Abstract

The city of Mataram is one of the regions that has the potential for developing organic agriculture and has prepared a policy of using organic materials for farmers in conducting their farming. One of the policies of the Mataram City Government in supporting organic farming practices is to provide assistance in the form of production equipment in the form of an organic fertilizer counter for each farmer group. But in reality, at this time there are still not many farmers who want to do an organic farming system in their farming business. The purpose of this study is to 1) Determine farmers' responses to organic agriculture, and 2) link the factors that encourage farmers to apply organic farming. The method used in this research is descriptive method. This research was conducted in two districts namely Selaparang Subdistrict and Sekarbela Subdistrict, Mataram City, which were selected by purposive sampling. The data in this study are cross section data obtained from interviews with 40 people taken by quota sampling consisting of 20 organic farmers and 20 non-organic farmers. The data collected is then analyzed using a categorical data analysis model. The results showed that, the response of organic farmers to organic farming in the city of Mataram depended on positive results. The response of organic farmers to organic farming in the city of Mataram was positive because respondents thought that the benefits of organic farming on soil fertility were very high, could reduce environmental pollution and could increase increased agriculture. While the response of non-organic farmers to organic farming is in the moderate / less positive range. This causes the complexity of the application of organic agriculture both in terms of fertilization and when spraying pests and diseases. Factors that support farmers in implementing organic farming systems in the city of Mataram are the role of extension workers, approval of agricultural technology and capital. While the factors that hamper farmers involving organic agriculture are farmer prices, prices of organic products which are the same as non-organic products, capital, access to information and access to organic agricultural production.

Abstract

Soybean is a strategic food in Indonesia whose needs continue to increase. However, efforts to increase local soybean production are still difficult due to the large number of imported soybeans entering. This fact has resulted in a decline in farmers' interest in soybean cultivation. In addition, programs to increase local soybean production are still focused on irrigated land, whose use is still competitive with corn and rice. Therefore, this study aims to 1) assess the production and socio-economic potential of soybean agribusiness, 2) determine the added value of soybean-based agroindustries, and 3) estimate the need for soybeans on an agro-industrial scale that makes farmers in the dry land of Central Lombok prosperous. This research was conducted for four months, starting from June to October 2020. The number of research respondents was 30 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. The results showed that soybean productivity was 5.75 Ku / hectare and income was IDR 2,433,588.88 / hectare. The added value of the farming family for the tofu agroindustry is Rp. 7,989, and the Tempe agroindustry is Rp. 5,131. The minimum amount of soybean needed for the tofu and tempeh agroindustry or the farmer's family to be prosperous is 1,365.38 kg/capita/year. This improvement is expected to be an incentive to foster farmer interest so that soybean production can increase.

Abstract

Bima Regency is the center for the development and production of the largest shallot commodity in NTB Province. However, the productivity of shallots in Bima Regency still needs to be increased in order to achieve maximum production. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence shallot farming and to analyze the technical efficiency of farmers in conducting shallot farming. Bima Regency is the research area determined by purposive sampling because it is the center of shallot development in NTB Province. The research data was taken by conducting interviews with 35 respondents who were determined by proportional sampling. Then the data obtained were analyzed using the Cobb Douglas Stochastic Frontier production function approach using the Frontier 4.1 software program. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the production factor of the number of seeds, urea fertilizer and labor had a significant effect on the production of shallots at the alpha level of 5 percent while pesticides and KCL fertilizers had a significant effect on the production of shallots at the alpha level of 15 percent. The level of technical efficiency of onion farming in Bima Regency is classified as efficient because it has a value of 0.9569. Farmers can still improve efficiency in onion farming by optimizing the use of superior seeds, labor, balanced fertilizer application, and increasing farmers' skills in adopting innovation and using onion cultivation technology.
