Abstract

Penelitian ini menggambarkan kemampuan pemelajar bahasa Prancis dalam memahami teks fiksi berbahasa Prancis, kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh pemelajar dan upaya yang dilakukan pemelajar untuk mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dimaksud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik studi pustaka, tes dan angket. Tes yang diberikan kepada pemelajar adalah tes kemampuan membaca tingkat ingatan yang berupa teks fiksi berbahasa Prancis. Soal-soal yang terdapat dalam tes ini berbentuk benar/salah, menjodohkan, dan isian singkat. Tes diberikan sebanyak dua kali dengan teks fiksi yang berbeda. Setelah tes dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan membaca pemelajar bahasa Prancis dalam membaca teks fiksi berbahasa Prancis tergolong cukup baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil tes sebagian besar para pemelajar dengan rata-rata presentase nilai tes kemampuan membaca sebesar 61,5 % untuk tes pertama dan rata-rata sebesar 69,83% untuk tes kedua.

Abstract

This study illustrates the ability of students in understanding French fiction texts, the difficulties faced by learners and the efforts made by students to overcome the difficulties. The method used is the descriptive method. The data collection technique was carried out with literature study, test and questionnaire. The test given to students is Tes kemampuan membaca tingkat ingatan (memory level reading ability test) in the form of fiction texts in French. The questions in this test are in the form of true / false, matchmaking, and short answers. The test is given twice and for each test students are given a different fiction text. After the test, it can be concluded that the results of the study indicate that the reading ability of French learners in reading French fiction texts is quite good. This can be seen from the results of the tests of most students with an average percentage reading test score of 61.5% for the first test and an average of 69.83% for the second test.

Abstract

"Peau d'Ane" is one of the tales of Charles Perrault, a French writer. "Peau d'Ane" is included in a collection of "Les Plus Beaux Contes", which contains the works of Charles Perrault. "Peau d'Ane" is one of story about a princess but somehow the function of a prince as a hero doesn't appear in this fairy tale. This study uses the theory of fairy tales function according to Propp which divides functions in fairy tales into 31 and 7 action circles. The purpose of this study is to describe the functions and the circle of action in the "Peau d'Ane" fairy tale. This research using qualitative descriptive method. The results of the analysis. of functions in the "Peau d'Ane" show that there are 19 functions appear and 5 spheres of actions. These 19 functions form the storyline in the "Peau d'Ane" fairy tale, while in the 5 spheres of action appear as actors who have roles in the fairy tale.

Abstract

Translation in the process is a complex matter, so it is probable that in the translation process there are a lot of problems that can lead to translation errors. By using the case study research method (Case Study) the author tries to study, describe and sort out the syntax errors in the use of sentence structure that appear in the translation of Indonesian University of Education Japanese students' scientific papers. The results of data analysis showed that there were 45 errors found and many that appeared were form errors in sentence patterns, errors due to omission of parts of the sentence pattern, word order errors and errors added to the sentence pattern not to dominan.

Abstract

This article aims to identify types of bilingual landscapes based on their contents, to describe the forms of the language use, and to describe the composition of language used. The objects of this study were 174 bilingual landscapes found around the city of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia taken from a number of different public places (campuses, hospitals, streets, commercial areas, stations, and restaurants). Data were taken based on simple random sampling. Data were analised using descriptive statistic. The results of the study showed that of the 174 bilingual landscapes data, the types of landscapes could be classified into six categories: General Information with 78 landscapes (44.82%), followed by Promotion with 56 landscapes (32.18%), Procedures 16 landscapes (9.20%), Prohibition 14 landscapes (8.04%), Request 6 landscapes (3.44%), and Thank You expressions 3 landscapes (1.72%) and Congratulation 1 landscape (0.57%). On the forms of language use, the finding showed that there were three forms of use (Translation, Code Switching/Code Mixing, and Transliteration).

Abstract

Discussion of predicative possession is actually a fairly extensive discussion. The aspects studied in this paper is to discuss what role that appears in predicative possession of the English language that is studied semanticallty. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The data used in this paper is taken from the British National Corpus (http://www.natcorp.ox.ac.uk/). Data collected contains phrase predicated ownership in the English language with the verb have, own, possess, and belong to. The role that arises in predicative possession in English in have, own, possess, and belong to verbs indicate that the noun phrase occupies the position of the subject and object in the form of animate consisting of humans, animals, and plants and it is also convey inanimate objects consisting of concrete objects and abstract objects. The role occupying the subject/owner (possessor) in active sentences with have, own and possess verbs are benefactive, recipient, experiencer, and maleficiary and those which occupy the object/possessee are neutral, and force. While the active sentence on belong to verbs and passive sentences on own verbs that occupy the subject's role are the opposite, namely neutral, and force. In addition, occupying the object are the roles of benefactive, recipient, experiencer, and maleficiary.
