Abstract

Factory is a very common location in industrial field, where the most problem occurred. By observing the local part that is used for production welding plant 1 in PT. Mitratama, some part are often returned. The problem was happening because the capacity flow rack cannot hold all of the box supplied. Resulting in re-arrangement of the quantity in box, so the number of box used is decreasing for the next supply. One of the solutions is increasing the box capacity and the other one is by standardize the flow rack measurement. Therefore, Storage Analysis Chart is used to identify the capacity of regular production safety stock, type of rack, and the area requirement. Internal lead time and stock capacity in the flow rack of production line also become consideration. Storage Analysis Chart can provide the improvement by optimizing the measurement and its space. Then standardization is implemented so the rack capacity will be improved. So, all the box from the progress lane can be supplied to production. The results of the standardization that has been implemented are the overflow will be reduced by 1.54% and the area of direct supply also reduced by 50%.

Abstract

PT. ASIKA Indonesia is a big manufacturing toy company in Indonesia. Many problems occur in PT. ASIKA Indonesia. The obstacle that may occur such as about the product quality, the technological system of the company or the documentation system of the company. In this section, the obstacle that occurs in PT. ASIKA Indonesia is the double counted of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and some of the documents have not been registered yet even those documents are legal documents. It has the impact on the quality management system of the company. It will give impact when the company needs to review and audit all the legal documents of PT. ASIKA Indonesia. Thus, it is needed to conduct the research on document control. The procedures and the applicable documents such as form will be reviewed. The analysis is performed on a list of Standard Operational Procedures (SOP)s and forms. Pareto diagram is also constructed with pie chart and pivot table as a tool. After conduct the analysis, it will make the user ease to find the procedure and the related document in the documentation system without double counted.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is accomplished by measuring the workload of officers of HCGS Division in PT HGS.  This measurement will be used for determining the man power required by each position. Based on initial observation, there is imbalance workload distribution among the employees leads to the low employee productivity. Therefore, the workload analysis is needed to find the appropriate workload allocation among employees. The productivity is analyzed by measuring work load and Full Time Equivalent (FTE) standardization using 17 positions of HCGS Division and the expert officer as sample. The employee FTE is compared to the company’s FTE and gap analysis is done. Gap will be classified using FTE Index. Next, the unbalance workload will be minimized by determining the man power of each position. Several alternatives of man power planning are provided by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative. The result of this study is to provide the best strategy for reducing the unbalance of workload.

Abstract

PT. East Jakarta Industrial Park (EJIP), located in Cikarang, needs to expand their air quality laboratory for providing the air quality check services. These services are provided for all companies located in EJIP area. This company is needed to develop a laboratory layout. Thus, this research is performed for generating several layout alternatives. The input data are process flow, bill of materials, test lists, equipment and processing times. The calculations are performed for determining the space requirement, space availability and activity relationship. The generating of layout alternatives is done by using construction algorithm Automated Layout Design Program (ALDEP). The best layout is chosen based on the highest layout score. In addition, the generated layout should follow the “Peraturan Menteri Perindustrian No. 35 Tahun 2010”, states that availability of green area is around 17.36% of total area.

Abstract

Uncertainty presents on cars market demands affect in arranging the production plan of each automotive industry. Achieve the exact number of actual demand is nearly impossible since the demand itself is uncertain. As the demand increase, additional operators are needed to increase the output and vice versa. Manpower planning is useful in controlling such problems. The output and number of operators needed can be estimated hence, fulfilling demand then become easier. PT. Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Indonesia shortened as MEAINA is an automotive company has an issue regarded its manpower planning. Manpower plan for alternator assembly line producing model A005TG2991ZJ currently has been limited. Besides, the estimation of manpower plan is pretty rough. In overcoming this problem, yamazumi chart and precedence diagram are used to support the arrangement of workstations which directly affect to the manpower plan. By using the two method, improvement in output and line balancing percentage is expected to be obtained. The results confirmed that there is an improvement in the number of output, while line balancing percentage is slightly decline, nevertheless a significant improvement in both monthly output and line efficiency is detected on manpower plan of 20 operators.

Abstract

PT. DEF is a manufacturing company that produces lighting fixture. Light Emitting Diode (LED) down-light is one of the company flagship products. With the new type (LGB72316 LE1 and LGB72317 LE1) and the company's policy not to add man-power in production units lead automatically in addition of work hours on the production schedule that’s resulting in increased overtime. After a series of data collection and testing, as well as the determination of standard time on the assembly line work related, research shows that low line efficiency (66.55%) and the balance delay is high (33.45%). This is an indication of poor performance related on the assembly line. Line balancing would be an alternative problem solving tools to overcome these problems. This study tried to draft a new balancing method Helgeson-Birnei, Moodie Young and Kilbridge-Wester Heuristics. Of a series of procedures that have been performed, the method Kilbridge-Wester Heuristics showed the best results. The method is able to improve performance by reducing cycle time, product of 35.17 seconds / products became 32.88 seconds / products and generate 6 work stations with 6 operators, line efficiency 94.91%, balance delay 5.09%, smoothness index of 6,224 and labor cost saving of Rp 7,215,011.27 per month.
