Abstract

The idea that human interaction with dolphins may be beneficial was first formulated in the 1960s by John Lilly, who studied dolphin-human communication and suggested that dolphins could help humans learn to communicate better with one another. Lilly's ideas were extended into the 1970s when dolphin researchers began examining the effects that interacting with dolphins appeared to have on children with neurological impairments (1). The choice of dolphins for this interaction program with ASD children and many other such programs has been based on a number of factors namely: positive image of these animals in the general population (big, protective, friendly aquatic mammals, intelligent and communicative); curious, easily and willingly trainable; capable of sustaining complex interaction with humans when properly condi-tioned; general cooperative and playful attitude; accepting physical contact, including hugs, caresses and kisses; non-threatening expression; soft skin, and delicate movements. These factors have been suggested as useful, in facilitating the establishment of their relationships with humans, with possible therapeutic effects in children (2).

Abstract

Physical, emotional and sexual abuse of children is a major problem in South Africa, with severe negative outcomes for survivors. To date, no known studies have used data directly obtained from community-based samples of children to investigate prevalence, incidence, locations and perpetrators of child abuse victimisation. This study aims to investigate prevalence and incidence, perpetrators, and locations of child abuse victimisation in South Africa using a multicommunity sample.

Abstract

Alcohols are a rich source of compounds from renewable sources, but they have to be activated in order to allow the modification of their carbon backbone. The latter can be achieved via oxidation to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones. Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH) are ubiquitous in higher organisms and participate in metabolizing a wide variety of alcohols and aldehydes, as an important “detoxification” mechanism. Alcoholic and alcohol abuse are due to many interconnected factors, including genetics, how you were raised, your social environment, and your emotional health. lower emotional intelligence is predictive of alcohol-related problems.

Abstract

Lack of Vitamin A (KVA) is still a widespread problem throughout the world, especially in developing countries and can occur at any age, especially during growth. KVA in the body can cause various types of diseases that are "Nutrition Related Diseases" which may involve a wide range of anatomy and function of organs such as lowering the immune system and lowers epitelisme skin cells .One of the impact of less in Vitamin A is an eyes abnormality, which generally occurs in children aged 6 months - 4 years and become a major cause of blindness in developing countries. Toddlers Malnutrition in 2013 amounted to 2,475 (0.30%) compared to the year 2012 with number of 1,131 (0.06%). The Incidence of malnutrition are more prevalent in infant girls (1,305 cases) than infant boys under five years old (1,170 cases). While the percentage of Toddlers malnutrition is getting treatment in 2013 amounted to 100%.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) conversion is a vital milestone that remains rarely assessed in TB mitigation programs. Objectives: This study aimed to explain the effects of body mass index (BMI) and housing index status on TB conversion in a developing country.  Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 51 TB patients in the three health centres (Puskesmas) with the highest TB incidences in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, using data reported in the the first quarterly report of 2008. We used bivariate association with Fisher’s exact test to review TB conversion determinants. Results: The results indicated that TB occurred predominantly in men (51%) and people over 40 years old (74,5%). Factors indicating that TB conversion is associated with both adequate nutrition and housing in TB patients approached significance (RP = 1.0 and p = 0.05). Conclusions: However, housing and nutrition status are rarely considered as determinants of TB conversion in the assessment of TB outcomes. We suggest increasing sample distribution and introducing other factors related to healthcare as supply variables for further study.

Abstract

P Cognitive Assessment is an assessment of learning efforts based on the results of one’s comprehension. One of the factors that affect the result of one’s learning is the media and interest. The objective of this study is to find out the effects of presentation slide, demonstration, video and interest of learning ASKEB I. They affect toward the Cognitive Assessment by Midwifery students semester IV in STIKES Maranatha Kupang, 2016. This study is using cross sectional method with quantitative approach. 120 respondents taken using total sampling method. Analysis method applied in this study is Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method using SmartPLS 2.0 dan SPSS 18. The results of hypothesis test show variables that directly affect the cognitive assessment. (42.47% towards the learning media and 28.68% towards the learning interest). On the other hand, there is 4.05% variable found, affecting the learning media in cognitive assessment via learning interest. The Q-Square test results showing the analysis model conducted in this study is able to explain 87.48% of the phenomenon researched. The 12.51% rest is the factors that are not taken in this research. This is showing that there is correlation between learning media and learning interest toward cognitive assessment. It is expected that all the parties increase the learning interest and update more variable learning media to get good achievement.

Background: During pregnancy a mother will experience many changes both anatomically and physiologically. Pregnancy exercise is one of the activities in the service during pregnancy or prenatal care, which aims to prepare and train the muscles so that it can be used optimally in a normal delivery. Objective: to determine the frequency distribution of pregnant women who carry pregnancy exercise, and the relationship of several factors with pregnancy exercise in Pasar Minggu Health Center period from March to June 2016. Methods: This cross sectional analytic approach, sampling study with accidental sampling method. Samples numbered 30 people which measured by a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate using chi-square test (x2). Results: There are significant association between education (p-value = 0.003), knowledge (p-value = 0.002), support families (p-value = 0.001) with the implementation of pregnancy exercise on the mother 2nd and 3rd trimester pregnant women in the class of Pasar Minggu Health Center. Conclusion: there is a relationship between education, employment, knowledge and family support with the implementation of pregnancy exercise. However, further research needs to cover the factors related to the implementation of pregnancy exercise.

Abstract

Background: Today, Community healthcare requires provider’s reliability in order to satisfy the patient. The healthcare provider should be able to measure the level of performance and the level of importance in order to service efficiency.Method: The research used quantitative method with operational research design to measure importance level and performance of service attribute in poly Asma-Allergy Dr. Indrajana Clinic Jakarta. Level of importance and performance measured by Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method to 20 types of service attributes, Patient expectation describes Importance level, while patient satisfaction describes Performance level of service attribute. Results: The results showed that there are 10 types of service attributes that should be "Maintained", one type of service attribute should be "Fixed", one type of service attribute should be "Low Priority", and 8 types of service attributes should be "Eliminated". The average fit between satisfaction with expectation is 82.46%. The middle value of importance level is 4,19 and performance 3,67 (on scale 1 until 5).Conclusion: This study found that the level of compliance between patient satisfactions with patient expectation is not yet optimal. Clinics have quite a number of service attributes that are superior, but there are still service attributes that must be improved and should even be ruled out. It is suggested to the Clinical management to optimize service resources on attributes that should be "Maintained".
