This study was carried out at Malang Smart Brawijaya High School with a sample size of 12 students equally divided into the experimental (n = 6) and control (n = 6) groups. Furthermore, the experimental group was trained on Problem Solving Strategies, contrary to the control group. Data were analyzed using Mann Whitney U Test, which is a non-parametric statistical analysis tool. The result showed that the Asymp or P-value of 0.003 <0.05, therefore, there is a significant difference between the post-test scores in the experimental and control groups. In conclusion, the Problem-Solving Strategy is an effective technique for enhancing the ability of anger regulation.  School counselors are encouraged to utilize Problem Solving Strategies as intervention techniques to enhance anger regulation. Further research needs to be carried out using behavioralistic techniques.

Abstract

This study surveyed counsellor’s opinion on the efficacy of religious integrated counselling in fostering hospitality and religious harmony in Nigeria. The sample for the study was 120, Counselling for Hospitality and Religious Harmony Questionnaire (CHRHQ) was used for data collection Content Validity Index of CHRHQ was 0.85 and 0.87 reliability. Majority agreed that integrated religious counselling could foster hospitality and encourage religious harmony through competent and appropriate use of different skills and techniques. Also, majority had integrated religion into counselling. No sex difference was found on counsellors’ perception of ways to foster hospitality and religious harmony through counselling, but sex difference exists in the integration of religion into counselling. It was therefore recommended that learning about different religions should become part of counsellors’ training; every mainstream counsellor must take a course in the two major religions – Christianity and Islam, and massive enlightenment programmes through the media are required.

Abstract

This research examines the Konseling Intensif dan Progresif yang Adaptif terhadap Struktur counseling model (KIPAS) based on Indonesia's archipelago. In English, this means Intensive and Progressive Counseling Adaptive to Structure. The model constitutes good news (Kabar gembira), data integration and Internalization (Integrasi dan internalisasi data), action planning (Perencanaan tindakan), plan actualization (Aktualisasi rencana), and celebration or certification (Selebrasi/Sertifikasi). Together, these steps form an acronym of KIPAS, a counseling model whose steps should be tested empirically to describe the users’ expectations or ratings. Data were collected using a satisfaction scale and analyzed in a descriptive percentage. The results show that the KIPAS steps are applicable, with user ratings ranging from very feasible to quite feasible.
