Abstract

Rumah Bako Cafe is a recommended destination for food traveller to hangout. The result of the early analysis is the information of Sign System has not been optimalize so there are many obstacles for visitors to go to the location. The purpose of designing the Sign System for Rumah Bako Cafe is not only for giving directions but also for providing information to visitors, to escort them to find the facilities that they need. The methodology for this experiment is qualitative method and it is used to get data containing facts that occur in the field through direct contact to owners, employees and visitors. The method for designing Sign System is based on the fact that information through an existing Sign System is not optimal. The method starting from data collection, interviews and observations. So that the problems that occur can be known, and from the identification of these problems are analyzed using the theory of What, where, when, who, why and How (5W1H). Based on this method, the concept of the Sign System was found that can be used to introduce and optimize information about the Rumah Bako Cafe so that it can be identified, remembered and known to the target audience which then becomes the center of attention. The main media used are Traffic Sign, Commercial Sign, Wayfinding Sign, and Safety Sign. In addition to the main media, the Sign System is equipped with supporting media such as stickers, t-shirts, banners, banners, banners, and mapping cafes which aim to strengthen the application of the main media.Keyword: Sign System, Rumah Bako Cafe, Media

Abstract

Tourism information in Padangsidimpuan about history, geographic location, nature turism, city icons, and culinarys is lacking. The potential palace is the main factor of the author to design a promotion website for tourism in Padangsisimuan city. The website is the medium thats widely used in todays modern era. This due to rapid technological decvelompment and needs communicaty to get information quickly and accurate with a wide audiences. The method of designing website promotion of Padangsidimpuan city start from collecting data through observations, interviews, and documentations. So thats problem can be known and identification of the problem can be analyzed using the 5W+1H theory (What, Who, Where, When, Why, How). The method can helping to solve problems and trigger the emergence of ideas to solve problems in the design website to promotion tourism in Padangsidimpuan city. The main medium used in this promotion is website with supporting media such as poster, web bnner, key chains, t-shirts, stickers, mug, and pocket books.Keyword : Website, Promotion, Tourism

Abstract

The city of Padang is the capital of the province of West Sumatra. As a provincial city there are many businesses engaged in services, among the service bureaus in the city of Padang are Newa pelaminan. Newa Pelaminan has been established for 13 years but the promotion carried out has not gone well. Presentation of information about products in Newa Pelaminan is still not well presented.The purpose of this design is to produce a digital catalog of Newa Pelaminan in Padang that is attractively packaged with photos of products from Newa Pelaminan and contains information about contact persons, addresses, and websites that are expected to provide information to clients to contact or visit stores from Newa Aisle.The data analysis method used is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). Data collection begins with observation, interviews and documentation. The design of this digital catalog uses photos of products from Newa Pelaminan, text, colors and layouts that are interesting and understandable. Through the design of this catalog, it is hoped that the Newa Pelaminan business can attract the attention of the consumer audience so that in the future it can reach a wider target market. This design uses the theory of visual communication design, media, color, typography, and layout.This design produces a digital-based catalog containing price packages according to the price determined by the owner. Besides that, it also has a model of wedding, catering, fabric models, balloon, photographer and professional tents. Abstract

This final work is to get traditional food packaging that has been updated to be interisting and can  add a new target audience. Through packaging design it is hoped that this business can have a  visual identity application that is able to attract the attention of the consumer audience so that in  the future it can reach a wider target market.This design uses visual communication theory design, media, typography color and layout. Data  collection begins with observation, interviews and documentation. Furthermore, the data analysis  method used is SWOT (Strenght, Weaknes, Oportuninty, Treatment)This design produces packaging in the form of a rectangular box. Abstract

The purpose of this design is to design a visual branding of Mrs. Lasnawinda’s knitting business by using ‘lasna’ as a brand identity, which is taken from the owner’s own name. Brand Lasna hopefully will make the consumers can recognize lasna’s products easily from other competitors. This visual branding is designed to help the company introduces Lasna ‘s product to their potential consumers. An appropriate strategy shall be made to express characteristic from Lasna’s Product So that lasna can build consumer awareness and also be able to loyal to the brand. the design stages start with research, data analysis, and design. The research data were done by interviews, observation, and documentation. These data were analyzed by using S.W.O.T analysis.The main media for the visual branding of lasna is a manual book, which is useful as a guide for lasna company to apply the brand so that lasna can always keep consistent with their image and characteristic. Also, promotional media such as stationery set, exhibition poster, X-banner, T-shirt, Paper bag, Tags, and social media pages. Abstract

The comic book "Sangeda & Gajah Putih" tells how the story about the appearance of the White Elephant in Aceh to The local comic fans as its primary target. The design goal was an effort to preserve one of Aceh's local cultural values in the form of printed media, namely comic books. The design method used in designing was a combination of the Glass-box and Black-Box methods. This design used a book titled "Gadjah Putih Iskandar Muda" written by a historian about White Elephant in Aceh in full and The interviews with three speakers as the main data source, and The additional data sources were obtained through observation, location documentation, and data on The Internet. Problem solving and data analysis are answered using a 5W + 1H data analysis model. The data is then used as a reference for drafting verbal and visual elements approaches of comic book “Sangeda & Gajah Putih”. The Drawing process of "Sangeda & White Elephant" Comic Book was completely done digitally using Drawing tablets. The final product of the design consists of the main media in the form of comic book as printed media and The supporting medias consisting of animations, posters, stickers, X-banners, papercraft, art books, T-shirts, Instagram accounts, and Webcomic..Keywords: White Elephant, Comic book, Folklore, Valueable local cultures of Aceh

Abstract

Based on the findings of the problem through an interview with the owner of Herbal Tea PT.  AndalasSitawaFitolab, Mr. Prof. Deddi Prima Putra on December 20 and 27, 2017.There’s no optimal packaging yet for these herbal tea products available in the company, so it is necessary to re-design it as one of the promotional media that is able to provide information and create the image impression to influence competitors. The purpose of packaging re-design is to maximize the packaging design to achieve the competitiveness of the competitor and the selling power of a product in marketing by (1) Creating a new packaging design with a simple but still attractive look. (2) Creating a new and informative packaging design so as to attract potential customers to buy. (3) Improving existing weaknesses in the packaging to be able to increase the selling value of the product to increase the company's turnover. The design methodology used in the re-design of herbal tea packaging is through descriptive qualitative analysis method with SWOT analysis approach (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Treatment) that can answer and solve existing problems and be able to develop creative design ideas. The design results of the re-design of herbal tea packaging as the main media are in the form of box packaging with size (13x7x8) cm, Hang Tag, and Secondary Packaging in the form of teabag packaging. Abstract

Website is one of nowadays information media that provide any kinds of spoken, written, and verbal informations. People really like Minangkabau traditional food recipes Websites. But, these websites are not optimal yet.Minangkabau traditional food recipes Website contain some Minangkabau traditional food recipes that is not popular anymore. This website was designed informatively, comunicatively, and inovatively using visual communication design elements and principles. Design aims to help people who wants to learn Minangkabau traditional cook easier.The design method is black box method. The analysis approach is 5W+1H analysis (what, who, where, when, why, and how) to find the solution for the problems. The process starts by data collection and observation over the existing traditional food websites and interview some restaurant chef. Abstract

Tempe date of profile update is located at Jl. Dr.M. Ketaping Hatta Padang. This effort is an attempt First Instance in the city of Padang, because this business process food tempe tempeh traditional into modern food. The goal of this effort to entice consumers to gravitate back to traditional foods that are less favored by teenagers.The tempeh effort existence is still unclear, it is the lack of business owners do promosian via social media and fliers. Previous packaging only using ordinary plastic. From the problems of interest to the design is to make tempeh date of profile update product packaging design.The design of packaging is carried out by stages such as data collection and design. This collection process through interviews with business owners. While the data analysis process by means of a SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Thethreat) in getting through the collection of data observation and documentation directly to the business location. Further analysis of a product and designing products. This design will show the final design at the date of profile update tempeh products. Abstract

The existing Tusuk Tusuk Kunti packaging design is not safe for taking away and it could not keep the food quality, information about the product was not available, and the old design had not been a good promotion media yet.Tusuk Tusuk Kunti packaging design which is more communicative, more interesting, and safer will be able to present message from Tusuk Tusuk Kunti. The purpose of this design is to introduce Tusuk Tusuk Kunti identity to people and being a good promotion media for reaching a larger trade.The analysis method used in this design is SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threats) analysis to find the solution from the problem encountered. Designing process starts from data collection, observation, and documentation to collect the data and observe directly without participating in the production from the beginning to the final. Supporting media to support main media are poster, apron, sticker, x-banner, t-shirt, menu list and banner.Keywords: Redesign, packaging, food, snacks.
