Abstract

Learning science is learning that requires teachers to implement various learning models in which are creative, innovative, interesting, fun, effective, and varied so that competence and expectations are able to be accomplished. This research aimed to discover implementation of science learning models in KTSP based and 2013 Curriculum based Junior High Schools. This research used observation method by using video as the tool and questionnaire. The results of this research discovered that students activities in paying attention to teachers in percentage at Junior High School coded A, Junior High School coded B, and Junior High School coded C were at 59,16% 46,06%, 85,80%. In 2013 Curriculum based Junior High School, at Junior High School coded X, Junior High School coded Y, Junior High School coded Z, students activities were representing experiments results, doing experiments, and doing exercises in which are at 24,50%, 32,78%, and 55,23%. Moreover, the results of questionnaire analysis in Junior High Schools based KTSP were at 76%, 76%, and 72%. Furthermore, in Junior High Schools based Curriculum 2013, were at 88,02%, 84,38%, and 86%.

Abstract

The research aims was to understand the influence of approach JAS with understanding the concept of students. This research used experimental with the form of the control grup posttest design. The research sample used was classes XI TKR 1 and XI TKR 2 SMK N 10 Semarang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. This research obtained results of average cognitive value of experiment class 76,89 and control class 74,60 and affective assessment experiment class is including on very good criteria and control class including on good criteria. The analysis result of concept understanding profile of experiment class that showed highest percentage is classifying and generalize. Percentage that gained is 93,33%. Based on that result it can be concluded that a class using JAS method have a higher average value affective value on the very good criteria.

Abstract

The aims of the research are describing physic story book characteristics, testing suitability, effectiveness, and readability of physics story book. The research using research and development (R&D) with media expert, material expert, and students as research respondents. The characteristics of story book is developed as follows: (a) story book is arranged by two substances (Intrinsic and Extrinsic), (b) how the story book present are very close with reader’s life and not act like a teacher, (c) the story book is arranged with interesting and simple illustration, (d) the story book is assembled with anatomical book which are proper for junior high school students. The result of analytical suitability test of story book by media expert are obtained 78% with suitable criteria, analytical suitability test of physic story book by material expert are obtained 95% with very suitable category. All of the suitability result of the physic story book are obtained 84% with suitable category. The counting result of the effectiveness from the story book are 86% with high criteria. The physics story book which has been arranged obtaining readability 62% meant the physics story book have readability that easy to comprehend. Based on the result of the research, this story book are suitable to be used as media supplement for physics learning.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to produce a worksheet with POE characteristics, how its properness, and how students’ reasoning and understanding improvement after its application. Research and Development (R&D) method with Pre-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design is used in this study. The procedures are: potential and problem, information collecting, product design, product validation, revision, small scale trial, revision, application. The properness test uses properness questionnaire. The data of students’ reasoning and conceptual understanding is taken from pretest and posttest. The properness test results indicate that Electrodynamics worksheet based on POE strategy is very proper as a teaching-material. Students’ reasoning and concept understanding improvement are in medium criteria after its application.
