Abstract

The Benggaila watershed disembogues into Kendari Bay, the upper part was dominated by forest areas and the middle and downstream parts were dominated by residential areas. Its location in the capital city of Southeast Sulawesi causes a very high change in land use and social culture in the watershed. This study aimed to determine changes in land use and community socio-cultural activities in the period 2004 to 2019. The results showed that changes in land use during that year range were very high. Changes from agricultural land and forest to the settlement were 67.4% dominate the other changes. This condition causes a shift in the socio-cultural pattern of society. The people of origin who lived in the downstream and middle of the watershed were moved to the upstream, while the immigrants stayed downstream of the watershed. These changes have also changed the patterns and methods of farming as well as behavior in utilizing forests. Soil and water conservation efforts were carried out by integrating changes in land use and the current social conditions of the community through adequate land planning and the community's mindset in utilizing the land.

Abstract

The development of the fisheries and marine sector absolutely must be done to increase the production and competitiveness of fisheries and marine products. The Government of Indonesia has established several areas as minapolitan areas, one of which is West Sumbawa Regency as a minapolitan area for seaweed development. Besides seaweed, the minapolitan area has many other potentials that can be developed to improve the competitiveness and added value of the minapolitan area. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out the potential of the Minapolitan Area, analyze the internal and external factors of the Minapolitan Area, and formulating the development strategy of the West Sumbawa Regency Minapolitan Area. This research was conducted from October to December 2020, in Labuhan Kertasari Village, Taliwang District, West Sumbawa Regency, which was selected by purposive sampling. The data used include primary data from the interview results of respondents and secondary data from several related agencies. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the West Sumbawa Regency minapolitan area apart from being a seaweed development area also has other potentials such as capture fisheries, marine and inland aquaculture, tourism (small islands, beaches, seaweed education), agricultural food crops, plantations, and animal husbandry. West Sumbawa Regency Minapolitan area development strategy, is a SO (Strengthness-Opportunity) strategy, which is a strategy that utilizes the strengths to seize opportunities or aggressive strategies which include Encouraging investment in the Minapolitan area, Diversifying fishery and agricultural processed products, Increasing development and optimizing use facilities and infrastructure of production, processing and marketing activities of agricultural products in a broad sense and tourism, increasing the potential of agriculture and fisheries and tourism in order to expand employment opportunities and facilitate and accelerate licensing and investment service rules.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the production, income, and feasibility of Lift Net In Kaleroang Village, South Bungku Sub District, Morowali District. The research was conducted in February 2020 in the waters of Kaleroang Village. Data collection was carried out by direct interviews with respondents using a questionnaire. The population and sample in this study were all fishermen who worked on floating charts in Kaleroang Village, Bungku Selatan Sub District, with as many as 20 fishermen. Data analysis using production analysis, income, and RC ratio analysis. The results showed that the average monthly production of Lift Net in Kaleroang Village was 5,697 kg / month with an average Income of IDR 12,079,583 / month and an RC ratio of 6.58, which means a floating chart business is feasible to develop.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the social interaction of sand miners in the Laosu Village Bondoala Sub District Konawe District. The research sample consisted of 15 sand miners. The descriptive analysis was used to conduct this research—descriptive techniques for social interaction of sand miners in cooperation and competition, using the interval formula. This study indicated that social interaction with sand miners in collaboration and mutual help from fellow miners knew that the sand is the high category. At the same time, social interaction with sand miners in terms of individual competition and competition for the position and the role of the sand miners fall into the low category. Then social interaction sand miners in the form of a personal conflict of sand miners and social class antagonism sand miners in the deficient category.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Jawi-Jawi Village, Bungku Selatan Subdistrict, Morowali Regency from February to March 2019. The location selection was carried out purposively deliberately) with the consideration that the people are Bajo people who work as fishermen. The determination of informants was carried out using the census method, totaling 8 people, and had carried out farming activities, consisting of Bajo ethnic fishermen, village heads, village secretaries, and community leaders. Collecting data using observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Retrieval of data through interviews with informants based on a list of questions and related parties in farming activities. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the factors driving the adaptation form of the Bajo tribe to farming activities were internal factors, namely the lack of income of fishermen, lack of fishing gear, lack of knowledge of fishermen, age of fishermen, and limited capital. Meanwhile, external factors are uncertain climatic conditions and the impact of mining activities.
