Abstract This research is about the writing of a package book containing information of local-bared content herbal medicines. The purpose of this research is to explain kinds of Minangkabau herbal local plants and their benefits. Further, it will describe the processes of writing the book. This research is conducted by using descriptive method and the data are collacted through observation and interview toward local community who own herbal plants in RT 02/RW 11 Dadok Tunggul Hitam and Lubuk Minturun Agro-tourism located in Koto Tangah sub-discrict in Padang. After the data are analyzed, it can be conducted that there are some stages and designs in writing the book. The stage are: (a) identifying the reader needs; (b) set topic of information; (c) collecting informations; (d) evaluating the information validity; (e) analyzing, selecting, and eztracting the information; (f) repackaging information; and (g) defining the readers. The designs are: (1) composing the framework of writing; (2) making cover; (3) making introduction; (4) making table of contents; (5) the content of the book; (6) closing; and (7) back cover.Keywords: information, package of information, and herbal medicine

The purpose of this study were: (1) describe the factors causing damage to the collection in Solok City Public Library, (2) describe what actions need to be done on the collections that have been damaged in Solok City Public Library. Types of research conducted included into qualitative research. The data was collected through observation and interviews. Based on the results of direct observation and interviews with library staff can be concluded, first, the cause of damage to library materials in the city's public library Solok are: (1) factors biota, the book caused damage by insects, termites, nerds, (2) physical factors, the effect of temperature and humidity, the effect of unfavorable light, and air pollution. Second, the techniques of conservation and maintenance of library materials is less applicable in Solok City Public Library. Keywords: preservation; collections; public

Abstract The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the making of comic library services in the Tanah Datar District Library and Library Office. Writing this paper using descriptive research methods. Data was collected based on interviews with 2 librarians by interacting directly with humans at the place of study. The study was conducted at the Tanah Datar District Public Library on October 21, 2019.Based on the previous discussion it can be concluded that the comic service at the Tanah Datar District Library and Archives Service can provide several benefits including: (1) can provide information to visitors about library services; (2) the librarian's assistant in giving and providing information in the library. The steps for making comic services in the Tanah Datar District Library and Archives Service are as follows: (1) preparing tools and materials; (2) determine ideas or ideas; (3) determine the theme or genre; (4) determining figures or figures; (5) making a story script; (6) explains the stages of making comics.Keywords: comics, services, library

This article aims to describe the technique of preparation of annotated bibliography thesis students of Indonesian Literature Library collection 2009-2013 Year Indonesian Language and Literature Department, State University of Padang. Making this annotated bibliography can help library user in information retrieval required by pemustaka without having to read the whole essay tersbut. Based on these explanations can be concluded that the stages in the manufacture of annotated bibliography for thesis students of Indonesian Literature Library collection 2009-2013 Year Indonesian Language and Literature Department at the State University of Padang as follows: (1) determination of the title of the bibliography; (2) collecting data yng techniques used in obtaining the data using direct observation to the field; (3) the selection of library materials in the author aims to facilitate the preparation of an annotated bibliography tersbut; (4) grouping aims for the preparation of this biblografi systematically arranged; (5) keyword generation; (6) preparation of the index, which is used to facilitate retrieval pemustaka preformance layout word; (7) Typing bibliography, which consists of writing the author's name, title writing, Legal information (city of publication, publisher, year of publication), and collation; (8) the final editing bibliography which aims to avoid small mistakes which can give rise to doubts about the annotated bibliography. AbstractIn this paper discusses about community perceptions of the nagari movement loves to read program in Nagari Saok Laweh Solok district. This study aims to reveal: (1) community perceptions of the nagari movement loves to read program in Nagari Saok Laweh Solok district, (2) constraints found in nagari movement loves to read program. Data collected by quantitative research by spreading the questionnaire to the people of Nagari Saok laweh. The sample used was 145 (one hundred forty five) respondents. Data analysis conducted using quantitative method with descriptive method. The result of questionnaire was prepared by recapitulation of research result. The analysis by describing the results of recapitulation in a description to clarify the results of the numbers so easily understood. Based on the results of the study concluded as follows: (1) people's perception towards Nagari Movement program in Nagari Saok Laweh Kabupaten Solok from the indicators of understanding, responses and community appraisal give positive perception, (2) the constraints found in the Gariy Reading program can come from the community as well as from the program itself. Constraints from the community such as reading constraints, and still lack of public desire to read. Constraints from such programs, the lack of number of cadres in charge of causing books in some homes are not replaced.Â Keywords: Perseption, peoples, program

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the promotion strategies undertaken by the Library Hall of Languages â€‹â€‹Padang. (2) describing the obstacles encountered in the promotion of Library Hall of Languages â€‹â€‹Padang. (3) describe problem solving in the face of obstacles promotional Language Institute Library Padang. Data through observation and interviews with librarians Library Language Institute Padang. Data collection was done descriptively. The findings of the study: first, pomosi strategies that exist in Padang Language Center Library include: establish communication with pemustaka, build cooperation with third parties, Constructing promotion programs, and work plan. Second, the constraints faced by the Library Hall of Languages â€‹â€‹Padang in library promotion are: (1) human resources, (2) limited funds, (3) facility. This article discuss about library effectiveness service in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang West Sumatera Indonesia. The conclusion based on analysis data is First the library service by librarian in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang not yet to do, because many student a little get and not use a service library. Second still find a trouble in service library activities in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang, like us less attention and miss understanding from the librarian about library service, less facility and estimate fund. And then less amount of service in the library it make not effective for service. Third the effort that can be doing to solve the problem is the librarian must get a special training and suggestion to more care about library service. To improve the facility and estimate fund, to get a better library effectiveness service for student.Â Keyword: effectiveness, service, different ability school

This paper discussed of the School Library Directory about Padang Panjang the province of West Sumatra. The preparation of this directory aims to create a product that can help users easily find information relating to school libraries around the town of Padang Panjang. In this paper the discussed about creation directory the school library around the town of Padang Panjang the province of West Sumatra. Methods used in writing this paper is the method descriptive. Technique data collection who writers included is direct observation, interview, direct observation, and the literature study. Based on the discussion we can conclude that measures in the manufacture of directory of the school library around Padang Panjang the province of west sumatra following; first, collected data on the school library around Padang Panjang; second, sorts data obtained; third, make a directory of the school library around Padang Panjang; the fourth, make a design of the cover.Keyword: Directory, Padang Panjang, school library.

Abstract In this paper discussed about Student Perceptions of Musical Instruments in the Bung Hatta University Library in Reading Comfort. The purpose of this research is to describe students' perceptions of musical instruments in the Bung Hatta University Library in Padang in the comfort of reading. This research method uses a quantitative approach. Data collected by distributing questionnaires to visitors at the Bung Hatta University library. Samples taken as many as 100 respondents. The results of the questionnaire were compiled by recapitulating research results. The analysis is by describing the recapitulation results in one description to clarify the figures so that they are easy to understand. Based on the results of the study concluded as follows: 1) instrumental music playback was applied as noise to increase productivity in reading, most of the majority (78%) of respondents said they disagreed about the music in the library of Bung Hatta University, and most of the 39% of respondents stated less agree regarding Music playback can increase productivity in reading. 2) listening to music can improve concentration, most 43% of respondents said they disagree about music playback can increase concentration in reading., Most 39% of respondents said they disagree and 38% agreed that music can support reading activities. 3) listening to music can calm the mind, most 34% of respondents said that they disagree about playing music in the library making the mind calm in reading. 4) listening to music can reduce external sounds that can distract, most 41% of respondents said they disagree about playing music can reduce noise outside the library room, most of the majority of 38% of respondents said they disagree about feeling comfortable with the sound of music in the library, because listening to music can reduce external sound that distracts reading. 5) listening to music can affect the pulse and blood pressure in accordance with the frequency, tempo and volume, most 40% of respondents agree that playing music in a library with a volume that is too loud can affect heart rate and blood pressure. 6) music is an external factor that makes users feel comfortable when reading, most 41% of respondents agreed with the existence of music playback students feel comfortable in reading, most 34% of respondents said they disagree about the officers always playing music during visiting hours.Keywords: perception, musical instruments, comfort

The purpose of this paper is describing process and construction of thesis index (S2) annotated Indonesian Language Teaching study Program 2005-2013 in Undergraduate Program of Padang State University Library. Collecting the data was done by observation and directly participation by collecting data from authentic source. Data analysis is descriptive method. The process of construction this thesis index annotated was started by examining thesis information that will be indexed, and then selected, grouped, noted the data, created the annotation, determined the key words, created the thesis index, and typed the index.
