This research was use completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions, every repetitions were consist of 1 duck with a total20 ducks (unsex) with 8,6% diversity. The treatments were given on this research are the R0: 0%, R1: 4%, R2: 8%. R3: 12%, and R4: 16% of Indigofera zollingerianameals. This research was held in the Laboratory Lapang Terpadu of Agriculture Faculty, University of Lampung for 7 weeks from February to April 2018. The variables that observed are livingweight, weight of giblet, and the weight of abdominal fat. The result showed that the impact of Indigofera zollingeriana that was given is not significant (P>0,05) for the of peking ducks. Keywords: Indigofera zollingeriana, living weight,  giblet, abdominal fat, peking ducks

Abstract

The purpose of the research to determined the effect of soaking beef in various concentration of ginger blend and determined the best concentration of ginger blend on pH, water holding capacity, and cooking loss on beef. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Meat samples obtained from RPH Z-Beef Indonesia. The treatment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. Treatments are in the form of concentration of ginger blend 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% with immersion time for 50 minutes. The results obtained were analyzed by Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) at the 5% level and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the addition of ginger blend with a concentration of up to 30% did not significantly influenced (P>0.05) on the pH value and water holding capacity, but had a significant effected (P<0.05) on the cooking loss of beef. Keywords: Ginger, Beef, Physic quality.

Abstract

This study aims to determined the effect of giving rations with different of  herbs dosages on external quality of crossbred chicken eggs and to find out the best dosage of herbs in ration that affect the external quality of crossbred chicken eggs.  This research was conducted in September 2018 in the poultry house of the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The chickens used were   crossbred chickens between male Lohmann brown and female kampong (3/4 Lohmann brown +1/4 kampong) layer phase aged (48 weeks) as many as 20 chickens.  The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications.  The treatment given are a diet with different dosages of herbs, which are, H0: without herbs, H1: 1g / 1kg, H2: 2g / 1kg, H3: 3g / 1kg.  The data obtained were analyzed by analyze of variance using significant level of 5% and followed by least significant different test.  The variables observed were consumption of calcium and phosphorus, egg weight, and shell thickness.  The results showed that different rations with herbs level had a significant effected (P <0,05) on egg weight and did not significant effected (P> 0,05) on calcium intake, phosphorus intake, and shell thickness. Keywords: Rations, Herbs, External quality of eggs, Crossbred chicken

Abstract

This study aims to determined the correlation between body weight with scrotal circumference and volume of semen and scrotum circumference with volume of semen of Saburai Goat in the source breeding area, Tanggamus District. This research was observing 20 Saburai goat males in the breeding area by survey method. This research was conducted from 26 April to 30 July 2018. Research data used primary data and secondary data taken from direct observation in the field and recording of livestock from breeders' source areas. Data were analyzed by correlation analysis using SPSS software 16.0 version. The variables observed included body weight, scrotal circumference, and volume of semen. The results indicated that correlation between body weight and scrotum circumference 0,410; correlation between body weight and volume of semen 0,300; and correlation between scrotal circumference and volume of semen 0,148. Keywords: Saburai goat, body weight, scrotum circumference, and volume of semen.
