Abstract

Background: Health worker performance is a key element in the success of primary healthcare services at Puskesmas. A strong organizational culture and effective internal supervision are believed to enhance motivation, productivity, and service quality among health workers. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational culture and internal supervision on the performance of health workers at Bandar Khalifah Health Center, Percut Sei Tuan District. Methods: This research employed an analytical quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all active health workers (n=58), selected through total sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman correlation and multiple logistic regression. Results: Findings indicated that organizational culture and internal supervision simultaneously had a significant influence on health worker performance (p<0.05), explaining 63.7% of performance variation. Organizational culture showed a greater effect (Exp(B)=5.66) compared to internal supervision (Exp(B)=3.64). Conclusion: Positive organizational culture and structured internal supervision significantly improve health worker performance. It is recommended that management enhance teamwork values, provide leadership training, and ensure consistent, participative supervision practices.

Abstract

Background: High-quality medical records play a crucial role in modern healthcare services as they serve as the primary foundation for medical decision-making and contribute significantly to patient safety and service satisfaction. The success of medical record management is highly dependent on the implementation of effective quality control, which not only includes the accuracy and completeness of data but also ensures that the data is securely managed and easily accessible to healthcare providers. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of quality control in medical record services and patient satisfaction at RS Grandmed Lubuk Pakam. Research Methods: This study employs a quantitative descriptive correlational approach. The sample consists of medical record staff and patients, selected through total sampling and purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. Results: The analysis indicates a significant positive relationship between the implementation of quality control and patient satisfaction, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.652 and a p-value of < 0.05. The regression analysis shows that quality control contributes 42.6% to the variation in patient satisfaction. Conclusion: The better the implementation of quality control in medical record services, the higher the patient satisfaction perceived. Therefore, hospitals need to continue enhancing quality control implementation through staff training, optimization of information technology, and strengthening data protection systems to improve service quality and patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Background: Medical records are crucial documents in the healthcare system, as they contain all information related to a patient’s health, which can influence medical decision-making and support the quality of care and patient safety. Proper and standardized medical record documentation will facilitate the flow of services and minimize medical errors. Therefore, healthcare workers' compliance with medical record documentation standards is essential to enhance service efficiency in hospitals. Objective: This study aims to analyze the impact of healthcare workers' compliance with medical record documentation standards based on Minister of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 on service efficiency at RS Grandmed Lubuk Pakam. Methods: This research uses a quantitative descriptive correlational approach with purposive sampling technique involving 50 respondents, consisting of healthcare workers involved in medical record documentation. Data was collected using closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression to determine the impact of compliance on service efficiency. Results: The findings show a strong positive relationship between medical record documentation compliance and service efficiency (r = 0.684; p = 0.000), with compliance contributing 46.8% to the improvement of service efficiency. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between healthcare workers' compliance with medical record documentation standards and service efficiency at RS Grandmed Lubuk Pakam. Compliance with medical record documentation contributes 46.8% to the improvement of service efficiency. Therefore, it is recommended that the hospital enhance training for healthcare workers, conduct regular supervision, and implement an electronic medical record system to support the improvement of service quality and efficiency in the hospital's service flow. Therefore, it is recommended that the hospital increase training, routine supervision, and the implementation of an electronic medical record system to further enhance the quality of care and service efficiency.

Abstract

Background: The availability of essential medicines is a critical factor influencing the quality of pharmaceutical services and greatly affects patient satisfaction. A lack of essential medicines can worsen patient conditions and reduce trust in hospital services. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the availability of essential medicines and outpatient satisfaction at the Pharmaceutical Installation of Grandmed Hospital Lubuk Pakam. Research Methods: A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design was used. A total of 150 outpatients were randomly selected. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation tests to assess the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. Results: The findings revealed a strong and statistically significant positive relationship between the availability of essential medicines and patient satisfaction, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.76 and a p-value of 0.0001. Patients who received the required medicines reported higher satisfaction levels than those who did not. Conclusion: The higher the availability of essential medicines in the pharmaceutical installation, the greater the patient satisfaction with pharmaceutical services. Hospital management is encouraged to strengthen the procurement and distribution system, improve inventory management, and enhance communication with patients to sustain and improve satisfaction levels.

Abstract

Background: Hospitals generate hazardous chemical waste (B3) that may harm human health and the environment if improperly managed. Objective: This study aims to analyze the waste management system and risk associated with B3 waste at RSU Sembiring Delitua. Research Methods: A descriptive analytic study using a mixed-methods approach was conducted. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, KAP questionnaires (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice), and document analysis. Risk assessment was performed using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) method. Results: While the waste management system covers basic procedures, weaknesses were identified in waste segregation, inadequate storage facilities, and insufficient personal protective equipment use. The highest risk was found in the storage process (risk score 12, very high category). Conclusion: Gaps remain between knowledge, attitudes, and practices in chemical waste management. Continuous training, improved facilities, and a strengthened safety culture based on risk management are necessary to enhance hazardous waste management systems in hospitals.
