Abstract

This research aims development of the 4E FTE simulator trainer and peripheral equipment which is integrated with the problem based learning model from validated 4D Models trainer simulators: (1) pedagogical aspects; (2) conceptual aspects and; (3) conceptual aspects. Developed trainer simulator is able to improve cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of learning outcomes. Questionnaire and student achievement test were used as research instruments. Data analysis was performed to determine the level of validity, practicality and student learning outcomes which include learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. This research found some evidence (1) There was no significant difference in cognitive domain learning outcomes using the 4E FTE engine simulator trainer which was compared to learning outcomes using the engine stand with a mean value of 82.36 and for the engine stand class with a cognitive mean value of 80.55; (2) Based on affective domain learning outcomes for students who use the 4E FTE engine simulator trainer perspective, there were significant differences compared to students who learn using the engine stand, with an affective domain mean value of 85.64, mean engine stand of affective value 84.62, and; (3) There was no significant difference between the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model using the 4E FTE engine trainer simulator with the engine stand on psychomotor student learning outcomes. The mean value of the psychomotor domain was 79.39 while the mean value of the psychomotor was 78.64.

Abstract

The study was aimed to find out if there is a significant difference between the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Banda Aceh who are taught vocabulary by using wall chart and those who are taught without using wall chart. The experiment was from conducted from from March 5th, 2018 to May 8th, 2018.  2018 at SMP Negeri 4 Banda Aceh. This study is conducted by using quantitative research and in this case is an experimental study. The total population is 115 students who are composed of five classes; class VIII1, class VIII2, class VIII3, class VIII4, and class VIII5. While the sample of this study  is taken from two classes of the five classes. One class is as an experimental group and one another is as control group. In this study, the students of class VIII5   are taken as experimental group and the students of class VIII4  are taken as control group. Every group consists of 30 students thus the total sample is 60. Choosing class as experimental and control group is done randomly. The data were gotten through test; pre-test and post test. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 18.0. The result of the study shows that there is a significant difference between the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Banda Aceh who are taught vocabulary by using wall chart and those who are taught without using wall chart. It can be proven from the result of this study where the result of t-test of post-test of the both group is 3.028. While the result of  t-table with the level of significance 0,05 is 0,668. Thus, t-test (3.028) is greater than the t-table (0,668). Based on the result of the study, English teachers of SMP Negeri 4 Banda Aceh especially those who teach vocabulary should implement Wall Charts in teaching and learning process because the implementation of the media can increase the students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

The Utilization of sludge oil palm processing plant is still not optimal, therefore it is necessary to study the use of sludge as an alternative supply of nutrients in the soil that is used as an additional planting medium. This research contributes to environmental knowledge courses according to the syllabus and RPS and the output products of this study are learning modules. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of palm oil dry mud waste to the growth rate of mustard plants (Brassica rapa) on the study of Environmental Knowledge, and to compile the module as the development of teaching materials from the Environmental Knowledge course module. This study used a completely randomized design with six treatments and four replications. The results of this study can be concluded that the administration of sludge is very influential in increasing nutrient and growth of mustard plants, namely: plant height (cm), leaf surface area (cm2), number of leaf strands, and stem length (cm).

Abstract

The study's purpose was to investigate the effectiveness of Learning Strategy of Thinking Ability Improvement (SPPKB) application used to improve Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of social study (IPS) students in economics learning. The research method used a quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design and effectiveness data analysis using a t-test. The research populations were 1-eleventh grade social study class (XI IPS 1) having 25 students as the experimental class and 2-eleventh grade social study (XI IPS 2) class having 27 students as the control class. The different treatment between the two classes was that in the experimental class applied the SPPKB model while the control class employed the conventional learning model. The study results reveal that the use of SPPKB has never been implemented in economics learning in the classroom. The effectiveness of using the SPPKB shows the values of the t-test results for Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) abilities with significance values of 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate that there is a significant influence on the SPPKB implementation to enhance students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in economics learning.
