Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the development of independence and student interest after using online physics teaching materials on the subject of heat in SMP N 2 Semarang. The research is the development of test design using One-Group Pretest-Posttesst Design, which is part of the Quasi-Experimental Design. Sampling with purposive sampling technique that is class VII B. Methods of data collection in this research is a method of documentation, testing, and questionnaires. Before research implemented online physics teaching materials validated by expert lecturers. Online physics teaching materials tested on 10 respondents then applied to the classroom. The results of t-test and gain analysis indicate that there was development on the independence and student interest but not signifkan and stil low. Based on this results concluded that the online physics teaching materials can develop independence and student interest in the subject of heat. However, the results is not significant and low.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to create and develope a instructional media with two dimentional animationbased on Java Scratch theory of kinetic gases topic and to know description of skill and instructional media’seffectiviy in increasing concept’s understanding of senior high school students to theory of kinetic gases topic.This study is research and development based on 4D models consisted of four steps, they are definition, design,develope, and disseminate. Methods of data collected use questionnaire and documentation. Results of researchand testing by the validator most likely to material substance aspects, aspects of instructional design, softwareengineering aspect, and aspects of visual communication design is good. To program testing by students is goodenough and result program testing by teacher is good. The result of students responses’ analysis to learningimplementation with program is accepted well by students and students curiosity’s grade shown by averagescore of respondents that agree about application of this program.

Abstract

The aim of this research to know is there any difference in instantaneous learning outcomes of physics between the boys class, girls class, and mixed class and know which is the best class. Type of research is True Experimental research with random to subject design. Subjects were 18 students in boys class, 18 students in girls class, and 18 students in mixed class which formed of class XI IPA SMA N 1 Kradenan Grobogan. The learning method used is practical and discussion. Data was taken using the test, observation , documentation, and questionnaires method then this data was analysed using percent descriptive, variants analysis test, and t-test. The research results show there are differences in instantaneous learning outcomes of physics between the boys class, girls class, and mixed class. The best learning outcomes are gotten mixed class with result 70,10, followed by boys class with result 67,78, and the lowest of girls class with result 66,74.

Abstract

Zinc Oxide doped Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3:Zn) thin films have been successfully deposited at corning glass and silicon (1 1 1) substrat with a plasma power 20.16 W with substrat temperature 600°C dan 635°C using dc magnetron sputtering method. The crystal structure of films were characterized using XRD (X-ray diffraction). Morphology films ware characterized using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopic). Optical transmittance characterized by UV-vis spectrometer. Ga2O3:Zn thin films on a substrat temperature of 600°C dan 635°C have a polycrystalline structure. Have obtained Ga2O3 peak (0 1 2) and (2 1 10) and peak silicon (1 1 1) and (4 4 4). The orientation (0 1 2) has the highest intensity and the value of full width half maximum (FWHM) at the smallest substrat temperature 600°C. Transmittance value the smaller the increase in substrate temperature with the largest value of 70% is owned by the substrate temperature of 600 ° C and 60% for a temperature of 635 ° C, with the magnitude of the resulting energy gap is relatively the same, namely 4.60 eV and 4.65 eV.

Abstract

In the midst of rapid global growth, increasingly complex and sophisticated, the principles of education to develop ethics, values and character of the students still must be held. Empowering learning science with a focus on the development of a scientific  attitude (responsibility, honesty, cooperation, self-confidence, curiosity, and creative) is an alternative way of integrated elements of character and increase student achievement. This aims of research to implement an integrated character education in learning science with Holistic learning model to cultivate scientific attitude and improve student achievement. Subjects were elementary school third grade students Patemon 01 Elementary School year 2012/2013. This research used classroom action research design that consist of three cycles. Data collected by using documentation, observation sheets, and test method. The results of data analysis showed an increase in scientific attitudes and student achievement. This proved that the integration of character education in learning science can be used as a scientific attitude acquisition, the noble value, and increasing student achievement.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the development of student creativities after   the   NHT learning model applied using SETS approach. The method used in this research was class action research. This research was done in SMP Negeri 3 Pemalang. The subjects of this research are 38 students of class VIII E in the academic year 2011/2012. Data obtained through the questionnaire students creativity. Students cognitive learning outcomes data obtained through evaluation tests in the form of multiple choice questions and a description. Psychomotor learning results obtained through observation sheet. The development of creativity and learning achievement  done by gain test analysis. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of  learning NHT with SETS approach model can develop creativity and learning achievement.

Abstract

Guided-inquiry laboratory activity is one of learning strategies that can train students to have problem solving,communication, and cooperation skills. Guided inquiry laboratory activity teachers share responsibility for thestudent to investigate a problem in class. Teachers act as facilitators and providers problem.The purpose of thisresearch is to improve and to know the increase of problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills ofhigh school students with the application of learning through guided-inquiry laboratory activities. The researchdesign is Pretest-Posttest Control Group. The research results show that there is an increase in problem-solving,communication, and collaboration skills after applying learning through guided-inquiry laboratory activity.The obtained gain test results show there is an increase of problem solving, communication, and cooperationskills of control class, respectively for 0.3, 0,201; 0.31. While the experimental class is respectively at 0.65,0.304; 0.48. Test of significance shows that problem solving, communication, and cooperation skills ofexperiment class are better than the control class. Based on the analysis, it was found that the application oflearning through guided-inquiry laboratory activities can improve the problem solving, communication, andcollaboration skills.

Abstract

The ambiguity and complexity of the material presented teacher to the student is one of the causes of less than optimal student learning outcomes. Media simulations are meant to attract the attention of students and facilitate understanding of the concept of light reflection. The purpose of this research is to increase understanding of the concept of student learning and engagement. The research method used a control group pretest posttes design. The data are collected  by using documentation, observation, and tests metods. Analysis of the test data using the formula to determine the gain of improving student learning outcomes and t-test to test the hypothesis. Based on the test results obtained cognitive learning gains in classroom experiments <g> faktor of 0.62 and a control class <g> of 0,55. Large <g>  factor at 0.80 for the presence of affective aspects, attention 0.52, 0.13 responsibility, expression 0.45, 0.48 and group cooperation. the result t-test the left side with two samples obtained t_hitung of 0.362, while t_tabel at 5% significance level with 62 df is 1.670 so thitung>-ttabel which shows that the learning outcomes using teaching materials with simulated media is better or equal to the results learn to use the textbooks. It can be concluded that using instructional materials with simulated media can increase learning outcomes and student engagement.

Abstract

Bilingual use phenomenon in science-physics learning activities is still faced many challenges. This raises several issues that cause learning objectives cannot be achieved. Although science-physics bilingual lesson is not an interest-based optimal subject, based on preliminary study that has been done in SMP 21 Semarang, students have not been able to actively participate or engage optimally both mentally and actions undertaken in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to identify how the students' interest towards science-physics bilingual lesson and the factors that influence it. The result showed that students' interest in learning science-physics included in the medium category. Factors affecting the interest are classified into two: (1) internal factors, namely the will, needs and motivations, and (2) external factors:  family support, teaching methods, relationships with teachers and other students, and the mass media

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the quality of textbooks covering the subject feasibility factors, linguistic factors, presentation factors, and graphic factors on textbooks for eleventh grade of senior high school in Salatiga. The population of this study is the physics textbooks. The samples are Book A and Book B. Book A written by Marthen Kanginan and published by Erlangga. Book B written by Supiyanto and published by Phibeta. This study used descriptive qualitative to analyze the data. The results of the analyze of subject feasibility factors, linguistic factors, presentation factors, and graphic factors of Book A 96,53 %, 100%, 76,39%, 91,67%, then Book B get the scores 62,78%, 75,76%, 89,77%, 95,83%. Based on the result of analysis above, it could be concluded that Book A belonging to the criteria of “very good”, and Book B belonging to the criteria of “good”.
