Segmental structure is common especially for a rotor in electrical motor. It is to reduce the cost of production, conveniently replace, and as a module where the sum of electromagnetic torque produced comes from each segmental stator add up together. Thus, in this paper will be focusing on the elementary analysis of a segmental stator for single phase 6Slot-12Pole and 3 phase 6Slot-15Pole Switched-Flux Permanent Magnet Machine (SFPMM) as the chosen design for analysis validation from coventional permanent magnet flux switching machine to a new segmental stator structure of SFPMM. It will be focusing on the initial design and to prove that it can be operate as a flux switching machine by implement a 2D Finite Element Analysis simulations such as a No-load analysis (flux linkage, cogging torque, back emf) and Load-analysis (average electromagnetic torque. Elementary result shows that the electromagnetic torque produce for both design are 10.6 Nm and 99.95 Nm and proved that it can produce high torque although it does not surpass the conventional SFPMM. A further research and optimization will be needed to obtain a higher torque compared to conventional SFPMM.

In this paper a grid interconnected system with wind energy source linked with a FACTs based SSFC device ( Static switched filter compensator ) at load for enhancing power quality is considered .Analysis is done for the proposed system by varying Carrier frequency over a wide range and observed system performance at all 3 busses wise Grid bus, Generator Bus and Load Bus. Two regulators are used to organize the FACTS SSFC-device, these are based on a tri-loop dynamic error obsessed inter-coupled input to VSC controller. Investigation is made in MATLAB/SIMULINK Environment for the proposed system ,it is observed that system performance in terms of percentage Total harmonic Distortion is satisfactory along with the Enhanced Power Quality.

Hysteresis controllers (HC) are used to limit the torque and flux in the control band in conventional configuration of direct torque control (DTC) while in the space vector pulse width modulated (SVPWM) DTC, the HC are switched to PI or PID controllers. This paper presents a modern approach for the speed control applied on a DTC of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using the Cuckoo Search Optimization (CSO) algorithm in order to optimize the PI speed controller parameters of the outer loop and PID flux and torque controllers of the inner loop. The system is tested at no load and with a step change in load. The performance of the controllers is presented and the results of simulation indicate a very rapid dynamic response and the system achieves the steady state (SS.) in a very short time. Also it shows that both the SS. and dynamic performances are improved by applying of the CSO algorithm. The proposed DTC simulation model of the PMSM is presented using MATLAB / SIMULINK and capable of simulating both the steady-state and dynamic response. The CSO results are compared with another control strategy that incorporates fuzzy logic controller (FLC) with DTC.
