Abstract

Abstrak: Ruang diciptakan oleh perilaku subyek historis. Gagasan ini merujuk pada konteks ruang urban dengan makna ruang yang cair. Dinamisnya makna ruang menantang membuka kesempatan untuk menawarkan ide dan makna baru bagi ruang. Performance dan performativity sebagai suatu bentuk perilaku subjek historis memiliki kapasitas untuk menciptakan makna-makna ruang yang baru. Tulisan ini hendak membahas mengenai proses danimplikasi dari ruang baru yang tercipta dari aktifitas menggeser tempat pertunjukan Tari Ibu oleh Brilyan (2019). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menilai  apakah suatu ruang dapat disebut sebagai ruang urban atau tidak adalah dengan teori Pierce tentang apa yang dia maksudkan sebagai logical interpretant dan penjelasan Schehner mengenai performativity. Kesimpulan yang dapat ditarik dari pembahasan ini adalah bahwasannya sangat mungkin bagi performance untuk memindahkan tempat dan ruang urban. Kata kunci: ruang, urban, seni pertunjukan, performatifitas, tari Abstract: Space is created by the action of the historical subject. This idea refers to the fluidity of urban space context meaning. Performance and performativity as a form of historical subject behavior have the capacity to offer a new definition of urban space. This paper will discuss the process and implications of the new space created by the activity of shifting the venue for Tari Ibu dance performance by Brilyan (2019). Pierce's theory about “logical interpretant” and Schehner's explanation of performativity were utilized to assess whether a space can be referred to as urban and non-urban space. The conclusion that can be drawn from this discussion is that it is very possible to create an alternative urban space through a performance art. Key words: space, urban, performance art, performativity, dance

Abstract

Abstrak: Terjemahan naskah Rumah Boneka (A Doll’s House) oleh Amir Sutaarga dari naskah asli A Doll’s House oleh Henrik ibsen adalah kritik egoisme kaum lelaki yang sedikit menyinggung isu kesetaraan gender terhadap kaum perempuan. Ibsen bertujuan untuk mengekspos stigma yang salah terhadap peran dan institusi sosial gender perempuan. Aktor utama dalam drama ini akan memerankan Nora dengan penerapan teori acting “magic if” yang dicetuskan oleh Constantin Stanislavski – dengan mengimajinasikan diri “as if” dan “if only” dimana aktor membayangkan dirinya berada di posisi Nora. Dalam pengaplikasian teori pemeranan ini, terjadi eksplorasi dalam berbagai tingkatan pada latihan untuk benar-benar menjiwai karakter Nora berikut dengan konflik-konflik yang dialaminya. Kata Kunci: A Doll’s House, Henrik Ibsen, Nora, Stanislavski, Magic If Abstract: A translated script Rumah Boneka (A Doll's House) by Amir Sutaarga from the original script A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen which is a criticism onto human male's egoism and slightly exposes the gender equality to a human female. Ibsen aims to reveal the wrong social statements onto a female's social role and its social institutions. The main actor in this play will portray Nora by applying the "magic if" acting theory which was introduced by Constantin Stanislavski - "as if" and "if only" kind of self-imagination where the actor imagines to be in Nora's shoes. In the application of this theory of acting, the exploration goes through certain levels of acting rehearsals to really get into the character of Nora's along with her conflicts. Key word: A Doll's House, Henrik Ibsen, Nora, Stanislavski, Magic If.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini menganalisis ketubuhan para tandhak ludruk pada kelompok Ludruk Lerok Anyar Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan untuk melihat bagaimana tubuh digunakan menjadi alat untuk menunjukkan identitas gender dan bagaimana tubuh digunakan menjadi alat untuk merepresentasikan nilai sensualitas. Identitas gender dan sensualitas tubuh dianalisis menggunakan teori identitas gender dan sensualitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka, wawancara, observasi dan pengamatan video rekaman pertunjukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa panggung ludruk mampu memberikan ruang bagi para transgender sebagai tandhak ludruk untuk menunjukkan identitas keperempuanan. Tubuh para tandhak dikonstruksi melalui serangkaian gerak, gesture, make up dan kostum. Kata Kunci: tandhak ludruk, identitas gender, sensualitas tubuh, kelompok Ludruk Lerok Anyar. Abstract: This research analyzes “Gender Identity and Tandhak Body Sensuality in Ludruk Lerok Anyar Stage Performance”. This research is important to do as it aims to see how body is used as a medium for showing gender identity and how the body is used as a media representing sensuality value. The body’s gender identity and sensuality is analyzed through the gender and sensuality theory. This research uses qualitative method, with data gathering technique done by library research, interview, observation, and performance video recording monitoring. The results show that Ludruk performance is capable to give transgenders a space as tandhak ludruk to show their feminine identity. The body of these tandhak are constructed by a set of movements, gestures, make-up, and costumes. Key Word:  tandhak ludruk, gender identity, body sensuality, Ludruk Lerok Anyar community

Abstract

Abstract: Poem employs a variety of aesthetic devices varying from rhythm, meter, and on textual literary content: figurative language. Through the usage of figurative language, a short poem is capable to deliver more in-depth meaning in each word. In the poem A Minor Bird by Robert Frost, the poet employs symbols and imagery as the most prominent figurative language device. Hence this paper aims to identify these devices and further explains it as a poem breakdown analysis in hope to enlighten readers’ perception and understanding against entry-level poem analysis. Abstract

Abstrak: Raja Mati adalah salah satu naskah drama absurd karya Eugène Ionesco yang menceritakan tentang sebuah kerajaan yang sudah sekarat.  Raja Mati memberikan pesan kepada kita bahwa hidup di dunia ini bersifat fana. Penelitian dan penciptaan seni ini hendak mengeksplorasi proses latihan dalam pemeranan tokoh Ratu Mahrit dalam naskah Raja Mati karya Eugène Ionesco. Tidak terdapat metode dan teori pemeranan spesifik untuk naskah absurd, sehingga penelitian dan penciptaan ini menggunakan proses kreatif Wallas (1926) sebagai panduan dalam eksplorasi pemeranan. Proses eksplorasi ini membawa peneliti pada pemahaman mengenai beragam absurditas dari berbagai sumber dan membuat beberapa metode latihan sendiri untuk melakukan pendekatan terhadap tokoh, terutama pada ketubuhan, vokal, dan rasa. Kata kunci: Raja Mati, Absurd, Ionesco, Ratu Mahrit. Abstract: Exit the King is one of the absurd playcripts by Eugène Ionesco which tells of a dying kingdom. Exit the King gives us a message that life in this world is perishable. This research and creation of art seeks to explore the process of training in the role of the Queen Mahrit in the Exit the King script by Eugène Ionesco. There are no specific methods and theories for the absurd play, so this research and creation of art uses the Wallas (1926) creative process as a guide in the role playing exploration. This exploration process brings the researchers to an understanding of the various absurdities from various sources and tries several methods of exercise to do the role, especially in body, vocal, and sense exploration. Key word: Exit the King, Absurd, Ionesco, Queen Mahrit.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penciptaan pertunjukan teater ini dilatari oleh fenomena pelakor yang dewasa ini terasa marak. Penciptaan karya ini menggunakan pendekatan teori interteks dan feminis dalam mengolah kisah naskah. Pemahaman secara intertekstual bertujuan untuk menggali secara bebas makna-makna yang terkandung dalam sebuah teks kisah asmara Putri Banowati kepada Raden Arjuna. Metode dalam proses penciptaan ini menggunakan metode penciptaan yang dikembangkan oleh Boal (2000), yang secara unik merubah penonton (objek) menjadi pemain (subjek). Proses penciptaan ini terbukti mampu menciptakan komunikasi yang unik antara partisipan, aktor, dan pengamat. Hal tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan untuk mendalami sebuah persoalan sosial di masyarakat yang mungkin sulit  diungkapkan terutama pada isu yang berbenturan dengan nilai-nilai dan dianggap tabu pada suatu lingkungan. Kata kunci: Teater, pelakor, Boal, interteks, feminisme Abstract: The creation of this theatre performance is based on issues of people in that has spiked up recently. This creation uses intertext and feminism theoretical approach in arranging the playscript. Intertextual understanding aims to search deeper on the implicit meaning within the romance of Putri Banowati and Raden Arjuna. The method used in the art creation process is the method developed by Boal (2000) that uniquely changes the audience (the object) into actors (the subject). This art creation process is proven to be able to create a unique communication between participant, actors, and observers. Such relationship can be made use for analyzing the social problem in the society that might have been too risque to be openly discussed, especially in the issues considered taboo in a community. Key word: Theatre, affair, Boal, intertext, feminism
