Abstract

The study aims to know the role of The Regional Library West Sumatera in growing interest in reading the children. The research is a sort research of descriptive set which was done through the process of observation went straight through the interview process to the informant in the development and management of child’s interest The Regional Library West Sumatera. The method of analisys is carried out in a descriptive. Based on the interview process has been identified that The Regional Library West Sumatera have done a number of programs to faster interest in children to reading. The library have a area for children, as well as the effort to local governments to supplement it’s reading in children. In addition the government also estabilished a rapport with school in West Sumatera in general and the city of Padang at particural times. In accordance with the open interview process, there have been identified that a major constrait facing the area on the West Sumatera is a matter of funding to complete the materials reading, especially for children. In order to develop the interest reading of The Regional Library west Sumatera to do a program that supports children’s creativity as having the painting and various other positive event.Keyword: children, reading, The Regional Library West Sumatera.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the preparation of an annotated bibliography series of children's literature reading library collections Department of Language and Literature Indonesia Region Padang State University.The method used is descriptive method. Data collected by observation or observation. Observations were made directly browse the collection of literature reading series at the Library of the Department of English Literature Indonesia and the region. Once obtained, selanjutkan to identify the parts that will be created for the annotated bibliography. The results obtained in the direct observation, the number of collections of literary reading series at the Library of the Department of Language and Literature Indonesia Region Padang State University has 590 readings series, but this paper is only 10% percent are 59 collections of literary reading series.Based on the discussion can be concluded the stage of making annotated bibliography of literature reading series are as follows. First, the determination of children's literature reading series title. Second, the collection of library material by recording the bibliographic data such as the author's name, title of a series of literary readings, Impresum, as well as other information such as the number to call. Third, the selection of library materials be selected on the entire collection of literary reading series by splitting a series of readings alphabetically. Fourth, grouping or classification annotated bibliography of literature reading series are grouped by classification fundamentals that classify library materials based on the content or subject matter. Fifth, the keyword generation. Sixth, penyusanan index. Seventh, typing the manuscript biliografi contain elements such as writing an author's name, title of a series of readings, Impresum and other information required in making an annotated bibliography.Keyword: art, bibliography, reading.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the manufacture of bibliography annoted by Mohammad Hatta in the Library of  Proclamator Bung Hatta Bukittinggi. The method used is descriptive with engineering data collection through direct observation. Observation is done by collecting and recorded collections of libraries to the subject of Muhammad Hatta in the Library of Ploclamator Bung Hatta Bukittinggi. After the data obtained through, next to identify on the parts that will be made to bibliography annotated. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded in the manufacture of bibliography annotated at the Library of Proclamator Bung Hatta Bukittinggi is as follow. First, the determination of the title by look at (a) the availability of library collections to the subject of Mohammad Hatta, (b) using collection of Mohammad Hatta, and (c) the information in the collection are still well preserved. Second, the library with records of authors, the title, and impresum. Third, the selection of library which aims to cut between the title of bibliography with the library collected. The four, grouping or classification. The five, prepation the keyword. And than, typing a bibliography.Keyword: bibliography, Bung Hatta, library.

Abstract

This paper discussed about the attitude in serving the library manager disabilities in school library (SLB) Batusangkar City. This study aims to: (1) to describe services in serving the library manager disabilities in school library (SLB) Batusangkar City; (2) to describe the obstacles faced in serving the library manager disabilities in school library (SLB) Batusangkar City; (3) to describe what efforts were made to overcome the obstacles encountered in serving the library manager disabilities in the school library (SLB) Batusangkar City. Data was collected through observation/ interview and literature study. Interviews with library managers and principals School (SLB) Batusangkar City. Data analysis be done in descriptive. Based on analyzing the data, it was concluded the following matters. First, the service manager in the service user library disabilities such as; (1) visually impaired;  library managers to guide and give direction blind users according to the information he wants, (2) the Deaf; library management serving the deaf to communicate using sign language, manual communication, body language and lip. and, (3) quadriplegic, the library serves quadriplegic to help pick up a book or find the desired information. Second, the difficulties faced in serving the library manager disabilities in school library (SLB) Batusangkar City, namely: (1) the lack of facilities and infrastructure; (2) funds; (3) Human Resources (HR). And Third, the efforts of librarians in serving users, namely: (1) improve the infrastructure in the School library (SLB) Batusangkar City; (2) allocate 10% of funds available for building infrastructure in the School library (SLB) Batusangkar City; (3) adding a Human Resources (HR) educational background in library science. Keyword: disabilities, Batusangkar, school library.This paper discussed about the attitude in serving the library manager disabilities in school library (SLB) Batusangkar City. Abstract

This article aims to describe the utilization of the public reading for the society as a source og learning at public reading Tanah Ombak in Purus III Padang, described the obstacles faced by the public reading in the use of public reading as learning resources and describe the efforts made by public reading in the utilization of public reading as learning resources. The data collected through observation, interviews, and video recordings. Analysis of data by a descriptive. Based on the result of research it was concluded things are follows as. First, the utilization of public reading for the Tanah Ombak in the Purus of Padang, the availability of a collection, location, promotional, educational activities, cooperation, and the skill of librarian. Second, obstacles faced by public reading which was hard to get a varied collection of children’s book, the promotion of public reading only with the scope of a small lack of volunteers or the teachers, lack of officers. Third, the efforts made by the public reading in the utilization of public reading as a source of learning that is, buy books out of the area and take advantage of a network of bookstores or publishers, the public reading of building networks in the community, bringing volunteers or teachers, and have training of officers.Keyword: library, public reading, society.
