Abstract

The combination of biological fertilizers and chemical fertilizers can support the concept of sustainable integrated farming and minimize the adverse impacts of chemical fertilizers. Azotobacter sp. is a soil microbe that used as a biological fertilizer because it can fix N and produce phytohormones which are crucial for plant growth. This research aims to study the growth of peanut plants after Azotobacter chroococcum and NPK fertilizer application. This research was conducted on July-November 2016 in field trials of PT. Pupuk Kujang, Cikampek, West Java with a height of 25 m above sea level. The experiments were performed using a randomized block design with three treatments, 2 L / ha Azotobacter chroococcum, 300 kg / ha of NPK and 2 L / ha Azotobacter chroococcum + 150 kg / ha of NPK with four replications. The results showed treatment with a dose of 2 L / ha Azotobacter chroococcum + 150 kg / ha of NPK fertilizer can increase the growth of plant height and root dry weight, whereas treatment with a dose of 300 kg / ha of NPK most improve plant shoot dry weight. Keywords: Azotobacter chroococcum, NPK, Plant Growth.

Abstract

Inceptisol is a young and newly developed soil so it needs to be optimized for crop cultivation. The aim of this research is to know the availability of soil P, P uptake and corn yield after application of granular composting of sago waste (KGES) together with phosphate fertilizer to Inceptisols soil. The experimental treatment was KGES which consisted of three levels: without KGES, 40 tons KGES ha-1, and 80 tons KGES ha-1, and the use of SP-36 (P) fertilizer consisting of three levels: without P fertilizer, 120 kg P ha-1, and 240 kg P ha-1. The experiment used a complete randomized design with 3 replications. The result of the experiment was analyzed variance and relationship test using interlaced analysis. The results showed that KGES together with phosphate fertilizers could increase soil pH causing phosphate to be available and plant roots could absorb nutrient phosphate well, so that the yield of corn kiln dry weight also increased. The highest yield of dry weight of grains (7.85 tons per ha) was obtained from a combination of 80 tons of KGES ha-1 and 240 kg P ha-1.Keyword: Keywords: Ella Sago, Inseptisols, maize, phosphate

Abstract

Physiological quality of seeds could be seen from viability and vigor. The used of matriconditioning treatment using biological agent and bokashi fertilizer could be the way to enhance physiological quality of seeds. The objective of experiment was to determind the most effective dosage interaction of biological agent and bokashi fertilizer to improve physiological quality of seeds. This research was held at Ciparanje Experimental Farm and Laboratory of Seed Technology Faculty Agriculture Universitas Padjadjaran.from November 2016 until February 2017.  The experiment’s method design using randomized block design factorial pattern with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5 %. The Cultivar that used for this research was Grobogan with Bokashi that tested at 0 ton/ha, 16 ton/ha, 32 ton/ha, and 48 ton/ha respectively combined with matriconditioning that used biological agent and control without biological agent. The biological agent that used for this treatment were Trichoderma spp., Azotobacter spp., Trichoderma spp + Azotobacter spp., with three replication.  The result of the experiment showed that interaction of biological agent and bokashi fertilizer affected the weight of 100 seeds and vigor index. The treatment that used Trichoderma spp. + Azotobacter spp. and bokashi fertilizer 48 ton/ha has showed that this dosage was the best for weight of 100 seeds parameter. Thus the treatment with trichoderma and azotobacter without bokashi fertilizer showed that this treatment affected the best for vigor index.Keyword: Soybean seeds, physiological quality, Trichoderma spp., Azotobacter spp., Bokashi.

Abstract

Land use planning requires a proper consideration, so that the function of land can take place continuously and sustainably. The objectives of the research were to establish the land capability class of Wai Batu Merah watershed its land use management in accordance with each land capability class. The research method was survey with synthetic and analytical approaches, and  flexible observation distance following physiographic change, soil type and land use within landunits. The results of the study showed that Wai Batu Merah watershed has 6 class and 12 sub-class land capability of II.B,KE3,e1, III.e2,  III.C, IV.b2, IV.D,b2, IV.D, VI.e4, VI.E, VII.e5, VII.F,e5, VII.F, and VIII.t5 with limiting factors of  slope steepness, erosion sensitivity, percentage of gravel and rock, and soil texture. Land use management planning  in the Wai Batu Merah watershed includes intensive, medium, and limited agriculture, intermediate and limited grazing, agroforestry, protection forest, forest, home garden, biopores and organic materials. Keywords: Land Capability Class, Wai Batu Merah Watershed
