Jurnal Ilmu Informasi Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan is a journal of Library and Information Science published by the Information Science, Library and Archival Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, State University of Padang. The journal covers all issues in information, librarianship and archival studies. The coverage of the discussion in librarianship may be viewed from various perspectives of disciplines. This paper focuses on making the library handbook as a means of promotion in the public libraryâ€™s youngest mountain. The purpose of this research is to create a handbook of Gunung Bungsu Public Library (PUGB) for the benefit of PUGB and librarians. Data were collected through documentation study, observation and interviews in the PUGB. The handbook is a guide or reference books in conducting activities in the library. The handbook can be used as a tool to facilitate the public to get information about libraries and library collections since the guidebook contains important information about the library. Collection of data and information in making the handbook conducted by ducumentation and observation. The first step in makingÂ handbook is the collection of data and information. Further preparation of the organizational framework. The conteats of the framework are is: a preface, table of contents, overview, vision, mission, functions and objectives, opening hours, membership, order, plan room, system service, type of service, procedure utilization, regulaion borrowing, lending procedures, the procedure returns, sanctions, classification pf library materials, documents call number, classification collection, browse, catalog description, Wi-Fi, e-mail, and cover. The final step in the handbookÂ is making the cover of the . The handbook cover of the book is designed by using the software CorelDraw X5. Keywords: handbook; library

This paper discuss about factors that cause a lack of the teacher's role to Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat. The purpose of this paper is: (1) describe the teacher's perception of the Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat, (2) describe the factors that cause a lack of participation in the school library. The research methodology used a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation and interviews. The interviews were conducted to teachers structured guided. Data was analyzid by: (1) describe the results of the interviews, (2) obtained in accordance with the theories discussed, (3) conclusions and (4) reporting. Based on analyzing the data it can be concluded: (1) teachers do not know the function of the library, (2) a collection of books in the library is not in accordance with the curriculum that is used in teaching and learning, (3) teachers tend to assign students the task of looking on the internet rather than using books existing library, (4) library interior uncomfortable so make teachers and students not visited the library and, (5) BOS funds are not used for library purposes. Collections of the Library of SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat can not meet the needs of teachers and students as seen collections of the library is not in accordance with the curriculum that is used in teaching and learning and a collection of books that are available most obselent. From this fact, teachers and students do not utilize the book in the library. The library can not meet the needs of teachers and students. Keywords: lack of using the library;Â teacher; students.

The purpose of writing this article are: (1) describe how the strategy of excellent service in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, (2) describe any obstacles countered in achieving excellent service in he Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The method use disqualitative approach. Collection of data through observation, interviews, and library research. Observations directly to the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Based on analyzing the data can be summarized as follows. (1) strategies to realize excellent service in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan of identifying primary determination of quality service, manage ekspentasi customers, managing service quality evidence, educating consumers about the services, fostera culture of quality, follow up services, and develop information systems quality of service, (2) the constraints faced in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation in the Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan realization excellent service strategy that is not the realization of automating quality. The purpose of this study was: (1) Describe the security records archival units inactivated in Road Infrastructure Agency, Spatial Planning and Housing of West Sumatra province, (2) to describe the obstacles encountered in securing the inactive records in archival units Agency Road Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and settlements of West Sumatra Province. This research includes descriptive research to obtain the necessary data in this study, the researchers conducted observations and interviews. The researchers conducted observations and interviews to two archivists. Safeguarding existing archives in archival unit has not been said to be good because there are no special security. Constraints faced by the archival unit in security for the archive (1) building frequent flooding archives so soak-arsp archive, which mostly comes from hard, (2) units kerasipan not have a special room, (3) do not create the archival unit order or regulation, (4) archivists do not have knowledge of the archives. The purpose of this research are describing: 1) the things that motivate university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University, 2) the factors that dominantly motivate university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University. The data were collected through observation and spreading questionnaire to the university students.Â Data analysis was done descriptively. Based on analyzed data, we can conclude that: First, the things that motivate university students in investigating information are: 1) sometimes librarian help university students to find materials that they need, 2) the university students have had objective that they want to reach, 3) the university students will be motivated if the information that is given by the librarian is attractive, 4) the librarians give admission to the university students, 5) the university students will be motivated if they are participated in a group, 6) doing the things that really motivate the university students, 7) the challenge will give motivation to the university students, 8) the university students need motivation support, 9) togetherness will motivate the university students. Second, the factors that dominantly motivate the university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University is internal factor that is come from the university students themselves. The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of an online catalog of the Library UNP: searching procedures, item information, colors and layout. Based on data analyzing, it can be concluded: (1) searching procedure in the design of an online catalog is still focused only on the search through the title alone and the lack of socialization of online catalog to the users, not on the details of the process of online books borrowing, and the lack of alternatives that leads title on the desired title, (2) the information in the online catalog is not yet clear and detailed, i. e. information such as the location where the books are stored, the classification of library materials have accurate information, and the lack of notification of the latest book in the library, (3) the use of color is less clear and make the users also less clear in getting information, and (4) layout on the composition of the title not neat in appearance yet. The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the process of indexing journal articles annotated in education as a means of information retrieval. Data obtained from direct observation in the Library of the State University of Padang. Analyzing data descriptively. Process adopted in the preparation of an annotated index of journal articles in education are: (1) collecting journal browse journals by education in Padang State University Libraries, (2) selecting and classifying journals, (3) create a description of the article, (4) make annotations in the form of article a brief description of the contents of the document, (5) determine the key words contained in the article, (6) create an index of journal articles education; (7) compiled an annotated journal articles index education; (8) typing index.
