It is publishes by Department of Drama, Dance, and Music Education (Sendratasik), Semarang State University (UNNES) two time a year, June and December, in cooperation with Asosiasi Profesi Pendidik Sendratasik Indonesia (AP2SENI)/The Association of Profession for Indonesian Sendratasik Educators Research, comprises scholarly reports that enhance knowledge regarding art in general, performing art, and art education. This may include articles that report results of quantitative or qualitative research studies. Conceptual Idea, publishes articles conceptually relevant to advancing the practice of music and learning, present theories of music, models, or philosophical position, etc. Articles may draw upon theory/or material developed in educational practice that recognize and address a wide range of pedagogical approach that would interest members from a variety of countries and teaching setting, including activities and art materials to help internationalize art curricula.

Abstract

Learning methods are ways of presenting subject matter conducted by educators so that the learning process occurs in students in an effort to achieve goals. The problem in this research is how is the method of learning students’ choir Gita Buana Soedirman Purwokerto. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. Data collection is conducted by using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data validity technique used is triangulation. Data analysis was conducted in data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification. The results of this study are that in the learning process of the Gita Buana Soedirman Choir’s students apply several learning methods, that are the lecture method, peer tutor method, demonstration method, drill method, and imitation method which are applied continuously and as it should be.

Abstract

Music for the Aura Theater is not only a supporter of the presentation of the show, but also as a medium for conveying the core story in a performance that is packaged in the form of songs and becomes part of the storyline. This makes researchers interested in the process of creating songs in their musical dramas. This study aims to identify and describe the process of creating compositions for musical drama songs in Kulino scripts at the Aura Indonesia Theater performance. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that produces descriptive data. The research location is in the center of theatrical activities of Theater Aura Indonesia with data sources from the chairman as well as the director of Kulino performances and composers. Data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used in this study is an interactive model whose elements include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that in the process of creating the composition of the Kulino musical drama song through stages (1) script review, namely the activities of appreciating, reviewing, discussing, or reviewing all the elements contained in the script to be worked on (2) observation, namely the stages carried out by the composer. to get musical inspiration which is then illustrated in the form of rough notes (3) pouring, namely pouring rough notes from observations into the form of musical compositions (4) embodiment, namely redeveloping the finished song by adding other musical instruments, namely keyboard, guitar melody, violin, cello, drum, bass, flute, and saxophone (5) presentation, in which the composer presents the finished song to the director and assistant director.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and describe the design of practical online learning in the arts by utilizing social media as a platform to enforce lecturing activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the impact of the use of social media. The data was collected through focus group discussion, observations, interviews and documentation. The subjects involved in this research were 10 students who took major piano instruments in the Music Education Study Program at Lampung University. This research used qualitative methods, by analyzing interactive data. The results of the data analysis showed that the use of social media in piano online learning was able to increase student motivation through competitive strategies. The learning design by utilizing social media can be used as one of the strategies to overcome the lack of student learning motivation in practical learning in the arts during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The development of science and technology is currently marked by the increasingly advanced field of Technology and Communication (ICT) in various sectors of life, including education. The use of application-based media is widely used during a pandemic. The world of education does not escape the role of digital-based media, such as learning in schools. There are times when students feel bored. Seeing the boredom of students when studying, it is necessary to make an innovation to motivate students to increase their enthusiasm. The author has an idea to create a music application. The purpose of this research is to make it easy for users or teachers and students to understand the material, especially Indonesian traditional music. The method used is Research and Development method and use the waterfall model, which is a systematic and sequential information system development model. Waterfall has the following stages: a. Requirements analysis and definition, b. System and software design, c. Implementation and unit testing, d. Integration and system testing, e. Operations and maintenance. The Mutranesia application is designed to support cultural arts learning in Indonesian traditional music materials. This app has six page views. First, the splash screen display. Second, display the Welcome page. Third, display the about page. Fourth, display the credits page. Fifth, map pages, and sixth, content display. The Mutranesia application is an android-based music application which has the concept of maps. Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in the form of learning materials for pitch, tempo, and dynamics with eurhythmic-based mp3 format. The theory used is music learning and eurhythmic dalcroze. This research is a research and development with ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) learning design model. The trial subjects were 40 students who were taking Diatonic Music Theory courses in the 2020/2021 school year. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire used to measure the feasibility of the product by material experts and product users. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics to determine the extent to which the product is feasible for use in the wider community. The result of this research is to produce a product in the form of teaching material about pitch, tempo and dynamics based on eurhythmic which is measurable its feasibility. Based on field trials, the product achieved an eligibility percentage of 93.3% with the category very feasible to use from the user's point of view, namely students as prospective teachers of cultural arts.

Abstract

Chant is a supportive song that is usually shown to idols. Chants are performed by fans as a form of love and support for their idols. Chants usually contain words of encouragement and support and that make the enthusiastic in competition. This study aimed to analyze the chants from one of the Indonesian soccer teams, namely PERSIJA JAKARTA (Persatuan Sepak bola Indonesia Jakarta). The chants that the researchers used are Kesurupan, Majulah Persija, and Menerjang Badai. In order to help the researchers in doing the analysis, Fandom Theory is used in this study to elaborate the lyrics of those three chants. As the result, those three chants do not only contain words of encouragement but also moral messages and even critics towards government.

Abstract

Music is an unlimited medium as a place to convey a message. Literally music is an arrangement of sounds that echo the rhythm and harmony produced from the instruments that can produce sounds. In other words music is a representation of the soul of someone who plays it. Kapital is a band from Tenggarong that performs metalcore music. The breadth of freedom of expression in music, Kapital band used music as a place to make criticisms of socio-political conditions. Kapital deliberately uses music as a medium of criticism because they realize that music lovers who listen to their work will be able to maximum capture the message if the message contained in their songs is a relevant problem with social conditions. This article, written using historical methods and the literature review approach, tried to briefly review socio-political issues in several songs released by Kapital band songs.

Abstract

Learning basic instruments (compulsory piano) is a basic piano practice course that must be taken for all students except for piano major students. Learning this basic instrument (compulsory piano) encountered obstacles, namely that students still did not understand and could play the piano. This is certainly an obstacle in the process of learning basic instruments (compulsory piano) especially in the current situation where learning is carried out online. Electronic modules or e-modules are needed to assist students in an effective and efficient learning process. This basic instrument e-module design (compulsory piano) can function as a problem-solving idea, namely to develop effective and efficient learning materials. The purpose of this study is to facilitate the learning process in the basic instrument class (compulsory piano). The basic instrument e-module design (compulsory piano) is an important element in online learning which is arranged in a systematic and interesting way. This electronic module can be accessed using gadgets owned by students and supports the environmentally friendly (paperless) movement. The research method used is Research and Development with several stages, namely need assessment, design, and development/implementation. The last stage in this research is evaluation and drawing conclusions. The data are directly obtained in the basic instrument class (compulsory piano) in the Music Education Study Program. This e-module design is expected to be useful for the effective and efficient progress of the learning process for basic instruments (compulsory piano) in the Music Education Study Program, FSP ISI Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Character education at SLB Negeri 1 Pemalang has not been able to run optimally since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the learning activities having to be carried out online. However, the efforts made by one of the teachers at SLB Negeri 1 Pemalang to create religious characters through song videos show that character education can still be done by utilizing technological advances in online learning. This study aims to describe and analyze children's song videos used by teachers to create religious characters for students with intellectual disabilities of class IV C at SLB Negeri 1 Pemalang. The research method of this study is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study show that the videos of songs by Nussa and Rara entitled "Rukun Iman", "Rukun Islam", and "Berkata Baik atau Diam" can be used by teachers to create religious characters for students with intellectual disabilities. The three songs have elements of similar musicality that are easy to be learned and mastered by students in the children's age group. The lyrics of these songs contain Islamic trilogy in the form of basic concepts of character building, namely aqidah, sharia, and morals. The three songs are presented in the form of animated videos so that it is interesting. It eases students with intellectual disabilities to accept and understand the learning material provided.

Abstract

Hikayat Banjar as a literary treasure with a mix of history and myths about the origin of the Banjar people is not well known to the younger generation of South Kalimantan. In fact, from the Hikayat Banjar, we can know the central role of the river as a wetland landscape. This research tries to revitalize the Hikayat Banjar in the form of a puppet creation video that contains the final part of the Hikayat Banjar music which is related to the history of the founding of the Banjar kingdom. This video was shown and watched by students of SMA Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah class XI. After watching the video, they were asked to answer questions about how they saw the show about the Hikayat Banjar which they had watched. From the results, it is known that there is a great relationship between Hikayat Banjar and the students' knowledge about the show. It is proven, only 56% of students know about Hikayat Banjar. However, this video itself was received positively by students and became their reference in understanding certain parts of the Banjar Hikayat.Meanwhile, the role of the river in the Hikayat Banjar is considered important by the respondents. Ninety-six percent of respondents agree that rivers play an important role, both socially and politically. Both are a means of regional development, as well as a battle arena. This study uses a descriptive approach to describe and view audience data in the questionnaire that has been filled out. The results show how Hikayat Banjar music position is on the horizon of audience reception.
