Abstract

The appearance of some new kingdoms in Indonesia seized the public’s attention. The media then covered and published the issue to the readers. Some perspectives used in gaining and reporting the news. One of their focuses is on how to represent any social actors involved. This paper will discuss what techniques used by the writer in representing any social actors in two news articles deal with Keraton Agung Sejagat released by Kompas.com. The aim is to give a description what techniques used and its implication to the news as a whole. Critical Discourse Analysis will be the domain of the paper, meanwhile van Leeuwen’s view of social actors will be the core. This qualitative-descriptive paper is conducted in three stages, which are data providing, analysis, and the presentation of the analysis. Based on the analysis, there are eleven techniques used, i.e. exclusion, inclusion, activation, passivation, genericization, specification, individualization, assimilation, nomination, categorization, and personalization. AbstrakMunculnya beberapa “kerajaan baru” di Indonesia sempat menyita perhatian publik pada akhir 2019— awal 2020. Media massa pun berlomba meliput dan menyajikannya kepada khalayak pembaca dengan berbagai sudut pandang. Salah satu yang digunakan para penulis berita ialah representasi para aktor sosial yang terlibat dalam wacana pemberitaan itu. Makalah ini akan membahas penggunaan teknik penulis berita di media daring Kompas.com dalam merepresentasikan para aktor sosial dalam dua pemberitaan tentang Keraton Agung Sejagat. Tujuannya ialah memberikan gambaran teknik dan implikasinya terhadap pemaknaan berita. Metode analisis wacana kritis, terutama pandangan van Leeuwen tentang aktor sosial, digunakan untuk menganalisis dua pemberitaan itu. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada sebelas teknik yang digunakan penulis dalam merepresentasikan aktor sosial, yaitu eksklusi, inklusi, aktivasi, pasivasi, generalisasi, spesifikasi, nominasi, kategorisasi, dan personalisasi.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Compounding in CNN International Online Newspaper September, 2019: Morphological Studies”. this research aims to describe the compounding form and compounding category in CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019. The method in this research is used qualitative descriptive research method. The data in this research were obtined by reading the CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019. The result of this research shows that the compounding process in CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019 can be classified into two forms they are writing forms and compounding forms. In writing forms they are open form and close form and the form of compounding they are endocentric compound (which has a head of compound words) and exocentric compound (which has no a head of a compound word). The category of the data they are compound noun (noun+noun/verb+noun) and compound verb (noun+verb).AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul “Kata Majemuk dalam Teks Berita Daring CNN International Edisi September 2019: Kajian Morfologi”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk dan kategori kata majemuk dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara membaca berita daring CNN International bulan September tahun 2019. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses compounding dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019 dapat diklasifikasikan pada dua bentuk yang terdiri dari bentuk tulisan dan bentuk kata majemuk. Berdasarkan bentuk tulisan didapati dua bentuk tulisan yaitu close form (bentuk tertup) dan open form (bentuk terbuka), kemudian berdasarkan bentuk kata mejemuknya didapati dua bentuk, yaitu berbentuk endocentic compound  (memiliki inti kata) dan excocentric compound (tidak memiliki inti kata). Kategori kata dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019, didapati dua katgori kata majemuk, yaitu kata majemuk yang berkategori nomina (nomina+nomina/verba+nomina)  dan kata majemuk yang berkategori verba (nomina+verba).

Abstract

Literature of a cultural product always interacts with social problems, including issues of locality and local identity. The problem of local identity in the novel Penangsang: Tembang Rindu Dendam is the main concern in this study. The background of the local locality and identity of Cepu which became the center of the Duchy of Jipang in the past was the setting of a place, as well as a space where the final historical and cultural journey of the power of the Demak Sultanate took place. This novel was written in 2010 by Nassirun Purwokartun. This historical novel invites us to rethink Cepu's locality and local identity, which has been a legacy of past generations. Articulation of identity and locality issues seem to be the attention voiced in this novel as well as being an instrument or instrument of articulation. This study uses the New Historicism approach, one literary theory that views history, art, and other things in society has the same degree as the text data in literature. It is hoped that literary research will get the context of the problem in accordance with the situation of the community.

Abstract

Student literacy ability of Indonesian Literature Study Program in Ahmad Dahlan University still lacks attention and handling. This resulted in a low ability of students in literacy literacy skills. While literacy skills can help students to develop critical thinking, divergent thinking, and positive thinking in solving problems. As scholars, prospective scientists and agents of change, students are required to master literacy skills and critical thinking in facing the 21st century's fierce competition. Literacy ability in question here is literacy in the broad sense of being aware of technology, conscious of information, thinking critically, and sensitive to the environment. A person is said to have literacy skills if he is able to understand something because he reads the right information and does something based on his understanding of the contents of the reading. The use of the internet in literary learning is considered to be used as one of the learning models which is supposed to be able to foster independence in learning Popular Literature. To examine the learning process of Wattpad-based Popular Literature, this study uses the mixed methods approach. The results of the study show that the Wattpad application can help students to sharpen literacy skills. The use of Wattpad is considered to provide an interesting learning experience for students.AbstrakKemampuan literasi mahasiswa Prodi Sastra Indonesia Universitas Ahmad Dahlan masih kurang mendapatkan perhatian dan penanganan. Hal ini mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam kemampuan literasi baca tulis. Sementara kemampuan literasi dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan berpikir kritis, divergent thinking, dan positive thinking dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Sebagai insan cendekia, calon ilmuwan dan agen perubahan, mahasiswa dituntut untuk menguasai kemampuan literasi serta berfikir kritis dalam menghadapi persaingan ketat abad ke-21. Kemampuan literasi yang dimaksud adalah keberaksaraan atau literasi dalam arti luas yaitu sadar akan teknologi, sadar informasi, berpikir kritis, dan peka terhadap lingkungan. Seorang dikatakan memiliki kemampuan literasi jika ia sudah bisa memahami sesuatu karena membaca informasi yang tepat dan melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan pemahamannya terhadap isi bacaan tersebut. Pemanfaatan internet dalam pembelajaran sastra dinilai dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang disinyalir bisa menumbuhkan kemandirian dalam pembelajaran Sastra Populer. Untuk mengkaji tentang proses pembelajaran Sastra Populer berbasis Wattpad, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Wattpad dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengasah keterampilan literasi baca tulis. Penggunaan Wattpad dinilai dapat memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menarik bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the social structure of the GGA novel based on the perspective of the Mataram ruler. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a research strategy using content analysis with a genetic structuralism approach. Data and data sources in this study are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs contained in the GGA novel by RH Widada. Other than that the data will be supported by the transcript results of the author’s interview. Data collection techniques with library techniques, refer to and record. Data validation techniques with data triangulation, researchers, and methodology. Data analysis in this study used the interactive model analysis Miles and Huberman. The result showed that the figure of Javanese woman was seen as a figure that could be taken to be a concubine or consort in accordance or consort in accordance with the wishes of the king regardless of marital status or not, a female figure could also be possessed by the king by searching/hunting throughout the country, a cruel punishment to women, the use of women as initiators kenya formidable king’s bodyguards and women symbol of the king’s keprabon revelation.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan struktur sosial novel GGA berdasarkan prespektif penguasa Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan strategi penelitian ini menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis) dengan pendekatan strukturalisme genetik.  Data dan sumber data dalam peneltian ini berupa kata, frasa, kalimat dan paragraf yang terdapat dalam novel Gadis-Gadis Amangkurat karya RH Widada. Selain itu data akan didukung dengan hasil transkripsi wawancara kepada pengarang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pustaka, simak dan catat. Teknik validasi data dengan triangulasi data, peneliti, dan metodologi.  Analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan analisis model interaktif Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  sosok perempuan Jawa dilihat sebagai sosok yang dapat diambil untuk dijadikan selir atau permaisuri sesuai dengan kehendak raja tanpa mempertimbangkan status bersuami atau tidak, sosok perempuan juga dapat dimiliki raja degan cara pencarian/pemburuan ke seluruh pelosok negeri, hukuman kejam kepada perempuan, penggunaan perempuan sebagai Trinisat Kenya pengawal raja yang tangguh, dan perempuan simbol wahyu keprabon raja.

Abstract

The events that occur in the environment are inseparable from the observations and works of writers. Likewise about general elections. Elections are routine events in a country that adopts a democratic system. Taufik Ismail, who is one of the most prolific poets in Indonesia, also noted this election event. This research takes one of Taufik Ismail's poems with the theme of the general election, namely When Indonesia is Honored by the World (KIDD). KIDD's poetry is examined by its ironic elements in shaping meaning. Characteristics and types of irony that is in it and how the irony builds the meaning desired by the poet. Characteristics of irony utterances found in KIDD are semantic disparities and the use of hyperbolic force. Semantic disparities are characterized by lexical contradictions, the juxtaposition of words containing conflicting components of meaning, and the use or insertion of words with contrasting tunings. The use of hyperbole is the most powerful element seen in KIDD. This seems to be a style that is typical of Taufik Ismail. Hyperbolic speech is characterized by a violation of the quantity and quality maxim. The study of the type of irony shows that the KIDD poem contains a type of verbal irony as part of the structure of the pronunciation of irony. The type also found in this study is the type of situational irony. These characteristics and types of irony are used to build criticism, satire, and ridicule towards the Indonesian people. Such criticism, satire, and derision are arranged in a comparison or contrast between the past and the present.AbstrakPemilihan umum merupakan peristiwa rutin dalam sebuah negara yang menganut sistem demokrasi. Taufik Ismail yang merupakan salah satu penyair produktif di Indonesia juga mencatat peristiwa pemilihan umum ini. Penelitian ini mengambil salah satu puisi Taufik Ismail yang bertema pemilihan umum, yakni Ketika Indonesia Dihormati Dunia (KIDD). Puisi KIDD dikaji unsur-unsur ironinya dalam membentuk makna. Ciri dan jenis ironi yang ada di dalamnya serta bagaimana ironi-ironi tersebut membangun makna yang diinginkan oleh penyair. Ciri tuturan ironi yang ditemukan dalam KIDD adalah kesenjangan semantis dan pemakaian gaya hiperbol. Kesenjangan semantis ditandai oleh kontradiksi leksikal, penjajaran kata yang mengandung komponen makna yang bertentangan, serta pemakaian atau penyisipan kata dengan laras yang kontras. Pemakaian hiperbol merupakan unsur yang paling kuat terlihat dalam KIDD. Tampaknya ini merupakan gaya yang khas Taufik Ismail. Ciri tuturan yang hiperbol itu ditandai oleh adanya pelanggaran terhadap maksim kuantitas dan maksim kualitas. Kajian atas jenis ironi menunjukkan bahwa puisi KIDD mengandung jenis ironi verbal sebagai bagian struktur pengucapan ironi. Jenis yang juga ditemukan dalam kajian ini adalah jenis ironi situasi. Ciri dan jenis ironi tersebut digunakan untuk membangun kritik, sindiran, dan cemooh terhadap bangsa Indonesia. Kritik, sindiran, dan cemooh tersebut disusun dalam sebuah pembandingan atau kontras antara masa lalu dan masa kini.

Abstract

The river is one important part that is so attached to the life of the Banjar people of South Kalimantan from time to time. This study analyzes a literary work that also discusses the life of the Banjar community related to river life, namely a short story titled "Jukung" by Zulfaisal Putera. The short story presents a family conflict between Anang and his mother, which originated from differences in views on life related to rivers. That problem is described and analyzed sociologically in this study. In accordance with the formulation of the problem, this study aims to describe the meaning of the river sociologically for the Banjar community, especially in the social construction of the community associated with shifting values in society related to modernity and globalization. This research utilizes the theory of sociology of literature with a focus on the relationship between the social reality of society with social reality in literary works. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis. The results of the analysis of literary sociology show that the short story "Jukung" illustrates the socio-cultural shift of the Banjar communities as a result of modernity.AbstrakSungai merupakan salah satu bagian penting yang begitu lekat dalam kehidupan masyarakat Banjar Kalimantan Selatan dari waktu ke waktu.  Penelitian ini menganalisis sebuah karya sastra yang juga membicarakan kehidupan masyarakat Banjar terkait dengan kehidupan sungai yaitu cerita pendek berjudul “Jukung” karya Zulfaisal Putera. Cerita pendek tersebut menyajikan sebuah konflik keluarga antara tokoh Anang dengan ibunya yang bersumber dari perbedaan pandangan terhadap kehidupan terkait dengan sungai.  Masalah itulah yang diuraikan dan dianalisis secara sosiologis dalam penelitian ini.  Sesuai dengan rumusan masalah tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan makna sungai secara sosiologis bagi masyarakat Banjar khususnya dalam konstruksi sosial masyarakat terkait dengan pergeseran nilai-nilai dalam masyarakat terkait modernitas dan globalisasi.  Penelitian ini memanfaatkan teori sosiologi sastra dengan fokus pembahasan pada keterkaitan antara realitas sosial masyarakat dengan realitas sosial dalam karya sastra.  Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif disertai analisi isi.  Hasil analisis sosiologi sastra menunjukkan bahwa cerita pendek “Jukung” menggambarkan adanya pergeseran sosial budaya masyarakat Banjar sebagai akibat modernitas.

Abstract

The study is titled “Conceptual Metaphor in Kontan.co.id News Titles: A Study of Cognitive Semantics”. The selection of news title diction is not only explicitly delivered, but also implicitly that is by using metaphors. This research is included in qualitative research that is descriptive. The source of metaphoric data comes from online news site Kontan.co.id. The methods used in data collection are in the name of the method of simak with the technique of note as the basic technique and method of data analysis using the method of clay with advanced techniques for direct elements (BUL). The results of the study showed three types of metaphors that were found, namely structural metaphors as much as two data, orientational metaphors as many as two data, and ontological metaphors as many as two data. Based on metaphorical mapping between the source domain and the target domain of the dominant image scheme formed is identity.AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul “Metafora Konseptual dalam Judul Berita Kontan.co.id: Kajian Semantik Kognitif”. Pemilihan diksi judul berita tidak hanya disampaikan secara eksplisit, tetapi juga dengan implisit yaitu dengan menggunakan metafora. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Sumber data metafora berasal dari situs berita daring Kontan.co.id. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yakni metode simak dengan teknik catat sebagai teknik dasarnya dan metode analisis data menggunakan metode agih dengan teknik lanjutan bagi unsur langsung (BUL). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga jenis metafora yang dutemukan, yaitu metafora struktural sebanyak dua data, metafora orientasional sebanyak dua data, dan metafora ontologis sebanyak dua data. Berdasarkan pemetaan metafora antara ranah sumber dan ranah sasaran skema citra dominan yang terbentuk adalah identity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the lexical meaning of the types of women's clothing and naming factors in the clothing itself. Because fashion is one of the things that are in great demand by women. The method used is a descriptive method by analyzing the meaning and naming factors of the types of lexical names in a market that are traded to consumers. The data collection technique used is to write and photograph. The data analysis is carried out in three stages, namely searching for data, managing data, and presenting data. The results of the study showed that the naming of the dresses was caused by various factors such as identity, similarity of features, abbreviations. The naming is classified in the category of naming 8 plants, 7 animals, 12 names of people representing, and 12 nouns. Naming clothes with names such as names of people, animals, plants and names of objects has the aim to give meaning to clothing products that are made according to the nature or character of the product name.

Abstract

The novel My Stupid Boss 5 by Chaos @ Work became the most awaited novel by fans after the release of the novel My Stupid Boss 1-4. The series of humorous stories in this novel are true stories from the author. This paper discusses the speech acts in the novel My Stupid Boss 5 because almost all the utterances in the story of this novel contain different expressions. Every expression that arises is the author's strategy to make the story have a sense of humour. The funny and adorable utterances of the characters in the story, pragmatically, can be examined in illocutionary acts, more specifically expressive speech acts. This study aims to describe expressive speech acts in the novel My Stupid Boss 5. The method used is descriptive-qualitative as a problem-solving procedure by describing expressive speech acts in the novel My Stupid Boss 5. My Stupid Boss 5 novel by Chaos @ Work has a tendency to have expressive illocutionary acts with five (5) indicators: (a) expressive speech acts criticizing, (b) expressive speech acts of complaining, (c) expressive speech acts of blaming, (d) expressive speech acts praising, and (e) expressive speech acts flattering.AbstrakNovel My Stupid Boss 5 karya Chaos@Work ini menjadi novel yang paling ditunggu oleh penggemarnya setelah rilis novel My Stupid Boss 1—4.  Cerita berseri genre humor dalam novel ini merupakan kisah nyata dari penulisnya. Tulisan ini membahas tindak tutur dalam novel My Stupid Boss 5 karena hampir semua tuturan di dalam cerita novel ini mengandung ekspresi yang berbeda- beda. Setiap ekspresi yang timbul merupakan strategi si penulis untuk menjadikan cerita tersebut memiliki daya humor. Tuturan-tuturan yang lucu dan menggemaskan dari tokoh dalam cerita tersebut, secara pragmatik  dapat ditelaah dalam tindak tutur ilokusi, lebih khusus lagi tindak tutur ekspresif. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tindak tutur ekspresif dalam novel My Stupid Boss 5. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif sebagai prosedur pemecahan masalah dengan menggambarkan tindak tutur ekspresif dalam novel My Stupid Boss 5.  Novel  My Stupid Boss 5 karya Chaos@Work memiliki kecenderungan memiliki tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif dengan lima (5) indikator: (a) tindak tutur ekspresif mengkritik, (b) tindak tutur ekspresif mengeluh, (c) tindak tutur ekpresif menyalahkan, (d) tindak tutur ekspresif memuji, dan (e) tindak tutur ekspresif menyanjung.
