3D printer is a rapid prototyping technology that has developed rapidly in this decade. 3D printers use STL files derived from 3D CAD drawings as input data for the processing. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the resolution of the STL file used on the quality of the geometry and dimensions of the product produced. This research was conducted by using 2 types of STL file resolution created with Autodesk Inventor. The results of this study are that there is an influence of the resolution of the STL file used on the quality of the geometry and dimensions of the product being made. the quality of the product geometry has different geometric shapes in the radius. Whereas in the aspect of the product dimension obtained a product dimension accuracy of 0.02 sampai 0.8 mm.Â

This study aims to analyze the ability of the copper honeycomb type DPF to the engine performance of diesel engines. The object of research was the 1996 Isuzu Panther engine, which was equipped with one standard exhaust and three experimental exhausts with DPF technology with a variety of mesh sizes 20, 15, and 10 mm. The findings of this study are that the DPF 10 mm is the best variation when compared to the other two variations in terms of increasing engine performance. The reason is that the smaller the mesh, the better the trapping of fine dust particles. Besides, the temperature inside the DPF is also increasing. Also, the use of the right casing design will make the turbulence of the exhaust gas flow lower. Furthermore, the temperature continues to grow, and the little turbulence of the exhaust gas flow will cause self-burning in the DPF. The occurrence of self-burning will have an impact on the complete combustion process, which affects increasing torque and engine power by 2.29-11.68% and 2.94-11.93%, respectively, when compared with standard exhaust.

This research is expected to find out how to increase biogas production. Efforts are made by varying the ingredients for making biogas: Variations in biogas materials are 100% cow dung, and bagasse: yeast with a volume ratio of 3: 1, cow dung + bagasse with a volume ratio of 3: 1 plus 100 grams of tape yeast. The test uses 4 kg of material in a 6 liters capacity tube. The result is the material of cow dung  coupled with bagasse and yeast tape produces the most amount of biogas when compared to other variations with the most results. The total amount of biogas originating from cow dung plus bagasse and tape yeast is at most 5.6 liters in 10 days, the least is cow dung without additional, namely 1.67 liters in 10 days. Biogas production is mostly on the 5-8 days on average, after that it has decreased in each variation.

This study aims to create a computer based intelligent system to detect freshwater fish disease. Problems often faced by fish farmers, especially freshwater fish, are fish diseases that begin with signs such us wounds on the surface of the fish’s body, bleeding on the gills, fish’s stomach which suddenly enlarges and is filled with fluid, the release of fins or the tail of the fish which results in the death of cultivated fish, thereby reducing freshwater fish production. The expert system developed to implement the forward chaining method which starts with tracking the symptoms experienced by fish to determine the preventive action that must be taken by bringing the symptoms to the system. System development in this study uses extreme programming (XP) where the flexibility of this method supports all changes that occur when developing an expert system to detect fish diseases. The output of the research carried out in the form of an expert system that provides information about freshwater fish diseases, the cause and how to overcome them.

Solar panel is one of the most promising renewable energies technology that can be an alternative of the fossil fuel energy. Furthermore, an accurate model to simulate the solar panel efficiency and power output is required. In this study, four parameters model is used to simulate the power output of the solar panel. Four parameters are extracted from single diode equation by using Matlab software then validate with manufacturer datasheet and one-day experiment condition. The error value from datasheet and experiment are 0.03% and 3.54%, respectively. Findings show that four parameters model is accurate. In the future, this result can be taken as a valuable reference for researcher and industrial to modelling energy output of the solar panel.

Production process flows are often the obstacles caused by production machine not functioning. Maintenance policies applied today are corrective maintenance and plan maintenance/time direct. Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) it’s method that can be used optimal maintenance action for every part of machine in galvanizing wire system. Steps above method planning consist of a functional block diagram (FBD), system function and function failure (SFFF), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), logic tree analysis (LTA), and task selection (TS). The results of analysis RCM method obtained 392 failure mode divided into 83 failure mode which is classified as critical and obtained 59 critical type part. Furthermore, the most appropriate maintenance action for 83 failure critical mode is 55 failure mode in condition directed (CD), 28 failure mode in failure finding (FF) category. Based on design of RCM, this research can reduce the frequency of machine breakdown on galvanizing wire system by 80.98%.

The problem faced by institutions of higher education is not exactly of graduation. It is the task of institution of higher education, especially courses in the students academic monitoring. Today, there are many methods or ways to solve various problems of information technology either by machine learning at data mining. This study uses Naive Bayes. Linear Regression, dan Multi Layer Perceptron algorithm also Weight by Information Gain as Features Selection to optimize accuracy in predicting the time of students graduation. The dataset processing with certain attributes including registration line, origin school, origin city, and the semester grade point 1 to 4 in RapidMiner by implementing the three algorithms along with the selection feature produces relatively good accuracy. Naive Bayes produces an accuracy of 81.66% with an execution time of 1.16 seconds, Linear Regression of 80.70% in 2.44 seconds and Multi Layer Perceptron of 82.16% in 1 hour 57 minutes.

Foot prosthetics is one of the needs of the disabled feet as a tool for activities. The ankle prosthetic model is proposed as an alternative prosthetic model that is affordable to people with disabilities. The model is designed and analyzed to be able to withstand the average weight of a human being in the heel strike, midstance, and toe-off position and has a safe safety factor value. The research method used is the model design and model analysis consisting of preprocessing, solution, and post-processing. The analysis results showed that the greatest deformation occurred in the toe-off position of 1.52 mm when given a load of 500 N and 0.036 mm when given a moment of 5000 Nmm. The greatest strain energy was located in the forefoot area at a toe-off position of 0.6 mJ. Maximum stress also occurred at the toe-off position of 5.71 MPa. With a safety factor of 4.7, this model is categorized as safe because the stress that occurs is still below the yield strength limit of the ABS material.

Increasing consumption of fossil fuels, depleting oil reserves and increasingly expensive fuels have forced the use of alternative fuels. Diethyl ether (DEE) can be used as an alternative fuel because it has a high cetane number, low viscosity, and high oxygen content. This observation was carried out to determine the effect of the addition of Diethyl ether on 20% diesel-jatropha fuel mixture to the torque and power produced. Tests carried out on a 4JB1 type direct injection diesel engine with a constant speed of 2500 rpm. The DEE volume used is 5%, 10%, and 15% is volume-based. The test results show 20% jatropha content produces lower torque and power compared to pure diesel fuel (D100). Also, the addition of DEE to 20% diesel-jatropha fuel produces low torque and power but the value is higher than 20% of diesel-jatropha fuel. The highest torque and power reduction trends occurred in the use of DJ20 fuel by 0.0448% when loading 25%. While the lowest decrease in torque and power occurs in the DJ20DEE15 fuel by 0.0112% with 100% loading compared to D100 fuel.

The rapid development of technology, sunlight can be converted into electrical energy. But there are problems that arise in the performance of solar panels, one of which is the panel temperature is too high. Therefore to overcome the decrease in performance, the panel temperature needs to be maintained. In this study aims to analyze the temperature settings on solar panel cooling using variations in air velocity to improve photovaltic performance. Solar simulators is used in this ekperiment and carried out in a closed room conditions. solar panel is placed in a special box called a cooler box and four thermocouples are placed at the top of the panel and 2 others at the bottom of the panel to evaluate the temperature changes that occurs on the panel. An air blower is combined with an anemometer to provide variations in air velocity for cooling the panels. From the results of solar panel testing without cooling obtained in the temperature range of 38 - 52.875â°C produces electrical efficiency ranging from 3.014 - 3.134%. Whereas in testing using cooling with varying air velocity of 2, 3, 4, and 5 m/s in the temperature range of 33.43 -40.5°C produces electrical efficiency ranging from 3.106 - 3.206 %.
