Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of self-management technique group counseling to improve the learning independence of the junior high school students. The research method is an experiment using the design of one group pre-test and post-test by involving 7 students who have low learning independence as a group members. The results of this research indicate the students' learning independence before being given counseling group self-management techniques, average learning independence of 107.71 (SD = 8.51), then an increase after group counseling was 136.86 (SD 9.02). Paired sample t-test results showed that the self-management technique group counseling was effective to improve the independence of junior high school students (t(6) = 13.743, p < 0.01). This research confirms that group counseling with self-management techniques can be applied to improve student learning independence.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of career information to improve the entrepreneurial attitudes of the students of Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Bulakamba (SMK Muhammadiyah Bulakamba). The experimental research method by using Post-test – Only Control Design was employed and involved as many as 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class as the research subjects. For more, the calculation results of t-test showed that the entrepreneurial attitude of the group which received career aspiration-based career information was higher than the group which got no career information on the students of SMK Muhammadiyah Bulakamba (tvalue= 3.847, p < 0.01). In conclusion, this study asserts the role of Guidance and Counselling in developing school entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services with problem solving technique to improve the self-efficacy and task value of the students of Demak Al Ma'ruf Integrated Islamic Junior High School (SMP Islam Terpadu Al Ma’ruf Demak). In order to pursue such objective, the research used pre-test post-test control group research design. Meanwhile, to collect the data, the researchers used self-efficacy and task value scales. Those scales were given to the subjects in this research amounted to 20 students divided into experimental group totaling 10 students and control group of 10 students. Further, MANOVA results showed that there were some effects of group guidance with problem solving technique on the improvement of self-efficacy (F(1.18) = 334.176, p > 0.01) and task value (F(1.18) = 309.121, p > 0.01). Therefore, this research proves that the implementation of group guidance with problem solving technique is effective to improve the self-efficacy and task value of the students of SMP Islam Terpadu Al Ma’ruf Demak.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship of parental involvement to career decision making self-efficacy with openness as a mediating variable. The sample involved 400 students selected using Cluster Random Sampling technique. Methods of data collection using an adapted psychological scale. Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and mediation analysis with corrected method bias bootstrap technique with 95% confidential intervals. The results showed that parental involvement predicts career decision making self-efficacy and openness, then openness mediates the relationship of parent involvement and career decision making self-efficacy. This research provides counselors with an understanding of the relationship of parental involvement and the influence of personal aspects (self-efficacy and openness) in career selection.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effect of psychoeducational group with modelling technique on career decision self-efficacy to improve the career adaptability of the students of State Junior High School 31 (SMP Negeri 31) in Purworejo City. The method used to cover such objective was experimental method with the research design of prettest-posttest control group design. Moreover, there were as many as n2 18 students chosen by using purposive sampling technique among 94 students. Further, based on the data analysis by using bias corrected bootstrapping SPSS 25 with resampling resulted (N = 5.000), while the estimation of the true direct effect was in the level of 95% of confidence interval. This showed that the psychoeducational group with modelling technique contributed direct impact on career adaptability (β = 5.61; p < 0.01) as well as indirect impact on career adaptability through self-efficacy (β = 7.60, p < 0.05; CI 95% =1.90, 13.86). Through modelling technique, students obtained a picture on the belief of their career direction, abilities, knowledge of their self-potential. They also can plan their future studies which are supported by learning readiness either when they are at school or at home. Based on this research, can prove that strengthening the self-efficacy of career decision would grow up a sense of career expectations conformity which has been possessed and further form the condition of career adaptability so that in the end, one can adapt with their live-span development.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze the impact of Loneliness with the mediator of Self Perception to Problematic Smartphone Use of students. The population in this research were all State High Schools in Semarang with a sample of 320 students selected by using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection using R-UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3, Smartphone Addiction Scale Short Version and Adolescents Self-perception Short Scale. Data analysis using bootstrapping bias-corrected. The results of the statistical data showed that loneliness is positively predicted by the PSU with self-perception. Therefore, the higher the level of loneliness through low self-perception of students, the higher the PSU. This research provided counselors with an understanding of the excessive use of smartphones in students considering that there are currently many students who experience personal and social problems in their daily lives due to smartphone use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test and analyze the behavioral group counseling behavior of the self-instruction techniques to increase the self-cost of students of social media users. This study used the experimental method of pre-test and multiple post-test group design were involved 7 students of class VIII at SMPN 13 Semarang. The Data collection uses statistical self-esteem inventory (SEI). The data analysis in this study used repeated ANOVA measurements. The results of this study are to encourage the levels of student performance before and after being given a self-instruction technique counseling group. The results of the research conducted were cognitive behavioral group counseling, effective self-instruction techniques to improve the self-efficacy of students of social media users.
Group Counseling of Cognitive Behavior with Self Instruction Technique On Self Efficacy and Academic Burnout

Abstract

This study aims to prove that group counseling with self instruction technique is effective to enhance self efficacy and reduce academic burnout. The design employed was pre-test – post-test control group. The subject of the study was selected by using purposive sampling technique as many as 16 students. To place the subject in the experimental group and control group, random assignment was conducted so that there were 8 students in each group. The result of MANOVA test proved that group counseling with self instruction effectively enhanced self efficacy (F3.12 = 185.787; ηp2 = 0.979; p < 0.01) and reduced academic burnout (F3.12 = 308.938; ηp2 = 0.987; p < 0.01). In addition, the Paired Sample t-test showed a result that there was enhancement of self efficacy (t = -19.943; p < 0.01) and significant decrease in academic burnout (t = 23.213; p < 0.01) in the experimental group. Meanwhile, the enhancement of self efficacy (t = -0.424; p > 0.05) and the decrease in academic burnout (t = 0.552; p > 0.05) in the control group did not significantly occur. Islamic Group Guidance to Improve The Religiosity and Readiness to Face Death

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to analyze the religiosity and readiness to face death before and after receiving Islamic group guidance, and analyze the effectiveness of Islamic group guidance to improve the religiosity and readiness to face death of the members of PWRI Jakarta. This study used experimental method with the design of one group pre-test – post-test by involving as many as 8 people as research subjects. For more, the results of Wilcoxon analysis showed that the level of religiosity of PWRI members got improvement in the post-test when compared to the results of their pre-test (z =-2.52; p < 0.01). Besides, the readiness to face death of PWRI members also increased in the post-test when compared to the results of their pre-test, (z = -2.52; p < 0.01). In conclusion, the results of this study assert that Islamic group guidance contributes the improvement of religiosity and readiness to face death.
