Abstract

The problem formulation in this research is how hedonism in novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa is. The purpose of this study were (1) describes the form of behavior of hedonism in the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa; (2) to describe the cause of hedonism behavior in the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa; and (3) describe the impac of hedonism behavior in novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. The data of this study are the story elements of the novel  Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. The data source for this study is the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. There are four stages to collecting data. First , read the novel  Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. Second, do library research. Third, look for and record data related to research problems. The result of this observation to express form of characterist behavior hedonism, the cause of hedonism and the impact of hedonism behavior. Keywords: hedonism, novel, popular literature

Abstract

This study aims to: (a) describe the episode of Ilana Tan's novel Winter In Tokyo; (b) describe the movie episode of Winter In Tokyo by director Fajar Bustomi; (c) describe the episode of Ilana Tan's novel Winter In Tokyonovel with Winter In Tokyo directed by Fajar Bustomi. This research type is qualitative research with descriptive method. This research data is the episode of novelty novel Winter In Tokyo by Ilana Tan and Winter In Tokyo film directed by Fajar Bustomi. Data collection techniques have three stages. First, read Ilana Tan's Winter In Tokyo novel, and then follow Winter In Tokyo directed by Fajar Bustomi. Second, the data collection phase of the novel episode of Winter In Tokyo by Ilana Tan and Winter In Tokyo film by director Fajar Bustomi were collected through recording and observation techniques. Third, the stage of inventorying data into data inventory format. The research findings are episodes of 24 novel episodes, while in the film there are 24 episodes. In the film there are 6 additional episodes, and a reduction of 14 episodes, while the episode of a novel story that changes varies after being turned into a movie, found 7 episodes. It happens because of the creativity of the director while adapting the novel to the movie.Keywords: novel, movie, ekranisasi, episode

Abstract

This study aimed to describe and analyze the form and use of sound in the Poetry Collection Book Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini by M. Aan Mansyur. To achieve these objectives the theory is used: (1) the nature of poetry, (2) theory of structuralism, (3) elements of poetry building, (4) sound elements in poetry, (5) alliteration and aconance, (6) cacophony and efoni, (7) anaphora and epiphora, and (8) the function of sound in poetry. Based on the analysis in the poetry collection, There is Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini, the work of M. Aan Mansyur, found 14 sounds of alliteration, 24 sounds of aconance, 17 sounds of cacophony, 23 sounds of ephony, 10 sounds of anaphora and 2 sounds of epiphora. There are 4 functions of the use of sound elements, namely: (1) expressive energy, (2) giving suggestions to the reader, (3) means of musicality, and (4) providing an atmosphere / special impression.Keyword: form, exploiting of sound, anthology poems, Tidak Ada New York Hari Ini, M. Abstract

This study aims to describe representations of: (1) personality pleasures, (2) recreational prestige, (3) mobility lifestyles, (4) instant culture in the Winter In Tokyo novel by Ilana Tan. The data of this study are the story elements of the Winter In Tokyo novel by Ilana Tan. The data source for this study is the Winter In Tokyo novel by Ilana Tan. There are four stages to collecting data. First, read the Winter In Tokyo novel by Ilana Tan. Second, do library research. Third, look for and record data related to research problems. Based on the results of the study concluded: (1) urban communities have personality pleasures, (2) urban communities have recreational prestige, (3) the level of mobility of urban communities is high, (4) urban communities have an instant lifestyle that is increasingly high.Keywords: urban societies, metropop novel, personality pleasures, mobility, recreational prestige, instant.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe of gender inequality to women in the novel Kenanga by Oka Rusmini. The type of this research was qualitative research by using analysis of descriptive method. The data of this research was novel Kenanga by Oka Rusmini. The technique of data collection was done through four stages: (1) read and understood the novel as a whole, (2) determined the character, (3) identified data related to the kinds of gender inequality, the factors of gender inequality, the impacts of gender inequality, and (4) inventorized of data based format inventory data. Based on results of study,it can be concluded that: (1) the types of gender inequality are marginalization, subordination, negative stereotype, violance and burden; (2) the factors of gender inequality are caste factor, patriarchy culture, culture, social and economy; (3) the impacts of gender inequality are psychology, the destroy of idealism and moral.Keywords: gender inequality, women, feminism

Abstract

 This study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency, and (2) the social function of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. The source of this research data is story about local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave in Munggu Tanah, Jorong Batu Palano, Nagari Salayo, District Kubung, Solok Regency. There are two stages to collect the data. First, doing interview with informant and record it. Then, transcribe the recordings. Second, collecting data about informant environment. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore of local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave told by informant with understoodable language, have ten character, the story’s background is in Nagari Salayo, and theme of the story is about Datuak Parpatiah’s body contested, and (2) social function of the local legend Datuak Parpatih Nan Sabatang’s grave are for entertain, education, cultural preservation, and group identity. Keywords: folklore, structure, social function, local legend

Abstract

This research aimed to: (a) present a description of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa script, (b) present the transliteration form from Arabic-Malay into Latin script of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa text, (c) present the translation from Malay-Minang into Indonesian language of Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa script. This research is a philology research. The object of his research is the text of theTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa. The method of this research is descriptive method and method of philology research which is adjusted with research stage. At the data collection stage, used field study method and literature study method and to library. The results of this research were (1) the complete description of the script, (2) the transcription ofTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempatext  from Arabic-Malay into Latin without changing the kind of language that can be read and understood by the present society(3) Tasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempa text had adapted into correct Indonesian Spelling (EBI). Some of Malay’s vocabularies and Minangkabau language’s vocabularies found inTasawuf dan Ta’bir Gempascript were maintained to preserve the purity of the old vocabulary.Keywords: philology, text, transliteration, translation

Abstract

Transliteration and translation of  syair bimbingan rohani text on the first chapter compiled by H. Mansyuruddin Tuanku Bagindo ". Essay. Indonesian Literature Study Program, Indonesian and Regional Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Language and Art, Padang State University.This study aims to: (a) present a description of the manuscript of syair bimbingan rohani, (b) present the form of transliteration from the Malay Arabic script to the Latin script of the Syair bimbingan rohani text, (c) present the form of translation from Malay-Minang to Indonesian syair bimbingan rohani text.This research is philology. The object of the research is the text of the Syair bimbingan rohani. The method used in this study is adjusted to the stages of research. In the data collection stage, that used field study methods. In the data processing stage, that used the descriptive. At the stage of transliteration used the transliteration method, and the translation used the translation method.The results of this study are (a) describing the text of the Syair bimbingan rohani, (b) the presentation of the script from the text of the Syair bimbingan rohani which can be read and understood by the society, (c) the presentation of the text of the Syair bimbingan rohani adapted to the Spelling of the Language Indonesia (EBI). This text reflects about how to educate the heart and soul to understanding that is  called Happy Life According to Islam, blessed by Allah, that starts from nurturing the tongue, leading the physical realm, guarding the eyes, keeping the ears, guarding the feet, how to keep an eye on the spiritual realm or the heart, and both parts, the second is  upbringing, the friend's question to the prophet, and the third part is upbringing. so, In the text of the Syair bimbingan rohani is found in the old Malay language and some Minangkabau language vocabulary which is maintained to protect  the purity of the old vocabulary.Keywords: Philology, scripture, transliteration, translation

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the form of compliance and violations of the politeness in the utterances of Waktu Indonesia Timur host on NET TV. The type of this research is qualitative research by using analysis of descriptive method.The sources of this research is the utterances of Waktu Indonesia Timurhost. The findings of this study are (1) compliance with the principle of politeness in the utterances of the host in “Waktu Indonesia Timur” was found as many as 321 data consisting of compliance oftact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim; and (2) violations of the politeness principle of language in the utterances of the host in “Waktu Indonesia Timur” were found in 224 data consisting of violations of tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. Keywords: politeness,joke, Waktu Indonesia Timur

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the performance of communication effectiveness in terms of the use of the principle of cooperation in verbal communication by legislative officials and city level party leaders in West Sumatra. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data of this study are utterances used by legislative officials and city level party leaders in West Sumatra. Data is collected in the following way, (1) downloading video recordings in the form of speeches or interviews from legislative officials and city-level party leaders in West Sumatra from Youtube social media, (2) transcribing video recordings of city-level legislative and party leaders in West Sumatra, (3) observing and analyzing all utterances which are included in language performance and communication politeness, (4) giving code to data which is included in language performance and communication politeness. After all the data is collected, the data is then analyzed by the following steps, (1) identifying data in the form of videos containing interviews and speeches, (2) data then entered into the performance format using the principle of cooperation, (3) data grouped and inserted into part of the principle of cooperation, (4) matching data and giving opinions on data on the principle of cooperation, (5) concluding data included in the principle of cooperation. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that Indonesian Language Performance in Terms of Use of the Principles of Cooperation in Oral Communication by Legislative Officials and Party Leaders The City level in West Sumatra is dominated by the conformity of the cooperative principle of 73%.Keywords: communication, politeness, legislative officials, Youtube
