Abstract

The present work discusses the technique and methodology of analysing the potential of fast data acquisition of aerial images using unmanned aerial vehicle system. This study utilizes UAV system for large scale mapping by using digital camera attached to the UAV. UAV is developed from the low-altitude photogrammetric mapping to perform the accuracy of the aerial photography and the resolution of the image. The Ground Control Points (GCPs) and Check Points (CPs) are established using Rapid Static techniques through GPS observation for registration purpose in photogrammetric process. The GCPs is used in the photogrammetric processes to produce photogrammetric output while the CP is employed for accuracy assessment. A Pentax Optio W90 consumer digital camera is also used in image acquisition of the aerial photograph. Besides, this study also involves image processing and map production using Erdas Imagine 8.6 software. The accuracy of the orthophoto is determined using the equation of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The final result from orthophoto is compared to the ground survey using total station to show the different accuracy of DEM and planimetric survey. It is discovered that root mean square errors obtained from UAV system are ± 0.510, ± 0.564 and ± 0.622 for coordinate x, y and z respectively. Hence, it can be concluded that the accuracy obtained from UAV system is achieved in sub meter. In a nutshell, UAV system has potential use for large scale mapping in field of surveying and other diversified environmental applications especially for small area which has limited time and less man power.

Abstract

A sales transaction dataof a retail company which is collect edevery day is enormous. Very large data will bemore meaning fultoin crease the company’s profitsif itcanbe extracted properly. Based on the research resultsof Andhika, et al[1], ZhangandRuan[6], Herera et al [7], Witten [11], explained that one of the methods that can gather information from the transaction data is the method of association. With this method it can be determined the patterns of transactions performed simultaneously and repeatedly. Thus, it can be obtained amodel that can be used as a reference for cross selling sales strategy. The purpose of this research is to apply data mining association methods of data mining by using apriori algorithm to create a new sales strategy for cross selling. Based on calculations, Association Rule is implemented by applying Confidence value=0.8while the value of Support=0.1 of the defined minimum value, the total result are 77 rules. Keywords: Data Mining, Association, Apriori Algorithm, Cross Selling, Retail Stores

Abstract

Conventionally, information quality or IQ used in most researches and also in practice as dimensions of characteristics which inherent in valuable information. IQ is characteristic measures based on information production processes. As a result, it may not be a valuable for its users and even for enterprise value. Our approach is to define a new information characteristic based on process of information consumption or usage, called IU as complement to IQ. The characteristics in IU consists of two dimensions ie: (i) conformity on repackaging and (ii) originality on exchange information for users. Parameters for this dimensions acquired using features extraction from IU process in each layer of enterprise management. The paper also describes how to apply the new characteristics practically to provide a higher information values for enterprise.

Abstract

The metrology technology has been evolved so much with the wireless sensor intelligent systems providing more capabilities in term of processing, remote multi-sensing fusion and storage. This kind of systems can be used in many types of environments. The monitoring is one of the most used.  However, various design challenges for wireless intelligent sensors systems are imposed to overcome the physical limitations. Communication in sensor network should be as efficient as possible, especially for applications requiring specific performances. This paper analyzes the performance indicators of the sensing devices systems which stand for superior measurement, more accuracy and reliability. Study findings prescribe researchers, developers/ engineers and users to realizing an enhanced sensing motes design strategy that offers operational advantages which can give cost-effective solutions for an application.

Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of sensor nodes which are deployed in the environment densely and randomly. The main constraint of these nodes is limited energy resources, so, the operations which are performed in the network, must be energy efficient. For this reason, routing and data transmission in these networks perform hierarchically and in multi hop manner. One of these hierarchical architectures which have a considerable positive effect on energy consumption is clustering algorithm. But what is important is that the cluster heads election should be done efficiently. Recently some works have focused on optimal cluster head election using Integer Linear Programming techniques. In this paper, Integer Linear Programming techniques are used to formulate the clustering problem.  At first, by using Integer Linear Programming techniques, a scalable and multi objective model for optimal cluster head selection is presented and then the distributed clustering algorithm is proposed. As shown in simulation results, the proposed clustering algorithm is more efficient in terms of energy vs. LEACH algorithm.

Abstract

Providing patients with convenient health facilities at a low cost has always been a great challenge for health service providers. Moreover, the fast changing life style of the modern world and the problem of aging society pose an urgent need to modernize such facilities. The emphasis has to be paid on  providing  health  monitoring in out-of-hospital conditions for elderly people and patients who require regular supervision, particularly in remote areas. This paper presents a recommendation algorithm, which incorporates collaboration and classification techniques in order to generate recommendations and suggestions for the physical activities that the users should carry out in order to improve their health. The algorithm has been evaluated using generic data and considering the daily food intake. The results of the experimental evaluation show that the algorithm is robust and could suggest the physical activities that might compensate the influence of the food intake over the blood glucose level.

Abstract

Cooperative Education (CO-OP) is a program that aims to sharpen its participants’ entrepreneurship action and spirit. In order to select the students to participate in this program, STMIK STIKOM of Surabaya uses EPPS psychological test which can measure the achievement, deference, autonomy, affiliation, nurturance, and endurance of CO-OP participant. The used of EPPS psychological test is based on the reason that this test is one of the personality tests prepared to measure the power of someone’s need. By the existence of EPS application in selecting CO-OP participant, a proper result’s validity is expected to be reached.

Abstract

This paper presents an investigation on an optical sensor configuration to estimate the turbidity level in a sample of water based on tomography technique. The optical sensors consist of infrared light - emitting diodes (LED) as transmitters and photodiodes as the receivers where the projections of the sensors are designed in fan beam mode. The promising results obtained from the analysis of light path detection demonstrated the accuracy of the proposed technique in estimating the turbidity level of water. The approach has potential to contribute and utilize for monitoring the quality level of water in water treatment industries.
