Abstract

This research aims (1) to describe the background of naturalist’s painting Kamal Guci which tend to visualize the object Rumah Gadang, (2) to describe the symbolic meaning of Kamal Guci’s painting which tend to visualize the object of Rumah Gadang, (3) to know the process of creating Kamal Guci’s painting which tend to visualize the object of Rumah Gadang. This research is using the qualitative methods with descriptive approach through snowball technique. The data sources of the research are paintings, written notes (recordings and photos) as the primary source, and the review of literature as secondary source. The procedure of collecting the data is conducted by doing observation, interview, and documentation. The research finding, that is, the background of Kamal Guci’s painting that tend to visualize the object of Rumah Gadang which is affected by anxiety and restlessness feeling to the culture and environment of Minangkabau. Generally, the meaning of Rumah Gadang on a painting is that to describe the changed that happens in Minangkabau as being identity of Minangkabau itself. The process of producing is exploration, improvisation, forming, and finishing.Kata kunci : Background of naturalist’s painting, symbolic meaning, process of creating.

Abstract

The purpose of the creation of this thesis to visualize the activity of coffee pickers in contemporary realist painting. The ten works are completed to the fullest have represented the themes raised. The ten works are: 1) Departing, 2) Chain Ban, 3) Grazing and gleaning, 4) Waiting Red, 5) Still Bit, 6) Too Heavy, 7) Exchange of Information, 8) Drying Coffee, 9) Green and red, 10) Wet milling. Tenth these works provide an overview of the process of the activities of the coffee pickers who have worked so hard for the sake of taking daily wages earned but not in accordance with the minimum wage should be.Keywords: coffee pickers activity, realist painting, contemporary.

Abstract

This research has a purpose to describe 1) form; 2) function; 3) significance of woven screw pine lapiak woven motif, in order to be known by people both local and outside community. The theory which is used are culture, custom, significance, woven, the elements and principle of art. The source that is taken by the researcher such as: note (recordings, picture) which is gotten from, the informant by doing the interview, documentation, literature study. Motif woven screw pine lapiak comes from flora, fauna, and geometrical, the function of consist of physical, personal and social, in general the meaning of woven screw pine lapiak describes the philosophy of Minangkabau, “Alam Takambang Jadi Guru.”Kata kunci: Motif, Bentuk, Fungsi, Makna

Abstract

The purpose of this last work is visualize women of Minangkabau in the work of decorative art, to reach comprehension about women of Minangkabau position that have and should be a example. Realization of decorative art is dominate of elementshape and colour like a simplify shape objeck with distortion by acrilyk at canvas on decorative design. This metode and step in process of making work began from preparations, elaboration, synthetic, realization consep until present to publick with exhibition. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to reveal the form, the functions and the meaning on Perjuangan Monument build as historical buildings. The monuments could be used as the source of learning and enrich the knowledge of the current and the next generation to thr memorize what had been done by Indonesian heroes to get and maintain Indonesian Independence implied in Perjuangan Monument. This was a qualitative research which used descriptive analysis approach. The data were collected through observation, interview, stationary and camera. The result of the research indicated that the perjuangan Monument in Matur Kabupaten Agam was build to memorize the struggle of Matur people to get and maintain Indonesian Independence. Behind its building, the monument has a heroic story. The feet, body, and the top of the monument had forms, functions and meaning.Key terms: form, function, meaning, monument, history

Abstract

The work of the end of aims to visualization on the phenomena modernization pattern behavior in the painting of art realists contemporary, idea the creation of work painting of art through the phenomenon of the incident what is seen, felt and observed environment social, culture in the community. The impact of and a change that occurs in community social environment run in significant, so that can be perceived now, good positively and the impact a negative. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the motive’s shape, placement, meaning, and function of Serawai woven cloth. The method used is qualitative one with the descriptive approach. The results shows that the shape of weaving motifs composed of vertical stripes, horizontal, curved, zigzag, and flat plane. The forms are derived from the shape of the flora, fauna, nature, and geometric. The placement motifs on Serawai woven cloth namely: 1) The head cloth, 2) Edge of cloth, 3) Bottom cloth, and 4) Field of cloth. The meaning of Serawai decorative woven cloth is symbolic, natural evironment, means of livelihood, and customs and the ideals of life of local residents. It’s function is divided into a social function, culture, and life functions.Keywords: Form, Placement, Meaning and Function of Woven Fabrics Serawai Bengkulu City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the development of shape, motif, and function of songket’s product in Melayu Pekanbaru Riau. The method of this reseach is qualitative with descriptive approach. The result shows that the product of traditional Malay’s songket expand from clothes only to other house wear. The forms of the product are derived from the pattern of flora (55 motifs), fauna (14 motifs), and nature (11 motifs). The physical function of songket’s product in Melayu Pekanbaru Riau develops in terms of function from life function which develop to various types of Malay songket’s product.Keywords: Product’s shape, Motif, Function, Songket’s product in Melayu Pekanbaru Riau

Abstract

The research is intendend to describe the differences of learning outcomesof students who are taught by using demonstration learning methods than those who are taught by using conventional in class XI SMA N 15 Padang. The data are taken from eleven grade student’s score. Data were analyzed by using a quasiexperimental research methodsthe technique of sampling of this research is purposive sampling. Results of experimental studies using the method of demonstration classes have an average higher than the control class using conventional methods. Based on t-test calculations obtained t = 5434 and table = 2,037 on the level of alpha = 0.05. it Show that are significant differences between the two classes in the second semester of the academic year 2014/2015.Kata Kunci: Metode Demonstrasi, Hasil Belajar, Seni Rupa

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to (1) identify the term Batik Tanah Liek, (2) describe the forms of motives, and (3) describe the technique and process of making Batik Tanah Liek Citra Mandiri Kecamatan Sitiung. This was a qualitative research which applied descriptive approach. The source of the research was the product of Batik Tanah Liek (primary data) and library study (secondary data). The data were collected through observation, interview and documentation. The research findings revealed that the term Batik Tanah Liek was derived from the color of batik cloth which was the color of tanah liek (clay). The motives of Batik Tanah Liek Citra Mandiri Sitiung were in the form of geometric and were adopted from flora and fauna. Batik was made by using batik tulis technique. Batik was made in three phases covering preparation, pembatikan, and finishing.Kata Kunci : The term Batik Tanah Liek, forms of motives, technique and process
