Jurnal Ilmu Informasi Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan is a journal of Library and Information Science published by the Information Science, Library and Archival Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, State University of Padang. This paper focuses on the application of management functions in the management of the Library Tamansiswa SMK Padang. This study aims to reveal: (1) describe the application of management functions in the management of the library in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang, (2) describe the implementation of activities in the management of library management functions in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang, (3) describe the constraints in the implementation of management functions in the management of libraries in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang. Based on the results of direct observation and interviews with library staff can be summarized as follows. First, the application management functions particularly in the processing of library materials in the library SMK Padang Tamansiswa not running optimally. Second, the activities in the application management functions particularly in the processing of library materials in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang did not start well as penginventarisasian, classification and processing of library materials. Third, the absence of the constraints faced by human resources (HR) or personnel librarians who are experts in the library, in addition to the limited space in particular library reading room.

The purpose of writing this paper is to describe how the data processing inactive records law by using the Microsoft Access program at the Office of State Court Payakumbuh. The method used in writing this paper is the observation and direct participation by collecting data from the original source data list files written in a register clerk. Microsoft Access use data processing performed on the data file received from October to December of 2011, amounting to 110 archival data, consisting of a data file civil cases and criminal cases archived data. The treatment process begins with mengentri data into the table in Microsoft Access and create a Query. Query was created as a tool to search the data, because queries can answer questions on the data in question. Making Query in Microsoft Access only put one formula on Parameter Query and Query straight to work. Working with Query makes the search easy and fast.

This paper aims to: (1) describe the implementation of an existing campaign to Solok City Public Library, (2) describe the constraints faced by the promotion on Solok City Public Library as well as efforts to overcome the obstacles faced by the Solok City Public Library. This paper uses descriptive method, the technique of collecting data through observation or direct observation Solok City Public Library, and interviews with the librarian at the Solok City Public Library. The findings of the promotion by Solok City Public Library has not been able to increase the interest uses to come to Solok City Public Library. It can be seen from the data end at Solok City Public Library in 2011.

The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the effectiveness and service strategies in the Library of UNAND, requiring techniques that are expected to improve the quality of service is through rebranding. Data collection tool that is used to describe the qualitative data are observation, field notes, interviews with library staff, and literature. Analyzing the data be descriptive. By analyzing the data, it was concluded the following. First, the implementation of the rebranding at the Library of UNAND not vitiated financial, library management, to own inviters. Second, service strategies through rebranding less applied in Library of UNAND.

The purpose of this study to describe process production index anotation of journal humaniora at Libraries Kopertis Region X. Method that use is deskriptif method, itâ€™s meaning describe the real data. The data get from observation to library and study of library. Match with analysis process production index anotation is: (1) select the indexing procedure that: doing control and selection, choose the part that will describe, choose the key word and make anotation, with select the rule of describe; (2) certainty that use in indexing is: the part of journal, certainty the name of author, title of article, element that will use, and formation of index; (3) and the last process is write the index anotation.

This paper contains an annotated bibliography by subject manufacture medicine using the Microsoft Access at Libraries Kopertis Region X. This study aimed to describe the process of making medical subjects annotated bibliography using Microsoft Access 2007 in the Library Kopertis Region X Padang. Data were collected through observation and direct observation in the Library Kopertis Region X. Analyzing the data be descriptive. Based on data analysis, creation of bibliographic summarized as. (1) Specifies the title of the bibliography is based on information requested by library visitors, (2) collection reading materials by direct collection, (3) selection reading materials with form of monographs, (4) classification grouped based DDC. (5) typing the manuscript bibliography can be helped using Microsoft Access program, (6) index creation can use Microsoft Access program, (7) create keywords create by using the language of the medical dictionary, and (8) checks script.

This research aims to describe (1) identification of activities or selection of vital records in the High Court of Padang, (2) the protection and security of vital records in the High Court of Padang, and (3) rescue and recovery of vital records High Court of Padang. Writing this using qualitative methods, analyzing the data carried by describing and explaining data. Data were collected by interview and observation. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded. (1) High Court idetifikasi Padang vital records have not been performing well, because many vital records are not identified as a result of the vital records that do not match the identification process. (2) the protection and security of vital records in the High Court of Padang done differently in each part. (3) Rescue and recovery of vital records in the High Court has never dilaksnakan Padang, because the archive at the High Court in Padang have never experienced a disaster or calamity.

The objective is to (1) describe the preservation and, (2) constraints encountered in the preservation of records at the office of the High Court of Padang and solutions. Data were collected through observation and interviews with archivists at the Office of the High Court of Padang. Analyzing the data be descriptive. Analyzing data can be summarized as follows. Preservation of records has not been performing well due to the cleaning room archives still using manual and preservation manual does not have archives so that causes some archives to accumulate and not preservation. And constraints faced by the state of the room and facilities are still very simple, a small office to a large volume of records that can not accommodate the archive files created causing overlap. In addition, the number of archivists are still lacking in the field.

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of automation systems in library cataloging materials in the Library of the University of Andalas. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive method, which describe the data relating to the implementation of the automation system library cataloging materials in the Library of the University of Andalas. To obtain the data used several instruments, namely observation and interview guides. The findings of the study is the application of automation to cataloging library materials not maximized because the computer often suffer damage to its hardware, data book yet fully recorded in the computer, the amount of hardware is less when compared to the amount of data library materials, management automation are not maximized in distributing data to circulation and OPAC, and the number brainware make fewer librarians work slow.

The purpose of writing this paper are: (1) to describe the implementation of information literacy at the library of SMA Negeri 1 Padang, (2) to describe the barriers found in implementing the information literacy at library SMA Negeri 1 Padang. Collecting data was done interview and direct information to trough the librarian of SMA Negeri 1 Padang based on data analyzing, it can be concluded: First, the student of SMA Negeri 1 Padang had made use the information technology very well, meanwhile the librarian of SMA Negeri 1 Padang was not capable to help the student to find the information properly by not implementing information literacy program, information literacy model, information retrieval, and user education the library of SMA Negeri 1 Padang, so that the optimalization of information did not run well. Second, the cause of the implementing information literacy at the libarary SMA N 1 Padang was that the librarian had not know the information literacy, so that the implementation of information literacy was hard to apply optimally.
