Abstract

Abstract Indigenous knowledge or traditional knowledge of the community regarding batagak penghulu in Nagari Lubuk Pandan, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. In the procession of matters relating to the following matters: first, minimal local knowledge or traditional knowledge of the community about the course in Nagari Lubuk Pandan, Padang Pariaman Regency. secondly, there are several steps in the repackaging of local wisdom information about: (1) after asking the user, it turns out that the community needs information about the adat procession of batagak pangulu; (2) collecting information in the study area by conducting interviews and also searching for information using several related books and journals, and storing it related to data storage, (3) packaging information, by making editable packaging products using the Canva application, and (4 ) transferring information, i.e. by way of making repackaging information in book form. Third, there are some challenges and efforts made in the making of information packaging, namely: the difficulty of finding informants, by seeking help from the community to find locations to find informants. Furthermore, the language of the informants is difficult to translate, so ask for help from the community to translate language that is not understood. The latest information about the adat procession of Batang Pangang, the efforts made to overcome this problem through the discussion of the culture of the local community.Keywords: Information, Indigenous Knowledge, Batagak Penghulu.

Abstract

AbstractThis paper discusses the Making of a Dance Studio Directory in the City of Padang. The purpose of this paper is (a) to describe the making of a directory of dance studios in the city of Padang; (B) describing the transition in creating a directory of dance studios in Padang City; (c) describe the business in making a directory of dance studios in the city of Padang. This research was conducted using descriptive methods by describing the subject or object based on visible facts. Data collected through observation, interviews, and literature study. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded, first, the steps in the process of making dance studios in the city of Padang are (a) data collection that collects all information relating to which is not in doubt to be made in the directory; (B) collect all data obtained; (c) Focus on a vision that has been created; (d) making books so that they are easier to produce and making books more directed; (e) determine the subject, the subject used in making the directory is the name of the street, location of each studio; (f) classification or grouping, grouping data that has been collected and adjusted to the subjects that have been determined; (g) directory design that is by making cover designs, and compiling information from directories. Second, the challenges involved in making a dance studio directory in Padang City are as follows: (a) when collecting data the writer had difficulty in finding the dance studio to be addressed. This is because there are some studios that do not have banners or name bars installed. Discusses some problems in finding the studio; (B) some studios that the author visits the owner often go to the studio or the owner is out of town because they have to accompany their students in the race; (c) difficulties in contacting the studio owner. Third, the non-related ones involved in making directories include; (a) the name of the studio; (b) the name of the owner; (c) year of establishment; (d) number of students; (e) hours of practice; (f) address; (g) telephone number; (h) location plan; and (i) studio photos.Keywords: Manufacture, Directory, Dance Studio

Abstract

Abstract The writing of this paper aims to describe and provide knowledge about the architecture of the typical rumah gadang minangkabau house to the community, especially the current millennial generation. The method used in this paper is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. A qualitative approach is to collect data directly by conducting observations, interviews and literature. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that there are 5 stages in the process of packaging information packages for the Minangkabau Typical Rumah Gadang  Architecture. The stages are, (1) identifying user needs. Identification is done to find out how much information needs are needed by users; (2) carry out the process of determining the topic of information to be discussed; (3) carry out information gathering conducted by observation, interviews and literature searches; (4) conduct data analysis and selection of information that has been obtained in accordance with the topic; (5) carry out the process of packaging information that presents covers, introductory words, table of contents, chapter sections and conclusions.Keywords: information packaging, rumah gadang architecture.

Abstract

AbstractThe writing of this paper aims to describe how to process tecnologi digital-based collections, to describe how to manage information technology-based technology services, describing what are the facilities and infrastructure of technology library-based management at the Padang 1 Public High School Library. Data was collected through observation and interviews with librarians and visitors at the Padang 1 Public High School Library. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. Based on the discussion described above, it can be concluded that First, digital-based collection processing is processing physical collections in the form of systematic collection of collections ranging from checking library materials to compiling books on a shelf, processing book collections into digital collections using SLiMS applications, processing physical data collection of digital-based books by transferring media collections of books to digital-based collections by using a scanner machine. Second, the management of technology-based information services, namely the creation of membership cards, on the membership card library has information about member identities, member names, identity numbers, addresses and telephone numbers of users, information search services, application of corner literacy services. Third, library-based infrastructure management tools, namely infrastructure literacy corner bookshelves provided by schools, the application of barcode scanners, library building infrastructure that is quite extensive as a forum for educational information services in libraries, television facilities as learning media for students in Padang 1 Public High School and internet-connected computer facilities.Keywords: management; processing; technology

Abstract

AbstractIn this paper the language about Millennial Generation Information Search Behavior To Meet Information Needs. This study aims to describe the information seeking behavior of the millennial generation to meet the information needs of this study at the Padang State University. Data were collected through observation and distribution of questionnaires with students of the Indonesian and Regional Languages and Literature Department at Padang State University. Analyzing the data, concluded the following matters. (1). Starting - consists of activities that initiate information seeking activities. In general (100%) determine the topic especially before conducting an information search, in general (90%) conduct information search after discussion or consultation with lecturers, in general (95.23%) know the information needs when attending lectures, (88.4 %) know the information needs specifically, and in general (88%) do information when they are aware of and know the need for information. (2). Chaining - activities following a series of citations, citations or forms of reconciliation between documents with each other. In general (92.8 uses a bibliography to search information, generally (90.4%) use the author's name from the core reference to look for other references in conducting information searches, and in general (92.9%) use subjects from core reference to look for other references (3) Browsing - merawak, looking for, but rather directed, in areas that are considered to have the potential for the information needed.In general (73%) libraries can always meet information needs, in general In general (95.2%) look for information on the internet if the information you are looking for is not found in the printed source of information, (92.8%) generally directly looking for information on the internet if the information you need is not found in the printed source of information, at generally (45.22%) query identification (keywords). (4). Differentiating - sorting, using the features in the information source as a basic reference for checking quality or information content. in general (88%) the internet is the main source of information, in general (92.84%) The source of information printed is still very much needed in fulfilling information needs. (5). Monitoring - monitoring progress by focusing on selected sources. In general (88.09%) looked for the latest information through the internet by searching for the latest articles, in general (78.56%) needed to find the latest information to enrich the reference sources. (6). Extracting - systematically digging in one source to retrieve information that is considered important. In general (90.47 when you need information you often search the search engine (google, yahoo), in general (88.09 often uses a journal database to get information, in general (78.56%) after getting information on the internet , you directly copy the information, in general (76.19%) use the "Google" search engine because it is more relevant than other search engines.Keywords: behavior, millennial generation and information.

Abstract

AbstractIn this paper we discuss Minangkabau traditional dances in the form of an encyclopedia prototype. The objectives of writing this paper are: (a) to describe the community's needs for information about Minangkabau traditional dances; (b) describes the process of making an encyclopedia of traditional Minangkabau dance prototypes; and (c) describe the constraints and efforts in making an encyclopedia prototype of Minangkabau traditional dance. This study uses a descriptive method with data collection techniques through direct observation and direct interviews with seven different professions, such as the community, students, students, tourists and owners of the Syofyani dance studio. Based on the analysis of the data it can be concluded as follows: First, the need for information about Minangkabau traditional dances is very minimal from the community, this can be seen from people who are not very interested in information about Minangkabau traditional dances because Minangkabau traditional dances are rarely performed and there are no information media which specifically discusses Minangkabau traditional dances. So that the Minangkabau traditional dance is shifted by outside dances such as dance and k-pop. Second, the making of an encyclopedia prototype of Minangkabau traditional dance through several stages, namely: (a) information needed about traditional Minangkabau dances; (b) data collection is done by interviewing techniques; (c) prototype product design encyclopedia of Minangkabau traditional dance using the Photoshop CS6 application; and (d) the resulting form is an encyclopedia prototype which contains information about the types of dance, dance philosophy, property used, music, clothing used in the dance, along with supporting images. Third, constraints and efforts in producing encyclopedias prototype products, namely: (a) resource persons who know about information about Minangkabau traditional dances are difficult to find and efforts to overcome them are done by making an appointment beforehand to the speakers; (b) data collection such as books on Minangkabau traditional dances is difficult to obtain and efforts to determine them are carried out by obtaining data from journals that discuss traditional dances.Keywords: Prototype, Encyclopedia, Minangkabau Indigenous Dance

Abstract

AbstractThis paper discusses the need for randai information and the process of making Randai Information Repackage for Students at SMAN 1 V Koto Timur. This study aims to determine the need for randai information and how to re-make randai information for students in SMA N 1 V Koto Timur. This study uses a descriptive method that is conducting direct interviews with a number of students at SMAN N 1 V Koto Timur, Padang Pariaman Regency. First, the need for randai information in SMAN 1 V Koto Timur, there are still some students who want to meet the general information needs both from other information such as reading materials in the library such as books and randai activities themselves. Secondly, there are several stages in making information back: (1) Identifying user needs by collecting and examining what will be contained in the information package; (2) Finding the needed sources, searching for information by collecting selected books and articles/ journals from the internet; (3) The collection of information that has been obtained from several books and articles/ journals from the internet is then stored in a computer file or flashdisk; (4) Packaging information by selecting data from various sources of books and articles/ internet journals and packaged in printed form; (5) Determine the form of information packaging to be made, namely printed; (6) Editing, checking deficiencies and forming packaging to make it more attractive and easily read by information users; (7) Printing of packaging is in the form of print publication. Third, in making information repackaging there are some obstacles. First, Constraints: (1) Data search and information gathering; (2) Lack of expertise in making packaging; (3) Determination of information to be contained in the package. Second, the efforts made: (1) Gathering as much data as possible from books, journals and other official articles; (2) Asking for help from experts to help the process of making packaging; (3) Finding information from several journals and book.Keywords: information, randai, and repackage

Abstract It can be concluded the steps in making the Computer Labor Manual of the Indonesian Language and Literature Department and the Regional Language and Arts Faculty of the State University of Padang, as follows; (a) collecting data and information, (b) compiling the writing framework, (c) making front cover (d), (d) making introductory words, (e) making a table of contents, (f) making the main contents of the book, elements the main content contained in the computer labor manual of the Indonesian and regional languages and literature is to make chapter I discuss the introduction of computer labor profiles, containing a glimpse of computer labor, labor computer organizational structure, computer laboratory space layout, chapter II discusses service computer labor contains about computer labor service hours, computer laboratory rules, chapter III discusses information retrieval, contains computer labor management, procedures for borrowing computer labor facilities, and what applications are available on computers in Indonesian and regional language and literature majors, chapters IV makes a closing containing conclusions.Keywords: Computer Labor, Laboratory, Guidebook

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine (1) the profile of the graduate, (2) the absorption of graduate in the world of work, (3) the use of knowledge gained by the graduate in the work, (4) the assessment of stakeholders on the ability of graduate. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Data collection uses research instruments. The population in this study was Graduate from the major of Information, Library, and Archives of Padang State University (PS IPK UNP). The sample in this study amounted to 105 graduates who returned the instrument. The results showed, First, the profile of Graduate PS IPK UNP was dominated by female graduates. Most of the graduates are graduates who graduated in 2018. Judging from the length of the study period, the average graduate has a length of the study period of 3 years. Second, the absorption of graduates in the workforce is quite high, with most graduates stating that they are currently working with the time needed to get the job <3 months. Third, the use of knowledge obtained by a graduate at the PS IPK UNP in employment is very high. The science that has a very high level of wear is fieldwork learning, technology mastery skills, and the ability to cooperate in teams. Fourth, the assessment of graduate users (stakeholders) on the ability to graduate in the work world has also been good. The ability of the graduate to be considered good by graduate users (stakeholders) is integrity, expertise based on the fields of science, mastery of information technology, and teamwork.Keywords: Information retrieval, graduate, tracer study

Abstract

AbstractThis paper discusses the Strategy of Librarians in the Use of Libraries by Students in Lubuk Alung 1 High School in Padang Pariaman Regency. The purpose of this paper is to describe the Strategy of Librarians in the Use of Libraries by Students in Lubuk Alung 1 High School in Padang Pariaman Regency. This research was conducted using descriptive methods through a qualitative approach. Data was collected through literature studies, observations and direct interviews with the Head of Library of SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman Regency. Based on the discussion in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that the Librarian's Strategy in Library Utilization by Students in Lubuk Alung 1 High School in Padang Pariaman Regency is as follows: (a) require students to become members of the library and borrow textbooks; (b) providing collections that are in accordance with the curriculum; (c) collaborating with other libraries in meeting collection needs; (d) do not apply penalties for returning late books; (e) make outdoor reading rooms; (f) creating a class library; (g) conducting tutoring activities; (h) provide virtual library services; (i) provide audiovisual services; (j) provide supporting services; and (k) organizing competitions and giving awards to students.Keywords: Strategies, Librarians, Library Utilization
