Abstract

The Minangkabau community has long been known for its oral tradition. Through this, advice, manners and social values are integrated from generation to generation. One variety of this tradition is the expression of prohibitions. This study aimed to describe the structure of people’s belief in prohibition expressions about the human body and medicines in Kanagarian Pasir Baru; the social function of oral tradition in the form of prohibition expressions about the human body and medicines in Kanagarian Pasir Baru. This type of research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Data in this study were obtained from interviews with the native speakers. The steps of data collection can be categorized as follows: data inventory, preliminary analysis, recording, transliteration, interviews and reporting.  The results of the analysis indicate the structure of prohibition expressions about the human body and medicines in Kanagarian Pasir Baru was divided into two forms, namely two parts and three parts. Moreover, the social function of people's belief in prohibition expressions about the human body and medicines such as a) the belief enhancement function, b) the imaginary projection system, c) the educational function, d) the inhibit function, and e) the entertainment function.

Abstract

This research aimed to: (a) present a description of Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa script, (b) present the transliteration form Arabic-Malay into Latin script of Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa text, (c) present the translation from Malay-Minang into Indonesian language of Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa script. This research is included in the type of philological research. The object of his research is the text of theTakbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa. The method of this research is method of philology research which is adjusted with research stage and descriptive method. At the stage of data collection used the method of literature or observation, at the stage of the description of the manuscript used a descriptive method, the stage of transliteration used the method of transliteration or the method of transliteration, then the stage of language transfer used the method of language transfer. The results of this research were (1) the complete description of the script, (2) the transcription of Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa text from Arabic-Malay into Latin without changing the kind of language that can be read and understood by the present society(3) Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa text had adapted into correct Indonesian Spelling (EBI). Some of Malay’s vocabularies and Minangkabau language’s vocabularies found in Takbir Mimpi dan Takbir Gempa script were maintained to preserve the purity of the old vocabulary.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the frequent finding of various errors in Indonesian in online news writing. The most obvious mistakes are at the syntactic level. Therefore, this study aims to describe and explain the form of language errors in the syntax field contained in the Kompasiana online news portal in the text entitled Mencari Etika Elite Politik di saat Covid-19. This research applies qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. To obtain data, the observation technique was chosen as the data collection method. This is done through observing the use of language and note-taking techniques to record the structures being analyzed. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using distributional methods. The results of the research regarding the analysis of language errors in the syntactic field contained in the article include non-standard structured sentence errors, coherence, loanwords used in sentences, unity and logic of sentences, sentence effectiveness. This finding further strengthens the paradigm that online news text writing often ignores Indonesian syntactic principles.

Abstract

The image of prostituted women always gets a negative stigma in society. Therefore, various studies are needed to understand the ins and outs and portraits of prostitutes in various literatures. This study aims to describe the representation of female prostitutes in Maman Suherman's Re:. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that indicate the representation of female prostitutes in the novel. The data source in this study is the novel Re: by Maman Suherman, published by Prima Grafika in Jakarta in 2014 which consists of 161 pages, which is the first printing. The findings in this study indicate that the representation of female prostitutes in Maman Suherman's novel Re: by Maman Suherman has several parts, (1) categories of female prostitutes, (2) types of representation of female prostitutes, (3) the background or motive for the representation of female prostitutes, and (4) due to representation of female prostitutes.
