Abstract

This article discuss about library effectiveness service in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang West Sumatera Indonesia. The conclusion based on analysis data is First the library service by librarian in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang not yet to do, because many student a little get and not use a service library. Second still find a trouble in service library activities in different ability school of Wacana Asih Padang, like us less attention and miss understanding from the librarian about library service, less facility and estimate fund. And then less amount of service in the library it make not effective for service. Third the effort that can be doing to solve the problem is the librarian must get a special training and suggestion to more care about library service. To improve the facility and estimate fund, to get a better library effectiveness service for student. Keyword: effectiveness, service, different ability school

Abstract

The purposes of this article are to describe: (1) the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat; (2) the problems that might be found in arranging the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat; (3) the efforts that can be taken to overcome the problems in arranging the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. The data were collected by interviewing the officer of Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat and by conducting an observation. Based on this research, it can be concluded that: (1) the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat has not been properly implemented, particularly in its management; (2) the problems that might be found in arranging the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat are low understanding of the officer, lack of supporter element, and not yet considered elements of the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in arranging policies; (3) the efforts that can be taken to overcome the problems in arranging the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat are increasing the understanding of the officer, fulfilling the supporter element, and considering the supporter element of the preparedness plan for facing earthquake in arranging policies. Keywords: planning, preparedness, earthquake

Abstract

The steps - steps in the manufacture of information system of borrowing and returning books at the Library SMK Kosgoro 1 Solok with Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 are as follows: First, designing procedures or groove of the new system to be created; Second, create a new project in Microsoft Visual Basic 2010; Third, create a form that consists of the main menu, login form, the form members, form books, borrowing books form, and form the return of books; Fourth, fill in the code on each button on each form and then save the project and run it. From the results of the manufacturing information system of borrowing and returning books by using Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 is expected to address the weaknesses - weaknesses that often occurs in vocational Library Kosgoro 1 Solok and is expected to assist librarians in the process of borrowing and returning books quickly and is also expected to accelerate in the preparation of the loan and return books and automatically calculating the cost of delay. Abstract

The purpose of writing this article, namely: (1) describe the effectiveness of library services in the Office of Archives and Library Payakumbuh; (2) describe the obstacles encountered in providing the services and efforts will be made so that the implementation of optimal and effective service. Data were collected by means of observation, interviews with librarians and questionnaire (questionnaire) with user library at the Office of Archives and Library Payakumbuh. The method used is descriptive and quantitative methods. Based on the results of the research, concluded as follows: (1) the effectiveness of library services in the Office of Archives and Library Payakumbuh not gone well, especially in the service retrieval, circulation services, reference services, services periodicals; (2) obstacles encountered in providing services is the lack of infrastructure, policies librarians in providing services to users is not optimal, the collection has not been prepared based classification, borrowing and repayment collections too long; and efforts is to add infrastructure and librarians noticed policies to be taken, the collection should have been prepared based on the classification, borrowing and repayment need not be too long. Keywords: Effectiveness, services, library

Abstract

This article aims to describe: (1) how the processing of library materials in the Library of SMAN 1 Painan South Coastal District, (2) what are the obstacles encountered in the processing of library materials in the Library of SMA N 1 Painan South Coastal District and (3) how problem solving encountered in the processing of library materials in the Library of SMAN 1 Painan South Coastal District. Data were collected through observation and interviews with librarians SMAN 1 Painan South Coastal District. Analyzing data descriptively. By analyzing the data, it was concluded matters as follows. First, the processing of library materials in the library SMAN 1 South Coastal District has not run with the maximum, because not all the implementation of activities such as, inventory of library materials, library materials classification, cataloging library materials, and the completion of the completeness of library materials. Second, the constraints encountered in the processing of library materials, namely: (1) is not maximal performance librarian, (2) lack of funds or the budgets allocated to libraries, (3) facilities and infrastructure are inadequate. Third, efforts were made so that the processing of library materials in the library SMAN 1 Painan South Coastal District goes well, namely: (1) improve the performance of librarians, (2) provide funding / budget for the library, (3) complement and provide facilities and infrastructure adequate. Abstract

This article aims to reveal the systematic design of the website. Data were collected through observation and interviews with librarians. Data analysis was done descriptively. By analyzing the data, it was concluded matters as follows. (1) the design of websites using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, (2) the information discussed in this paper about the website includes the steps of data collection by observation and interviews, process design websites with Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 as well as designing the header using applications Fireworks CS3 Portable, and (3) description of the scope of information is divided into seven key menu consisting of, first menu Home (congratulations came from the head of the museum), the second menu Profile (history, organizational structure, staff and vision), a third menu News (activity library), fourth menu Album (photo collection), the fifth menu Services (facilities and service time), the sixth menu Information (information about the library), and the seventh Contacts menu (comments and suggestions). Abstract

Based on analyzing the data, it was concluded the following things: first, the management of incoming mail at the Library and Archives of West Sumatra Province include: (1) receipt; (2) noted the activities of the script; (3) distribute to the activity; (4) processing letters; (5) store the control card. While the management of outgoing mail in the Library and Archives of West Sumatra Province include: (1) drafting; (2) approval of the concept; (3) typing letters; (4) the signing of a letter; (5) the recording of the letter; (6) the provision of official stamp; (7) cellophane; (8) delivery. Secondly, the obstacles encountered in the management of incoming and outgoing mail at the Library and Archives of West Sumatra Province include: (1) not all letters submitted to the clerk; (2) officers are often negligent because one of the numbering; (3) one employee returns the letter; (4) the lack of number of employees; (5) the handling of mail is often done by children field workers; (6) does not discipline employees; (7) employees home before work hours. Third, the efforts made to overcome te obstacles encountered in the management of incoming and outgoing mail at the Library and Archives of West Sumatra Province Include: (1) the head of the leadership should do the briefing; (2) the officer should be more careful in the management letter; (3) the officer must always exercise control over the employee; (4) the institution should use a computer system to keep the letter; (5) should be given sanction to employees who are not disciplined in his work. Abstract

Writing this article aims to describe: (1) problems about school librarian in the SMP N 3 Padang Panjang and; (2) efforts from school librarian in SMP N 3 Padang Panjang overcome the problem. Data were colleted through direct observation, interview with school librarian in the SMP N 3 Padang Panjang and study in library. Analyzing data with descriptively. Based on analyzing the data, we can conclude it – as follows; First, problems from school librarian manage in the SMP N 3 Padang Panjang library were factor from the human being be self were minus the ability from school librarian and then factor from school environment about minus from cooperation between school librarian with school side, haven`t enought fund and haven`t enought outfit or equipment. Second, efforts from school librarian to manage in the SMP N 3 Padang Panjang library were factor from the human being be self were treement from guidance and expand ability from school librarian and then from school environment were build cooperation between school librarian with school side, school side must organize fund and school side must fill outfit or equipment.Keywords : school librarian, guidance, expand ability

Abstract

Writing this article aims to describe (1) the implementation of the code of ethica librarian at the Librarian of the University of Padang; (2) the obstacles ancounteredin the implementation of the code of ethics oflibrarians and describe the efforts made to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of the code of ethics of librarians. Data collected by observation and interview with the librarian at the Library of the State University of Padang. Data analisis was done descriptively, it can be concluded that (1) Librarian Padang State University has been applying the basic attitude of librarians with the users, the relationship between librarians, community relations. But not all librarians are able to apply the code of conduct in the workplace, there are still many librarians who only know the code of ethics of librarians without applying the code of ethics of librarians; (2) in moking application of the Code Librarian at the Library of the University of Padang still has many obstacles, obstacles encounteredis the lack of know ledge of librarians about the basic attitude of librarians and do not know the code of ethics as a librarian professionals, lack of talent librarians to communicate and get along, so librarian hostility in serving meanwhile, efforts to be made by librarians terkain this obstacle is not maximized. Keywords: Implementation, code ethics
