, the internet, sensors network, radio frequency identification (RFID), communication technology and embedded systems to form a system that links the real worlds with digital worlds. With an increase in the deployment of smart objects, the internet of things should have a significant impact on human life in the near future. To understand the development of the IoT, this paper reviews the current research of the IoT, key technologies, the main applications of the IoT in various fields, and identifies research challenges. A main contribution of this review article is that it summarizes the current state of the IoT technology in several areas, and also the applications of IoT that cause side effects on our environment for monitoring and evaluation of the impact of human activity on the environment around us, and also provided an overview of some of the main challenges and application of IoT. This article presents not only the problems and challenges of IoT, but also solutions that help overcome some of the problems and challenges.

Abstract

The article describes multidisciplinary design process of high-performance electric generator for advanced aircrafts by analytical methods and computer modeling techniques (electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical calculations). New technical solutions used in its development are described. The main ideas are revealed of the method of EG voltage stabilization we used. To improve the heat dissipation efficiency, we have developed a new cooling system, and provide its study and description in this paper. The advantages of this cooling system include the fact that EG is made with dry, uncooled rotor. This allowed eliminating additional pumps, and significantly reducing the size of CSD. According to the results of our study, we created an experimental full capacity layout, and its studies are also provided in this paper.

Abstract

Ambulance location is one of the critical factors that determine the efficiency of emergency medical services delivery. Maximal Covering Location Problem is one of the widely used ambulance location models. However, its coverage function is considered unrealistic because of its ability to abruptly change from fully covered to uncovered. On the contrary, Gradual Cover Location Problem coverage is considered more realistic compared to Maximal Cover Location Problem because the coverage decreases over distance. This paper examines the delivery of Emergency Medical Services under the models of Maximal Covering Location Problem and Gradual Cover Location Problem. The results show that the latter model is superior, especially when the Maximal Covering Location Problem has been deemed fully covered.

Abstract

Wireless sensor nodes consist of a collection of sensor nodes with constrained resources in terms of processing power and battery energy. Wireless sensors networks are used increasingly in many industrial and consumer applications. Sensors detect events and send via multi hop routing to the sink node for processing the event. The routing path is established through proactive or reactive routing protocols. To improve the performance of the Wireless Sensor Networks, multi stack architecture is addressed. But the multi stack architecture has many problems with respect to life time, routing loop and QOS. In this work we propose a solution to address all these three problems of life time, routing loop and QOS in case of multi stack architecture.

Abstract

The field of biometrics has evolved tremendously for over the last century. Yet scientists are still continuing to come up with precise and efficient algorithms to facilitate automatic fingerprint recognition systems. Like other applications, an efficient feature extraction method plays an important role in fingerprint based recognition systems. This paper proposes a novel feature extraction method using minutiae points of a fingerprint image and their intersections. In this method, initially, it calculates the ridge ends and ridge bifurcations of each fingerprint image. And then, it estimates the minutiae points for the intersection of each ridge end and ridge bifurcation. In the experimental evaluation, we tested the extracted features of our proposed model using a support vector machine (SVM) classifier and experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately classify different fingerprint images.

Abstract

Earlier economic emission dispatch methods for optimizing emission level comprising carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide and sulpher dioxide in thermal generation, made use of soft computing techniques like fuzzy,neural network,evolutionary programming,differential evolution and particle swarm optimization etc..The above methods incurred comparatively more transmission loss.So looking into the nonlinear load behavior of unbalanced systems following differential load pattern prevalent in tropical countries like India,Pakistan and Bangladesh etc.,the erratic variation of enhanced power demand is of immense importance which is included in this paper vide multi objective directed bee colony optimization with enhanced power demand to optimize transmission losses to a desired level.In the current dissertation making use of multi objective directed bee colony optimization with enhanced power demand technique the emission level versus cost of generation has been displayed vide figure-3 & figure-4 and this result has been compared with other dispatch methods using valve point loading(VPL) and multi objective directed bee colony optimization with & without transmission loss.

Abstract

Technological development  have altered the way we communicate, learn, think, share, and spread information. Mobile technologies are those that make use of wireless technologies to gain some sort of data. As mobile connectedness continues to spread across the world, the value of employing mobile technologies in the arena of learning and teaching seems to be both self-evident and unavoidable The fast deployment of mobile devices and wireless networks in university campuses makes higher education a good environment  to integrate learners-centered m-learning . this paper discusses mobile learning technologies that are being used for educational purposes and the effect they have on teaching and learning methods.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the relations correspondence by using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) feature on parents and children finger print. The analysis is conducted by using the finger print of parents and family in one family There are 30 families used as sample with 3 finger print consists of mothers, fathers, and children finger print. Fingerprints data were taken by fingerprint digital persona u are u 4500 SDK. Data analysis is conducted by finding the correlation value between parents and children fingerprint by using correlation coefficient that gained from extract feature GLCM, both for similar family and different family. The study shows that the use of GLCM Extract Feature, normality data, and Correlation Coefficient could identify the correspondence relations between parents and children fingerprint on similar and different family. GLCM with four features (correlation, homogeneity, energy and contrast) are used to give good result. The four sides (0o, 45o, 90o and 135o) are used. It shows that side 0o gives the higher accurate identification compared to other sides.

Abstract

The travelers face troubles in understanding the signboards which are written in local language. The travelers can rely on smart phone for traveling purposes. Smart phones become most popular in recent years in terms of market value and the number of useful applications to the users. This work intends to build up a web application that can recognize the English content present on signboard pictures captured using a smart phone, translate the content from English to Telugu, and display the translated Telugu text back onto the screen of the phone. Experiments have been conducted on various signboard pictures and the outcomes demonstrate the viability of the proposed approach.

Abstract

The article presents a miniature antenna with a simple geometry and a simple approach for reconfiguration. In order to make the T-shaped antenna frequency reconfigurable, we integrated Switches in specific positions. The location of the switches is determined following a study of the distribution of the surface currents of the suggested antenna. Indeed, we found that the insertion of switches in places where the concentrations of surface currents are high is irrelevant. In fact, to redirect current flow, the PIN diodes or RF Switch must be placed in positions where the distribution of the surface currents is of low concentration. These locations facilitate the establishment of new trajectories of the flux of current. As a result, a miniature tunable antenna dimension 20mm*20mm*1.6mm printed on FR4 substrate with 4.4 permittivity and with  0.04 loss tangent,   the antenna  can be adopted in many communication devices in view of its small size, its low manufacturing cost and performance on frequency sweep, the antenna operates in S-Band with an acceptable band and gain. The antenna is simulated and optimized using CST Microwave Studio.
