Abstract

First step in effective management is to determine the goals and objectives that have to achieve. Through achievement the goals, we can measure the corporate and the manager performance as performance target. The ability to explaining achievement goals depending on business performance measurement with the purpose of economic performance that containing financial aspect in monetary squad to showing value from business activities. This concept called Shareholder Wealth Maximization Model (SWM) perspective.Its contrast is Corporate Wealth Maximization Model (CWM) perspective. The different is in principal goal that should be to maximize corporate wealth. CWM perspective is broader than SWM perspective because in CWM perspective, corporate wealth measured by financial and noneconomic performance. The symmetry between financial business performance and non-economic performance: become sustainability chain to long term survival.The implementation of non-economic performance in CWM is explained by involvement of exertion to shape business ethic and social responsibility programs. The social responsiblity programs are social obligation, social reaction and social response. Corporate may achieve the highest degree of social responsiblity by social response approach when it look at social responsiblity as part of the achievement of business goals to create economic value.

Abstract

The field of human resources (HR) management is expected to play more strategic roles in the global context of business. Consequently, a new paradigms are needed to be internalized into the mind of HR professionals. Unfortunately, it seems that not all, if not most, of HR pofessionals have those new paradigms, causing a lot of people perceive HR department as being stagnant. This article seeks to examine the historical roots that have shaped HR departments and HR professionals into their recent form. Then, it tries to identify the challenges faced by HR professionals and what can be done to anticipate those challenges.Among the proposed solutions are learning process and entrepreneurship development. Finally, this article also discusses the career prospect in the field of HR management.

Abstract

There is little question that strategic management is undergoing profound perspective change as the 21st draw to close. What are the forces for change? Where are strategic management going? What are the obstacles to getting there? These are the questions I propose to discuss in this paper. In order to maintain the existence of an organization, the role of strategic management more crucial in many organizations. On one hand, the strategic management is have to be fermulated with high adaption to environment changes and match with their own core capabilities. On the other hand, organizations have an precendented opportunity to refocus their internal activities system as strategic assets. Transforming this conditions into an opportunity, however, requires a new strategic management perspective, especially to formulate the matching strategy. The world is surprised because of new perspective in Strategic management that have specific description.The two perspectinves of strategic management socialized by Michael Porter and Hamel and Prahalad. These two perspectives inspires strategist to find the right strategic concept before their formulate the right strategy for their company. This paper describe and clarify the focus, color and the specific implementation of Porter and Hamel and Prahalad perspective on Strategic Management.

Abstract

The prime focus of this paper is evaluation of Indonesian Mutual Funds, which are investing the funds on stock. Mutual fund is a portfolio, which managed by professional fund manager. The professional fund manager who always seek a new information connecting with their portfolio has a better information than individual investor. The mutual fund's portfolio should has higher performance than individual investor’s portfolio as well as the market's portfolio due to asymmetric information: The statistical results use mean difference t-test to support our hypothesis that the mutual fund's portfolio has a better performance than individual investor's portfolio as well as the market's portfolio.

Abstract

This study of team gives a review of the conditions needed for the members of the team, so they will have competency in teamwork. The application of team work is used by many organization, but a little consequences about readiness of team players. The review of these conditions especially is limited for interpersonal conditions which are needed for the members of the team, and the conditions such as: (1) suitable personality; (2) competency to solve the conflicts (3) collaborative problem solving; and (4) communication. Beside that it also reviews about the development of every individual member to be a team player from the sight point of human resources management, such as (1) recruitment; (2) training; (3) performance appraisal; (4) career development; (5) compensation, and (6) job analysis.The research used literature study of several scrunities about teamwork and human resources management. The conclusion is that human resources management practice could used as tools to create team player competences.

Abstract

In several analysis about the roles and function of a program study in the future that a main roles of education is quality. Program Study that can not keep their quality will be lose in the competition, and make the community not survive in the 21st era.The Program Study has responsibility in quality of realization "tridharma" (Learning, Research and Public Service). That is the reason why the program study should has Quality Management System (QMS) to meet and exceed the stakeholder requirement. The successfully of Manufacturing industry and Service industry get standard ISO 9000 as a Management System can be adopted by program study to improve education quality.This paper describes the important of Quality Management System and the implementation on the program study in order to increase the performance of program study.
