Abstract

In this paper, the synchronization problem of T chaotic system and Lu chaotic system is studied. The parameter of the drive T chaotic system is considered unknown. An adaptive projective lag control method and also parameter estimation law are designed to achieve chaos synchronization problem between two chaotic systems. Then Lyapunov stability theorem is utilized to prove the validity of the proposed control method. After that, some numerical simulations are performed to assess the performance of the proposed method. The results show high accuracy of the proposed method in control and synchronization of chaotic systems.

Abstract

Unauthorized redistribution and illegal copying of digital contents are serious issues which have affected numerous types of digital contents such as digital video. One of the methods, which have been suggested to support copyright protection, is to hide digital watermark within the digital video. This paper introduces a new video watermarking system which based on a combination of Arnold transform and integer wavelet transforms (IWT). IWT is employed to decompose the cover video frames whereby Arnold transform is used to scramble the watermark which is a grey scale image. Scrambling the watermark before the concealment makes the transmission more secure by disordering the information. The system performance was benchmarked against related video watermarking schemes, in which the evaluation processes consist of testing against several video operations and attacks. Consequently, the scheme has been demonstrated to be perfectly robust.

Abstract

In this paper, an artificial neural network (ANN) is designed to optimize thematrix gain of state feedback controller. A linear mathematical model of asynchronous generator with excitation system is used as controlled system. The conventional methods that used to find the matrix gain need tediouscalculations with compared to neural networks. The simulation proves thatthe proposed feedback controller based neural network optimization method has the better result in order to prove the dynamic performance of a single machine connected to infinite bus system(SMIB). The robustness of the proposed controller is tested by disturbance in excitation voltage. The results are compared with results of controller based on conventional methods. Thepotentials of the proposed technique are investigated using MATLAB software.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i4.3125

Abstract

Using an electrical approach in the field of agriculture can be considered as one of the solutions in order to control harmful flying insects. This technique is based on the use of a bio and selective electrical insecticide whose principle consists in attracting insects by the light then get them electrocuted by an electrical discharge. Moreover, There are several parameters that affect the selectivity of electrical insecticide such as: the light, the most efficient, the inter electrode distance, where the insect is exterminated, and the electric current that passes through the insect’s body. In this paper, a simulation study was carried out concerning the distribution of the electric field between two electrodes in presence of particle conductor while focusing on the different body sizes. On the other hand, an experimental study was conducted on live locusts to determine the effect of electrical current on insect’s body taking into account the voltage and frequency. Finally, the results are discussed and analyzed in this paper.

Abstract

Signature verification is very widely used in verification of the identity of any person. Now a days other biometric verification system has been evolved very widely like figure print, iris etc., but signature verification through computer system is still in development phase. The verification system is either through offline mode or online mode in online systems the dynamic information of a signature captured at the time the signature is made while in offline systems based on the scanned image of a signature. In this paper, a method is presented for Offline signatures Verification, for this verification system signature image is first pre-processed and converted into binary image of same size with 200x200 Pixels and then different features are extracted from the image like Eccentricity, Kurtosis, Skewness etc. and that features are used to train the neural network using back-propagation technique. For this verification system 6 different user signatures are taken to make database of the feature and results are analysed. The result demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed methodology when compared with other existing studies. The proposed algorithm gives False Acceptance Rate (FAR) as 5.05% and False Rejection rate (FRR) as 4.25%.

Abstract

In order to reduce costs while maintaining superior performance, this paper presents a new control methodology of a three-phase grid connected photovoltaic system without using the intermediary DC/DC converter. Based on the synchronized nonlinear model of the whole photovoltaic system, two controllers have been proposed for the three-phase inverter in order to ensure the operation of the PV system at the maximum power point with unity power factor and minimum grid disturbance. Grid synchronization has been ensured by a three-phase 2nd order PLL (Phase-Locked Loop). The stability of each controller is demonstrated by means of Lyapunov analysis and evaluated under changing atmospheric conditions using the Matlab/Simulink environment, the simulation results clearly demonstrate the performance provided by each controller.

Abstract

Dynamic topology change and decentralized makes routing a challenging task in mobile ad hoc network. Energy efficient routing is the most challenging task in MANET due to limited energy of mobile nodes. Limited power of batteries typically use in MANET, and this is not easy to change or replace while running communication. Network disorder can occur for many factors but in middle of these factors deficiency of energy is the most significant one for causing broken links and early partition of the network. Evenly distribution of power between nodes could enhance the lifetime of the network, which leads to improving overall network transmission and minimizes the connection request. To discourse this issue, we propose an Energy Aware Routing Protocol (EARP) which considers node energy in route searching process and chooses nodes with higher energy levels. The EARP aim is to establish the shortest route from source to destination that contains energy efficient nodes. The performance of EARP is evaluated in terms of packet delivery ratio, network lifetime, end-to-end delay and throughput. Results of simulation done by using NS2 network simulator shows that EARP can achieve both high throughput and delivery ratio, whereas increase network lifetime and decreases end-to-end delay.

Abstract

With the current explosion of Information Systems, the market offers a wide range of interesting technological solutions. Yet, this does not mean adopting a technology without considering its impact on the existing information system and user expectations. It is recommended to identify and implement the technological solutions most suited to the Information Systems strategy. Therefore, new methods are emerging and design tools are still evolving; the PHP Frameworks are part of it, which open up new perspectives in terms of information system enrichment. In this context, this paper focuses on the elaboration of a comparative study between Laravel, symfony framworks, which are the most popular PHP frameworks.  Thus, it provides an effective comparison model that merges seven dimensions: Features, Multilingual, System requirements, Technical architecture, Code Organization, Continuous Integration (CI) and finally Documentation and learning curve dimension. Results show that our model can be beneficial for IT project developers to select the suitable PHP Framework.

Abstract

Steady state analysis is fundamental to any electric and electronic circuit design. Buck converter is one of most popular power electronics circuit and has been analyzed in various situations. Although the behavior of buck converters can be understood approximately by the well-known state space averaging method, little is known in the sense of detailed behavior or exact solution to equations. In this paper a steady state analysis of buck converter is proposed which allows the exact calculation of steady state response. Our exact solution is expressed as a Fourier series. Our result is compared with numerical calculation to be verified. Our method copes with more complicated problems such as describing average power and root-mean-square power that are most critical issues in power electronics circuit.

Abstract

PID Optimization by Genetic Algorithm or any intelligent optimization method is widely being used recently. The main issue is to select a suitable objective function based on error criteria. Original error criteria that is widely being used such as ITAE, ISE, ITSE and IAE is insufficient in enhancing some of the performance parameter. Parameter such as settling time, rise time, percentage of overshoot, and steady state error is included in the objective function. Weightage is added into these parameters based on users’ performance requirement. Based on the results, modified error criteria show improvement in all performance parameter after being modified. All of the error criteria produce 0% overshoot, 29.51%-39.44% shorter rise time, 21.11%-42.98% better settling time, 10% to 53.76% reduction in steady state error. The performance of modified objective function in minimizing the error signal is reduced. It can be concluded that modification of objective function by adding performance parameter into consideration could improve the performance of rise time, settling time, overshoot percentage, and steady state error
