Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is one of the most intriguing and, potentially, the most versatile classes of Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices. The UPFC is a device which can control simultaneously tree parameters line impedance, voltage, phase angle and dynamic compensation of AC power system. In order to analyse its true effects on power systems, it is important to model its constraints, due to various ratings and operating limits. This paper reviews on the different models of UPFC used in recent years and gives sets of information for each model of the UPFC in AC transmission. Space vector modulation technique is one of the best PWM technique which has been implemented to the Multilevel inverter circuit to get the purely sinusoidal cuurent .This is a important algorithm which is implemented in open wind induction motor.This type of I.M has great impact on Electric Drive system. SVM is nothing but the technique of switching algorithm .The Hexagonal space vector modulation has been implemented before , but elimination of higher order harmonics are not possible. Torque pulsation arises. Speed control of Induction motor was not smooth .so Dodecagonal (12) structure developed. A 12 side polygonal space vector structure is meant for eliminating (6n±1) harmonics in the phase current waveform throughout the modulating range. A high resolution of PWM technique is proposed involving multiple 12 sided polygonal (Dodecagonal) structure that can generate highly sinusoidal voltage at a reduced switching frequency. In this paper different values of frequencies have been taken for harmonic analysis. This paper presents a technique for speed sensorless Rotor Flux Oriented Control (RFOC) of 3-phase Induction Motor (IM) under open-phase fault (unbalanced or faulty IM). The presented RFOC strategy is based on rotational transformation. An adaptive sliding mode control system with an adaptive switching gain is proposed instead of the speed PI controller. Using an adaptive sliding mode control causes the proposed speed sensorless RFOC drive system to become insensitive to uncertainties such as load disturbances and parameter variations. Moreover, with adaptation of the sliding switching gain, calculation of the system uncertainties upper bound is not needed. In this paper an experiment has been conducted to determine the online stator winding resistance of an induction motor, in industries as well as domestic purpose induction motors is largely utilized, as it has both applications of variable and constant torque operation nature. The major requirement of an electric drive system is its independent control of torque and speed; this is achieved in DC motor Drive but has more disadvantages. With the help of fast acting switching devices it is possible to independently control an induction motor. To control an induction motor drive various methods are available, direct torque control of induction motor is one of the best method of control compared to other, the only disadvantage is the torque ripple. Stator resistance is one of the parameter for the cause; hence its determination is essential. An experiment is conducted at various loads on an induction motor and then the temperature in the stator winding is noted at different instants using microcontroller, from the tabulated readings stator winding resistance is calculated and compared with the direct measurement by Volt-Ampere method. Further it is suggested that by implementing the actual online value of stator resistance of an induction motor dive torque ripple can be minimized. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijpeds.v4i3.5649

This paper presents the analysis and implementation of a two-phase Multi Device Interleaved Boost Converter (MDIBC). Among the various DC-DC topologies, Multi device Interleaved converter is considered as a better solution for fuel cell hybrid vehicles as it reduces the input current ripple, output voltage ripple and the size of passive components. Detailed analysis has been done to investigate the benefits of Multi device Interleaved boost converter by comparing it with the conventional Interleaved boost converter topology. Moreover, in this paper, power loss analysis (switching loss, conduction loss, inductor loss) of the proposed converter has been performed. Simulation study of Multi device interleaved converter has been studied using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Hardware prototype is built to validate the results.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijpeds.v4i3.5883
